Why everybody is so obsessed with the sex scenes when the majority of them sucked so much in the VN?

Majority? All of them sucked.

They just sucked less than the H-alts bar the lesbian one.

Rin just took off her sweater... what's she so upset about? It's not like she was naked or even just wearing a bra. She still had a shirt on!

smh... Parasyte showed Shinichi and Murano having sex; is there any reason FSN couldn't have done it the way Parasyte did?

It was a good episode. I just don't understand the purpose of that change.

They just went with the RN version for the scene, both are equally horrible anyway so who cares.

Well, the original COULD have been done well. The context and act itself is realistic with these two teenagers... Shirou just could have been a bit more... eh... you know what I mean.

Rin is an awful tsundere. At this point, I think I like her even less than Saber, what a disappointment this have been since Archer's pathetic change of mind, and Gil stupid plot.

That would only be true if we count in the absolute trash shows.
So even if it is "better" it is still nowhere near the top like it should be

Nah they just didn't know who they wanted to aim this at. Eventually they just went "fuck everything, this is for VN readers."

But is it?

Every episode has moments where they go "This is totally for zero people" then "this is totally anime original" then 'this is totally for VN readers".

You realize "staff" means there's more than one person writing, right?

If the writing seems variable, then blame the director or whoever is credited with series composition.

They didn't need to show Shirou and Rin actually having sex; I'm not asking for a hentai. Just, you know, the implication that they did with a brief explanation on why. It's not anything that couldn't have aired on TV or would've needed censored.

lmaol @ people complaining about the anime's Shirou/Rin relationship being mediocre as if the relationship in the VN wasn't. Can't make a relationship good in the anime if it wasn't good in the source material, boyos.

Well it is. Shirou/Rin banter is easily the most beautiful thing in whole FSN in each route and Shirou/RIn is easily up there with Shiki/Arc and Mikiya/KNKShiki as best nasuverse pairings.

To see such a beautiful pairing of two halves who complete each other, save each other and troll each other be turned into......this is damn sad.

I didn't really mind this episode. For me at least it hit pretty much all the right notes, though they continue to really push Rin's tsun attributes. But, eh, I'm used to it by this point to be honest.

Something lost in translation:
The word Rin uses for 'success' after the chest touching (成功) is a pun on the word for 'sex' (性交). It's not one-hundred percent clear which word she's actually using as both have the exact same pronunciation.

Just something I noticed while watching. I'll leave that here and move on...

I have to wonder how much was lost in translation, I doubt this is the only thing that was missed throughout the entire adaptation. Thanks for that.

Rin's embarrassment coupled with Shirou's stupidity makes things quite amusing.

First, that H scene is a pain in the ass to adapt. I've come to terms with that a long time ago, and so my intention was to take whatever solution ufotable came up with in stride. It didn't stop it from being hard to watch though. Watching Shirou and Rin dance around the issue as if they were talking about sex was awkward as hell, but again, knowing the context and both the audience and format of this adaptation, I'll just take it.

Second, that last scene. Did I accidentally pop in End of Evangelion or something?

Besides those two points, nothing else really stuck out to me this episode. I suppose a minor point would be Saber accepting her situation. I know she goes through this as well in her own route, but seeing her like this in UBW almost seems like she accepted being sidelined. No wish, no happy end, nothing. And she's fine with it. Damn. That's either some extreme character growth or a quick solution from a writing standpoint. I'm going with the former though, as it lets me enjoy the show a little more than I already am.

it's UBW Saber finds the resolution she was looking for and had kept her issue to herself.....why would she still have a wish after that? especialy knowing there is no "wish" that can be granted in the first place....Saber can't be the main spotlight character in EVERY single Fate route. shit Arcueid barely even appeared in a number of the routes in tsukihime....

That's what I meant. It finally hit her that it's a dead end for everything she worked for, but she came to terms with it when she resolved to destroy the Grail by her own decision.

Here, Miura, I just saved you a good few minutes of episode you now can spend on actual meaningful content this adaptation lacks, like, for example, Shirou's characterization.

That's another answer to the problem, keeping in line with the original while sidestepping the actual event. It reminds me of Tsukihime, strangely enough, so I wonder how JC Staff managed to get away with that, while UBW went with what it did.
