Azuchi said: Imouto is cute. That's like the only thing I can come up with right now. I like the slow wholesome feeling in this one. Hope it is like that and no stupid drama arrives. Also don't smell your nail clippers or feet. You'll ruin your wholesomeness. Haha There is drama in this manga, but it is not edgy and I very much doubt that the anime will do it at all someday. |

Another Cloverworks anime, I see. Visuals are gorgeous enough and I see it's going for a wholesome approach with Komichi's first day of middle school. While I get that the lingering shots of Komichi undressed and one of the students clipping their toes are meant to come off more natural than fetishized, I can see where some may feel a bit uneasy with seeing those shots involving preteen girls. But for now, I guess I'm interested enough in this to sample a few more episodes to see if this is anything I'd want to stick with. |

Got a few good laughs out of this, particularly the lil sister getting all salty about mc even considering changing the uniform. Definitely had some cute moments. The art style and design was beautiful, and the direction felt natural without any real problems. Nail clipping thing made me flashback to Nisemonogatari but still. Haha. That said though, it's really really really hard for me to turn off the realist in my head that insists there would definitely be a bullying tag for a show with this premise. People get bullied in schools for a lot less obvious differences that having a completely different uniform. Still enjoyed the episode, just a hard caveat to it. |

I really liked this first episode! The visuals were obviously fantastic, but I also think that the use of quiet moments in the episode really improved it. Also, that house is pretty much a dream house! |

That was some good art there. Also wearing the wrong thing to school/certain places brings back some personal trauma... it got too real too fast lol. |

I did not know what to expect from the title but this blew me away. Absolutely fantastic, the general atmosphere and the visuals are great. Full of life and energy and it's told in a very compelling fashion. I still don't know what to expect but I'm interested and invested, can't wait for more. Also, both sailor uniforms and blazers are a win in my books. |

Im impressed that this series got an anime. I always thought that would be too expensive series to animate, with the manga being very focused on movement study. Anyways looks great. |

Good first episode. Though, I’m curious to who this anime/manga is targeted towards or what it’s trying to accomplish. It looks very cute and innocent, but it also has fanservice-y parts. So, who is this show meant for exactly? No complaints either way |

Anyway, the visuals are very strong, i almost feel like i'm watching a fairy tale or something. Oh and the VAs are on fire with this one. Well ... it really is. As I said above, this is the kind of ecchi where fetishism is achieved through enjoying aesthetics, and not just boobs / butts. Of course, there are overtly sexual moments in the manga, but this is still aesthetics, not horny lewd content. But I don’t know how it will be adapted into anime, as such shows often become more lewd if the authors are not sure that it will attract enough audience in the first place. It's erotic and fetishy but it doesn't always seem like it is. Anyone could figure it out, it just rides the line between blatant ecchi and extremely detailed realism really well. So well that it could probably be argued that it's not fetishy but then you'd have to ignore chunks of it. ggultra2764 said: Another Cloverworks anime, I see. Okay here’s my opinion on it. The animation and visuals look really amazing to be honest, I was impressed on how well they pulled it off. However the actual story is just ehhhhhhhhhh, very interesting. (At least so far) There’s some scenes that I question why they added in. For example the butt slap scene, they didn’t need to do that, but they did for some reason, (even though it doesn’t effect the story at all) and I especially find it odd that they’re doing it to a character that we assume is underage. (but I won’t get into that) What I did enjoy in this episode is the wholesome parts, kinda refreshing to see that personally. Even though I find episode 1 pretty eh so far, I am interested on how the story will play out, so I’ll be tune in into episode 2 out of curiosity. In conclusion, this episode was very interesting to watch. |

My fellow weebs of all standings, in this day, not only one but TWO anime are we so gracefully blessed by CloverWorks...oh lord we are in a visual feast!!! I've actually read the first manga chapters of Akebi last year due to some random circumstances, and all I can say back then is "huh this a weird premise but I guess the art is good". With this anime, those thoughts of mine had gone exponentially high. The story is well pure and simple, Akebi wants sailor uniform, she got to her 1st school choice, and now she's in it, SOL stuff will happen, but everyone wore blazers because times have changed. Story is not that great, but what makes for it is the S-tier animation and artstyle that I cannot give more props for it, it's that great. If you're lucky enough, many shots and frames of this anime is certified wallpaper. It's free fucking wallpapers around here, it has never been this wet and nutty since Wonder Egg Priority bro. And now with all that said and done, ayo I want to talk about the FANSERVICE. I both watched the trailers for this and Sono Bisque, and I expected it in the latter but I did not expect it to be here as well. The shots throughout this episode featured some lovely ehem um ecchi shots, and boy was it impressive. A very great highlight is when Kao slapped Komichi's cheeks, that was hilarious and satisfying at the same time. With all that being said, I can say that this anime is already a Top 5 of this season. All it needs to do is keep the story interesting and cute for viewers like me, and it will have no problem. Also with the added CloverWorks tag, keep faith in the manga but from what I've seen this episode, I think they're on a right track. So yeah very good episode, starting up already with a BOP! |

It’s a bummer that such an insanely pretty anime is marred by poor character designs. Their head shapes and faces (especially the eyes and the profile view of their noses and chins) look so demented. They put so much effort into little details like the lighting in their irises or her cheeks sagging upwards when she was doing flips to show gravity and momentum, and yet they look like microcephalic aliens. Also what the fuck was that foot smelling scene? Jesus Christ that was weird. |

While I was looking at the screenshots I got from this episode, I can't help but laugh at this one specifically. No kidding, this shot looks straight out of a visual novel. There are some shots throughout this episode, but none came looking close to this one. I guess all they need to do is add a board of text at the bottom half and some music in the background to look like I'm playing an Akebi-chan VN. Now that I'm thinking about it, that ain't bad of an idea. |

Beautiful art work. I loved the house! Looking forward to next week. 2 things bothered me though. If she loved sailor suits so much and her mom could sew, why didn't she make one for her when she was little? Trivial but it annoyed me. The other was checking the uniform before making it. Of course there would be changes that's just common sense. No one would make a uniform w/o checking first. |

Ever since this was announced, I talked about on my podcast how this was one of my most anticipated shows and boy did it not disappoint what an amazing first episode. Some gorgeous visuals from CW in this one. Honestly feels more like a Kyoani show than CW. Testament to the creative talent at that studio. I kinda loved it, the art style is charming, the animation is insane for no reason and I didn't expect it at all for a good looking anime in 2022 but I love how it has a little bit of fanservice, let's see how it evolves, if it has the balls to show an upskirt (which I doubt since those are pretty much gone from any anime that isn't low quality ecchi these days) I'm giving it a 10 lol |

That was very cute, every character we got to meet was endearing, and the animation is very smooth and charming (especially when it comes to Komichi's hair). That said, the amount of times the camera randomly focused on feet is making me a bit worried, and the moment Komichi and her new friend smelled their feet definitely didn't help (my brain might've shut down for a second when I saw that girl sniffing her nail clipper). I hope it's not gonna lead to some weird fanservice because that really wouldn't fit. If it isn't too noticeable then I won't complain (at least as long as there's no more references to smelly feet because that's gross), I just wouldn't want the show to suddenly turn ecchi. |

A new CloverWorks anime, released in the same season as Sono Bisque. We were introduced to Komichi Akebi, a 12 year old girl that wants to go to the same school her mother went, to her and Kao's happiness (her little sister). After succeeding in the test for the school, she went to buy a sailor uniform with her mom. But it turns out that the uniform wasn't used by the school anymore. After the opening ceremony, Komichi felt sad about it. But in the first day, she decided to go with it either way. And turns out that Komichi met a new friend there, called Erika Kizaki. Erika was smelling her feet after cutting her nails, right when Akebi showed up. After this strange event, they slowly became friends. I'm happy Erika saw Akebi's uniform as a natural thing. This anime is refreshing. I'm glad I picked it this season. |

Gosh, why is the art style so damn inconsistent? Is it because of that Sakuga Flex for character motions? What's up with the amount of barefoot shots? What's up with that random girl smelling her feet? Either way, I'm conflicted, such a questionable production quality (checks studio) Oh. It's cloverworks, that explains why. Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks the visuals are incredibly stunning, but it's let down by the character models looking incredibly derpy and off model most of the times. I literally don't understand how people say everything looked amazing when you have shots that derpy. |

Some chapters will literally be just a bunch of "beautifully drawn girls" with no background whatsoever. Not that it's a bad thing, we all know what we're buying. Lol, not everyone is aware of what they're buying. I've seen a few people on other sites talk about how innocent this series is. And they don't mean that in a fetish way they seem to legitimate not see the erotic elements in it. But this is literally a series about a gentle teenage girl who is obsessed with a fetish of clothes and constantly gets into erotic positions. What did they expect? |

That was some weird dream she's got. Wonder where it'll go from here, it felt like her character arc is completed already. |

It's not that they're expectations where not met they just don't see any of it as erotic. You can see an example of this in the "Am I the only one?" thread. You'll see tones of people arguing that there was nothing erotic about this episode and there are people on other websites who have seemingly read the manga and talking about how it's not erotic what so ever. It's honestly interesting to watch, I wonder how long the denial is going to last for some. |

Another anime I had no idea what to expect from ended up blowing me away, ended up really liking this. Show obviously looks amazing too due to Cloverworks (I’m hoping they’re okay from the amount of anime they’re doing this season) and the episode itself was great, it would definitely be a hard decision to stand out or be like everyone else when it comes to your uniform, but she makes a friend the second she walks in the classroom lol, loved their interaction too. This is definitely another Saturday show to look forward to. And that ED was great too, very nice song and visuals. |

Can we get a confirmation whether this author has a foot fetish or something? I mean innocent looking animation and environment aside, there was a lot of strange feet fanservice (a odd smelling one). |

Part of me wants to see this as a normal pure SoL anime and another part of me notices the more fetishist material this anime panders towards. Which are abundantly more obvious in the manga. So we get character acting sakuga and fetish material with JCs for Akebi-chan. |
