Wow, the way this was handled was so much better than the original series. I thought the other series made Al's worries far to melodramatic and drawn out while this was handled very nicely, and maturely, by Ed and Winry. A great episode of bonding for the two brothers and nice development for Winry.

Great episode, all things considered. It's interesting how this series seems to be more comedic, yet somehow it comes off as more mature than the first series to me.

agree, even when Ed, Scar and Al was hurt they still manage to add some comedic relief and it didn't break away the moment in anyway.

i think this is the shows greatest strengths compared to the first season :P

The Original did this scene better. Edward seemed too much like a jerk and Alphonse had a right reason to be angry, Edward did start the misunderstanding. It was better in Original, where Edward was sympathetic and ran after Al instead of like this.

Honestly, I teared up.
And I was also smiling uncontrollably in the same episode.

So far, this series has not had any dull moments. I hope it continues like that.

It annoys me how Ed and Al didn't really resolve this by talking about it, but instead reminiscing over the past. Al told Ed nothing about Barry. But I guess as Winry said, they're not good with talking about their emotions.

Winry seems like a very nice girl. True onee-san material. I like the bond she has with the brothers.

Alphonse's angst is understandable. It cannot be easy to be in his situation.

Good episode. I like the way they blended the comedy and the drama. The way they resolved their issues was very brother-like :)

I have to agree for once here: this scene was handled FAR better in Brotherhood than in the first series. Not so much because I understand Al better here, but because I understand Ed better here. I thought it was weird how Ed felt so guilty over trapping Al in that armor, but Brotherhood does a much better job at elaborating on that part of it. I almost started tearing up for a bit there.

Still, I do kind of miss seeing Al hang with Scar, being that is the moment I realized scar wasn't a villain and actually a cool dude before. It's a fair though - trade one good thing to get another good thing. 'Tis what I was expecting out of Brotherhood, this is just the first time it felt like Brotherhood wasn't getting ripped off in the trade. Hopefully it stays like this!

well yeah, it was also in the first FMA series as well, lol.
you'd have to be an idiot not to catch them -___-' they don't make filler characters stick out THAT much.

Anyways, I love this episode. The part where Winry gets all emotional and lifelessly hits Al with her wrench xD love that, hahhaha.

A more sensible thing for Al to yell at Ed during that milk drinking scene was that Ed was being ungrateful; he should take care of his body, because Al would drink that milk if he could, but he couldn't, etc.

Glad the silly doubts are over with, though. I actually got teary during the "he hates me" flashback.

I usually have no reaction to "cute anime kids." But that Elicia two-three scene was totally cute, maybe because I've seen tons of people do that

Brother's Conflict. But glad that they were able to fix it with the help of Winry. Love the part when Winry hit Al. I have this weird feeling that something s is going to happen with Maes Hughes. Do I need to prepare a box of tissue?

If I were to say yes, then that'd confirm your suspicion, but if I were to say no, then I'd deny your suspicion, but one of these is wrong, meaning if I lie, then you won't be prepared, but if I don't, then you'll be spoiled.

I'll just say for now that later on sad stuff happens to characters, but I won't confirm or deny that anything happens to Hugh's, winry, ed, al, mustang, frodo, riza, or any other character.
I didn't come here to play, I came to win. Now lets play.

I really adored Winry this episode. Her smacking Alphonse with the wrench was hilarious and then morphed into heartbreaking. It was sweet when she was fixing Ed's arm and I love her interactions with Hughes and his family.

The little Scar scene at the end was cool, too.

Hughes and the gun, lololol.

But, DDDDDDD: Next episode. DDDDD: ;___;

Didnt winry betray Edward? after realising he doesnt know she made a mistake repairing his automail, she just writes him an extra bill...WTF. she makes him responsible for her mistake, humiliates him and deceives him. @all: pls answer me and explain to me what i didnt notice or if you agree with me!

Hmm. I must be the only person who didn't like how that fight played out, especially with Winry. I mean, Al is having an existential crisis and HE's the one that gets beat on? Just because he made Ed feel a little sad? Really? The guy basically got turned into a robot and you can't cut him any slack?

Otherwise, I found the rest of the episode to be pretty good.

This is the reason because I dislike Al, what the hell is wrong with you? Who would rather believe the words of a murderer who tried to kill you then your own brother, your best friend and a woman who cared for you for years? Winry was right, "Al you moron!"

hated this episode. Winry is siding with eric only because she fancyes him, even though Alphonse is in the right. he has the right to question everything and she should not but in, in thoughts matters. but what i really hated is the acceptance that Alphonse gave after getting hit on the head he should have really explained to he even more not just cave in like a wimp.

That was a damn good episode, very emotional. I really like these characters. The revelation of Ed's secret was great, as was their "fight" and Hughes' explanation to Winry as to how men's emotions work. The soundtrack was really good too!

The situations are combined in different ways but we come anyway, again, at the same point, then there is a lot of difference with the FMA regarding the issue between Ed and Al, just a few minutes more, something quite different is what is going to happen next, the context here in Brotherhood comes much earlier. Narratively was very funny episode, far from the FMA.

Whelp that quickly resolved itself, some words from Winry and some good brotherly bonding and he's back to believing he was actually human and his soul is affixed to the armour.

Humoristic element of Ed in the hospital, then showing more of Al's doubts, everything mixed in proper proportions and appeared in proper moments. Very good episode.

I feel sorry for Elric brothers even more. We knew their past and how they ended up like this, but now we could feel some of their very own emotions, mostly Alphonse's, but also those from Edward's side.

Winry was being unjustifiably harsh to Alphonse. She should be more understanding of Al's condition, no matter how tactless his confrontation was. Living in a hollow state, all he had to affirm his existence is someone else's word. I'm sure it was an emotional strain for him. Anyhow I'm glad that it was resolved, albeit rather quickly.

I'm really rooting for Scar. One of the better shonen antagonists in recent memory. I hope we'll get to see more of him.

Edward nearly got screwed because of that one screw but I guess that it's not totally Winry's fault since it was a total accident and it was the one mistake from a commission that took three whole sleepless nights to make. He survived and she fixed his arm anyway so all is well~ She did say that it's less durable but it didn't shatter at all during that last fight so it looks like she was humblebragging a bit too.

Alphonse had those conspiracy theory-level thoughts get the better of him and forgot to consider his brother's feelings about his current state as a soul affixed to a suit of armor. Actions speak louder than words but words are important too so I'm very glad that they had managed to talk it out and fix the issue thanks to Winry giving Al the first push after some pep talk from Hughes. Their brotherly bond made me tear up~
