 During the opening ceremony of the establishment for the full-scale Freedom Gundam statue in Shanghai on Friday, Bandai Namco Group announced a project titled Gundam Seed Project Ignited. The project, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED anime series, features multiple installments, including the sequel film that was announced in 2006. Mitsuo Fukuda is returning to helm the film. The original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED television anime aired between Fall 2002–2003 in 50 episodes. The 50-episode Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny sequel anime series aired from Fall 2004–2005, followed by the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Final Plus: The Chosen Future OVA in December 2005. | Seed is very very VERY far from my favorite but honestly it's good to see this escape from development hell, maybe give us some time with Shinn post development which we were absolutly robbed of in seed destiny's 2nd half in favor of turning kira into jesus. And honestly there's a subsect of Seed haters that might be the single most hostile and aggressive part of this already pretty hostile fanbase so anything that pisses them off is probably for the best. |

| Eclipse looks very nice, if anything it can't be as bad as Seed Destiny. I hope the game isn't mobile, because Gundam Seed Battle Destiny on the Vita was incredibly addicting, if anything Seed and Seed Destiny had some great games, there were like 2 stinkers on the PS2 out of the more than half dozen Gundam Seed games. |

If this film can make up for the disappointment created by Seed Destiny, then I will give it a chance. Seed had some good OPs and EDs Still like the Toonami version of the ED for nostalgia |

| So at LONG last they're finally starting production on this movie. Better late than never. Looking forward to it anyway, let's hope it won't be as bad as Seed Destiny. Meanwhile we're still waiting for Hathaway's Flash :( I would also love to see a completely new AU series now that Build Divers is over. |

I watched Seed and Seed Destiny in 1 month completely. Hopefully the movie ends better than Seed Destiny that wasn't a really satisfied ending. |

| I know theres a project for seed on going behind the scene. but now they come and announce it officially, im really excited. means they already going full speed now. it doesnt matter if destiny getting a lot of flak overseas, but just from seeing how they treat the HD remaster with many re-draw scenes compared to other older series already shows Seed has a lot of audience (and haters), its worth their money to produce. | this is the most excited I have ever been for an upcoming anime, especially because I had lost all hope for this happening. I'm curious whether this takes place far enough in the future that we'll get new Gundams, or if it will use the Destiny suits. At least we'll probably get some cool new Gunpla from this lol. |

oh i remember that part. i cry a little when that song appear. Kira went thru a lot in Seed. also like how the romance interests help him by becoming his mental support. unlike in some other series where they sometime drag down the MC. its no wonder why people want him back in destiny when it aired (beside the strike freedom kit reason) time to re-watch seed i guess |
| Wow... I'd say better late than never. Maybe in the minority here but Seed is by far my favorite Gundam series. Destiny was a little eh for me cause they fucked up Shin so much and could have just had Kira play a more minor role but they just had to shove him and be the mc for the last half of the show, I never really would have minded that but the way it transitioned was off. Wonder whom the MC of this sequel film will be, will it be someone new that Kira, Shin and Athrun needs to fight or play a role model too or instead will we have all 3 of them be the MCs, if so then I dont see how anything can be a match for them unless we talking about a massive handicap where Kira fights in a zaku, Anyways yall heard of the backstage controversies behind this right? we most likely could have gotten this sooner but damn.. also I wonder if Cagali's va will come back considering what happened. Im pretty sure Shin will be calmer now, probably akin to Kira when he started calming down during the 2nd half of Seed. | Sunrise imo dug themselves into a whole by creating too many alternate timelines that were not able to compete with modern anime franchises. Wing, 00, IBO, G Figter. That is just too many alternate timelines that people are not going to care about. Ultimately, I think people are going to skip these series altogether if they are never going to lead anything. This Seed anime film is definitely long overdue. But I am not sure if Sunrise has any plans to add more ovas or films to seed since the writer passed away. I don't care what anyone thinks, Gundam Seed is the most successful Alternate Gundam timeline. Just go to your gunpla store and see the aisle of seed kits. |
