I'm still impressed by the interactions in this series. All the characters seem to know each other so much and get really meaningful dialogues. It can go through stupid jokes or taunts, but it's very authentic.
I would really like most series to imitate Haikyuu!! on this aspect.

Impressive animation when Kageyama yells against his teammates. I don't know who was the key animator, but definitely we have really talented staff. ^_^

The key animator is Sachiko Fukuda.

Thank you very much (^v^)

I can't even focus on the story anymore, because i'm watching a slide show of bad animation. This was the worst episode by far.

quite the opposite im my case
I was too focused on the episode to notice the flaws inanimation, if there were any in the first place
Enjoyed the episode

I didn't expect Kageyama's development to suddenly go backwards but whatever. It's still fun seeing them argue.

It's not going backwards. He's actually learning a lot right now that will be useful down the road. After making his team hate him in middle school he started holding back his opinions and criticisms in fear that his team mates wouldn't want to play with him (hence the goody two shoes comment). Now he is learning that it's okay to lay out criticisms but the show makes a point to show that he's still not great at that and still tends to word things in confrontational ways and he needs to work on that. But this is spurring them to criticize each other because at the end of the day they are there to win games not make each other feel good. I am happy that they are willing to call out each other and willing to be called out because if you are actually playing/working with someone who only ever has good things to say or never has any harsh criticisms it comes off as very fake and disingenuous and prevents the whole unit from being the best they can be.

I enjoyed this episode a lot more than the previous. The previous episodes were good but they mainly felt like constant setup without the spike to me but this episode was a perfectly executed set and Spike for me.

Man the negativity in this thread is just too much.

People still complaining about the animation need to get their eyes checked. Or watch more sports anime.

People complaining about this season just being training must have forgotten pretty much everything from previous seasons.

Or maybe this season is clearly inferior to the previous ones and some people are mindlessly defending it.
Maybe.

It's not an objective fact that it's inferior, and people are allowed to like things you don't.

I'm not mindlessly defending anything lol, people's takes on this season are just extremely exagerrated.

Just look at every other sports anime or anime in general and realise how good this looks, even if the other seasons looked even better.

before watching: im scared im scared im scared im scared im scared pls dont turn on each other pls dont turn on each other let's all get alonggg we can talk this out >x<

oh my god thank you for understanding noya >>"
based on the title of this episode, i hope it's not what i think it is. pls don't revert back, kageyama >.<
hinata is right about kageyama being strangely quiet and yachi sees that he's seems scarier.. i hope he doesn't blow up....
you can see kageyama starting to get frustrated since he's no longer playing with highly skilled players at that camp. im still so scared even after the noya thing...

*he blew up*
DJFKSDJFKSDJF KAGEYAMA YOU ARE MAKING IT VERY HARD FOR ME TO WATCH THIS TOBIO DJFKSDKFSK PLEASE PLAY NICE WITH YOUR TEAMMATES 'then make the damn point' OH MY GOD STOP
even his animation changed AAAAGGHGGGHGHGGGGHHH nooooooooo kageyama you're going to the dark side again TToTT

lmao hinata ily and your stupidly, bright attitude
the coach and everyone know kageyama and how he is so im glad kageyama's horrible attitude isn't getting in the way TT^TT i doubted them and i shouldn't have.

lol asahi apologizing in advance XD

im glad they've come to terms with whatever and kageyama has reclaimed the title of king of the court with a new meaning. that's great for him!

tsuki is hitting higher, hinata is observing closing and nitpicking where it needs to be nitpicked, kageyama is keeping close attention to his teammates conditions (although not subtly or nonchalantly lmao but he can work on that XD). I'm glad there' more communication going on compared to before. tsuki, hinata, and kageyama are all using their newfound skills from their training camps and i love it.
it's true the team is always evolving, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse but karasuno will continue getting stronger because of how it's never stagnant. i think a semblance of balance has been achieved again within the team.

these practice matches were very eye opening and gave a glimpse of new rivals and opponents for the future. dateko was the perfect team for karasuno to play against because of how strong each of them have become.
can't wait for the next episode!!!!

Kageyama best boy, I love his character development. Even when he yelled at the team, his regretful expression afterwards was impactful. It is important to communicate properly with others, because if we don't, we end up snapping without them knowing what they did wrong. I think it's going to be better from now on, Kageyama will not focus as much on tailoring his sets to every player's strengths and weaknesses but also try to challenge them to be better.

I really loved the Karasuno interactions in this episode. Also really enjoying that the match with Dateko wasn't as short as I expected it to be, given that we haven't seen Dateko play much lately. I mean even in their match with Seijoh we barely saw a few points.

Kageyama was really annoying again, but I hope it will only make him better. The actual problem I have here is that sometimes I feel like Karasuno players just suddenly forget all the new attacks and tactics they learned in previous matches (even ones they had to use to get through hard blocks like Date's and so on), and just go for regular spikes. I wonder how they even have enough scores still, cause they barely show any :/

Kageyama returned as King and evolved and I liked it how the team pretty much accepted it, and Hinata comes and saves the day every fricking time. And the team pretty much evolved too on skills and mentally too, and I really like how Kageyama pushes them all to remove those flaws and work much on a better team with what he'd done in his conversations with Tsukishima, Tanaka and Nishinoya.

And Date-tech sure is getting stronger and scarier as time passes even though they are transferring to a new generation of players. Surely, they will be a stronger opponent on next official tournaments.
And what funny and great episode, Hinata scolding and picking a fight with Kageyama as Tsukishima does, and its cute how Yamaguchi protects Tsukishima vice-versa.

great episode of character development this is the growth that kageyama being at the training camp was a catalyst for. karasuno is truly his team where he belongs he has his own flaws too & it was so nice seeing them embracing & helping him grow ♥♥

tsukki & kageyama interactions never fail to crack me up lol

THE NEW KING OF THE COURT IS BORN, that was so good, making its way to my personal favourite moments of haikyuu, LOVED THAT

Grr Karasuno is such a fail in this practice match

But it's good that Kageyama is speaking up though he needs to soften his tone. It's even cooler how observant Hinata has become. He's very in tune with Kageyama mentally. They're such a great duo.

I actually feel like I wouldn't get the point of this episode if it weren't for the comment about Kageyama enabling the spikers bad habits (e.g. Tsukishima hitting the ball low/not jumping high enough). IMO the episode felt all over the place, wasn't getting the point clearly across and Kageyama's character felt on the verge of unbelievable I'm afraid. It was very disconnected and too sudden. I feel like a lot of the characters personalities in this show are shifting after the last season and it's a bit off putting for me.. Other characters I feel it with especially are Sugawara and Asahi. I'm really enjoying Hinata's development and I love watching their journey of getting better in volleyball but idk I feel like some of the charm of the previous seasons are lacking..

All commercial break animations are repetitive and boring. At least they could add more Karasuno players there but nop. Well it's the only negative change of this season so far. The animation is ok, I don't understand how many people complain about this.

Kageyama being a bitch is funny hahaha
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

I'm surprised everyone liked Kageyama's development so much. I'm hesitant to call it development, really. He devolved. I don't understand how being rude to your teammates, that have done nothing but support and encourage you, is a good thing. Obviously it's good that he's able to speak about his opinions more openly, but does he have to be so harsh? I don't think having a bad attitude helps the team...

Idk bro it just feels like we're back at square one despite the fact that they just took down the strongest team in the prefecture. Heck they are heading to the nationals soon but I don't feel any of that energy man. I loved the first two seasons because they were hype asf and got my adrenaline pumping. Maybe it's just me expecting too much from this series, but I'm just gonna say that this "to the top" season feels like they're just chilling at the bottom. Yeah of course they need to continue to train to get better for the nationals, but this training just doesn't feel like they're preparing for the NATIONALS if you feel me.

If you're still enjoying this as much as the exceptional previous seasons, then I'm happy for you. Maybe you can share some of that enjoyment with me.

I think it would have been better if they tried to focus more on the fact that Kageyama was accommodating spikers' bad habits too. Some more focus on Kageyama would have been better.
But anyway, it was a really good episode.
That scene with Hinata "crowning" Kageyama was great.

wait, why did this episode ended? just when i thought that it were about to begin, it ended. lol
frankly, while i still feel that something weird about the amount of action and the animation, i do like how there's more concentrating on the story and development while the game over going. and it's also more because this is training arc.

loved how they "solved" kageyama issue. he indeed needs more to break out his method rather than adjusting it down, or he will not get the best out of the players.

something that i gotta agree with the discussion here, is that karasuno indeed do not feels as the team that going nationals.
truly they didn't won shiratorizawa with golden hands but struggled very hard to achieve it, but then again, they supposed to be the upper team.
just compare this practice match to the first episodes in the training camp where other students looked up to hinata. dateko seriously mocking karasuno here.

This episode feels misplaced. King of the court troubles this late in the season? Feels like a season 1/2 kind of problem. I still hate the way Asahi looks this season.

Also they nerfed my homegirl Yachi. I miss her previous overreactions.
