what other anime festival are you referring to?

The one from Higurashi
Higurashi is the only reason why I am not that excited about this anime coz it feels too similar to Higurashi....Stickin for the animation

I was thinking, from what it looks like shadows make clones when they kill the actual person. That’s what happened with Totsumura. But then Ushio and Mio have had shadows while still being alive?

If there can be shadows of living people, why don’t the shadow creatures go around copying and killing every islander? Just my thoughts.

The obvious answer is that having two people running around is suspicious as hell. They can easily disappear people once they kill them, so it's far more convenient to follow through with the deed. Not to mention there's currently no reliable way of differentiating a shadow from the person. A complete switcheroo is practically unnoticeable.

I wish they explained more on what the shadows actually are. They probably will later tho. Also I’m mad confused on the ending of this ep. Also, why tf is ushio helping the mc in a way? He hasn’t seen her in 2 years so I feel like she would have helped the other characters more. Idk tho

I have a nagging feeling Sou was exchanged with a Shadow during the night before the festival. It just... feels like it or he was a Shadow all along

I really can't help holding my breath watching these episodes, it's so strange. The way the tension is built and fear is communicated through the different direction plus voice acting is insane. Really good episode, let's see what happens next.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Whew Shinpei was saved this time by a hair's breadth. I wonder why Shadow Shiori left when Shiomi came, she could have just killed them both and then copy them. Unless they have limit to how many they can copy at a time or something.

Good to have Sou onboard too, is he the real one thou? Pretty obvious on who has feelings for who but I like Mio x Shinpei. Mio's really adorable and she looked beautiful in yukata.

what's up with the sudden incestuos relationships? i thought the fanservice was already bad cause it kinda killed the psychological thriller atmosphere, but now this turned into a cheesy pre-juvenile romcom?

Ushio has appeared! I don't think that's really her though... I understand the mc not being so apprehensive because he's still grieving. I don't think this meet up is going to be a good thing though!

That scene of Shinpei in the hallway with the shadow was real creepy. I thought for sure he was ded.

I'm suspicious of Sou. He seems to be hiding something.

So if I understand correctly only people with the sickness can see the shadows? Weird.

I wonder what that gift Ushio gave to Shinpei was in the opening scene of the first episode. Guessing his eye has some ability to reset time or something. Still bizarre tho.

Really good. The plot continues to thicken.

Is Ushio still alive? Or is it her shadow? Where do shadows come from? Why are shadows so aggressive?

I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS I LOVE THIS ANIME

Butts or boobs, both are great imo.

I thought he would die when he was facing Shiori, which was fine, because I figured he'd try to save the Kobayakawa family. I guess that's pretty low on his priorities, eh? Either way, that was a pretty creepy scene. Even though Sou suggested Shadows could be beaten, I can't see how they plan to fight back at the moment.

Theoretically Ushio's Shadow would be hanging out around the island, yeah? I mean, the other ones have been after all. Maybe she'll be the one not evil Shadow. Also, she'd potentially know the password to the phone too, so Shadow or not, I imagine she has a wealth of information about the situation in general.

Man... I can't describe how much I love that Ending song. Holy fuck... I love it so much. Things are even weirder now. Shinpei is trying his best to stay alive but this series is so unpredictable that I don't know when he's gonna die next.

Damn I was here looking for people mentioning how good the ed song is. And here I found one. Love that ed. I read the whole manga after watching this ep and with the ed on repeat. Made my experience worthwhile

Really strange idea with this story.. I bet it probably got some real legend behind it, will look into it later, but not much makes sense right now..

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

Okay. I am Shinpei, let me state some of the facts about the situation I’m in.

There are shadows who, when seen by their real copy, take their place and become evil versions living out the lives of the person replaced.

My friend has very recently died.

This friend saw one of these shadows shortly before her death.

It is ver likely that anyone I see with a resemblance to her is a shadow.

These shadows have a history of murdering me instantly if they find out I’m in on their secret.

I was already almost killed by one earlier this episode.

I see someone who looks like my deceased friend, and I could glean, through even a second of forethought, is a murderous shadow.

Isn't there enough intrigue and incentive to watch without adding obnoxious incestuous romantic entanglements among the primary friend group?

yeah this is the only comment i have about this episode. romance filler is sooo fucking unnecessary makes me glad that pirating websites usually have a button that lets you skip ahead a couple seconds. ending was profound, that fucken lighting <3__<3

So the timelines can cross over? That would be an intriguing element to the story.

I do not trust Sou... he clearly said that he would tell Shin about what he went to check out but the next day it was suddenly not important? That boy is a SHADOW!

I'm thinking that was Ushio's shadow and Shin is about to meet his death again. I think he really needs to find the oppai lady in order to gain the info he really needs to protect Mio.

Why, seriously WHY does there always have to be a familial relationship with these romance plots?!

I don't want to hear "she's my sister" or "we're family" followed by shots of your supposed sister blushing & her friend implying they should hook up...

It's weird & gross, no matter how you cut it. They could've just said family friends or she's "LIKE" a sister, but no... Japanese think the easiest IN for a guy is being related to the girl. No wonder so many mangaka get arrested for exactly what you'd expect.

Ah yes, the classic boobs vs ass.

The Ushio has to be a shadow, nice way of ending the episode by playing the ED over it.
