Felt a bit melodramatic beacuse of the genre being comedy but the dark story catches me off guard.

I almost forgot Kazuki backstory in the 1st episode(?) but finally happy to see Rei doing responsibilities when Rezuki got fed as a househusband (as he should) rather being lazy for about 7 episodes.

But loving the scenery with the flowers. Visuals are strong and well.

Seems Kazuki's dead wife won't be a major plot point going forward. Feels mostly tied up here but hopefully it's still brought up during the series every now and then since you don't just fully get over something like that in one night. Anyway don't blame Kazuki for leaving in the morning but he was definitely away for too long. Course a bunch of stuff was overlapping with his deads wifes aniversary.

She'll probably still be in the major plot (the other assassin that shooted on the tire and caused the accident that killed her).

But that's just my thoughts, as the main reason this anime exists is to show the two dads raising Miri.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the series ended on a cliffhanger for a second season, as it's an anime original, so they could go "on and on" if they got a great story.

The character development is already pretty awesome for an original series as well.

PS : The OST at the end of the episode during the flower scene with Karin-chan was so good.

The story behind his deceased wife touched me very much, the gardens feels these emotions.
Now I understand why Kazuki is like this with Miri, she raised her with her heart.

hands down best episode till now.

kazuki's past hit harder than i thought. didn't know what to expect and was blown away upon finding out (sorry).

nah but fr, the whole sequence with the past and how kazuki is feeling about it was conveyed in a great manner. i could feel his despair through the screen. well done.

kazuki leaving the house was a good lesson for those two. at least they appreciate kazuki now.

i think its safe to rate this anime now and 9/10 it is. with how it's going, i won't be surprised if it becomes a 10 by the time it ends.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

Ngl, I think this is the first episode that disappointed me a lot with its execution. I felt that Kazuki's part of the story could have been handled better and not just explored and then resolved in a single episode. I'm also not a fan of how they resolved it by introducing a new character that would probably be irrelevant for the rest of the show. On one hand, the Karin and Kazuki scene gave us a good view of grief and suffering, but on the other hand, the scene also rings hollow. It should be emotional, and it certainly is with the way it was framed and animated, but looking behind it, it almost feels...cheap, I guess (a word I don't really want to use with this show but that's how it felt like). We didn't get to know much about Kazuki's dead wife. We only know that we need to feel sad because it was Kazuki and his wife is dead. They could have given us more glimpses of their moments together instead of just showing us first how she died (which would probably get more explanation later on in the show). Also, Kazuki has been grieving for years and avoiding his sister-in-law at the same time, but in just a single episode, almost everything has been resolved. There is no commitment to his conflict and character. The buildup is lacking. I appreciate the purpose of the episode to develop Kazuki, but the way it was delivered is less than satisfying to me.

The Rei and Miri parts were, at least, handled better. However, I also feel like the Kazuki and Rei development could have been tied better in this episode. So far, the show had been developing them separately and almost never together. There is not even an acknowledgment from each other about their issues and trauma even though they seemed to be friends for years and, more importantly, are now co-parents to Miri. Episode 7 seemed like a wasted opportunity to touch upon this. Of course, the next 6 episodes might tackle their background and development as a family further (hopefully) and I'll still be sticking around to see it happen, despite my disappointment in this episode.

Im a p.a. works fan, but im disappointed. This episode was just so average. half of it was only about how is it hard to raise a children (nothing else) and rest was... okay. Also there was no comedy and it just felt lame. I hope that the qualitty will return in the next episodes

This episode was so funny in the first half and then ouch, Kazuki's past hit my heart. And left me thinking, Miri is Kazuki's real daughter? Did his wife gave birth to the baby?

Kazuki and Rei both turned corners this episode.

Glad we finally found out the truth about the money packs. I can see why he blames himself, but it was an unfortunate accident.

We know why Kyu told that other guy not to be seen.

The best episode by far; so glad we got to see this background add some much needed texture to the show and to Mizuki. Also, Rei doing literally anything besides be a child! I feel like the show has kind of meandered since its start but if it comes at the rest of the show with this kind of focus I'll gladly hop aboard!

"Not my favorite time of year" same here, Kazuki. I don't like rainy season too, it is the most unpleasant time.

I was sad and touched when I heard about Kazuki's past, but I was relieved and happy to see that he could finally rid himself of guilt. Karin is a good little sister ;')

On the other hand, it was funny to see Rei looking like a real papa. Ordering food online and showing excessive panic when their child gets a fever xD

Waah, this episode was emotional but also so much fun! I felt sad, happy, moved, and laughed all in one episode. Loved it.

I would like to know why Rei has more favorites then Kazuki on MAL. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Rei but from what we've seen, Kazuki is basically "the mom" of the household while Rei is the "dad". While Kazuki (the mom) goes above and beyond for the household all the time and people think nothing of it, when Rei (the dad) does the bare minimum of effort, he is praised. It honestly rubs me the wrong way and makes me think of real life.

To all the hard working moms out there: you are amazing, you are strong, you are silently appreciated, and the world would not be able to function without you.

First half was such a pain to get through. It's like Kazuki and co. take turns every episode to see who becomes the most insufferable one. Like, I swear Rei wasn't this useless some episodes ago.

Second half was mediocre at best. The reason why Kazuki's wife died was very poor and for someone who died while supposedly being pregnant, both Kazuki and her sister sure didn't give a crap about the unborn child. Not even a mention or a word about him/her.

Honestly, this is the most underrated anime of the season, every message it gives you is based a lot on real events.
What happens to one when they lose their loved one.
Of not knowing what it is to take care of a girl because she is dedicated to video games, eating, sleeping and doing missions.
It's all so true in that harsh reality.
P.A. Works always surprises me to see something entertaining and funny, and then we go to see something serious and murky.

I always knew there was something sad about Kazuki but I want him to move on. He really loved his wife and kid. No wonder he misses them. Also, Rei and Miri got the lesson of what's it like without Kauzki Papa. I'm happy that Karin pushes Kazuki in the right direction. RIP Yuzuha and their baby.

This writer really named the sisters Yuzu(ko) and Karin. Yuzuko being the one that smiles and is positive and Karin being the one that tells you how it is. This dude hahah
I'm liking this series as it processes! I dropped it for a bit after episode 3, but I'm liking it more and more as it gets more depth. I'm not the biggest fans of Miri though. But that's mostly because I'm not a big fan of children with that personality and the voice acting is to high pitched for me. She's a good kid though.

a sad backstory to who the money Kazuki's sending is for. i wasn't expecting it to be for his sister-in-law, but i guess he felt guilty for his wife's death and robbing his sister-in-law of a sister. but it was a good learning curve for Rei too, maybe that'll help him be less selfish and lazy lol

I know the feeling when Kazuki stressed by all the house work... Poor Kazuki ... He taking care for two kids. Lol. It's also sad to see his pregnant wife died exactly in front of him... During he doing his dangerous work... It's all the another assassin fault.... Pretty sure the assassin will tell Kazuki later.
The rain stops and sunshine appear during that scene are actually.... Not wholesome at all for me... Something off...

Good way of forcing Rei to be more of a responsible parent I guess but they should also scold Miri more. Also sad to find out Kazuki lost his wife and unborn child right before his eyes.
