This was like watching a 2 minute news story in that I didn't get a lot of backstory on any of the episode characters. Basically 2 rich guys....one a detail noticing rich guy with an investigative mind. The other was a rich guy who was a pedo killer but liked good food. One dad was mad enough to want revenge and rich guy 1 gave it to him. Both rich guy 1 and his side kick are blondes and probably can share the same hair care products. It was interesting enough to watch the upcoming episodes but so far it's like eating potato chips.... snack level anime. 6/10 and hoping the side kick gets his hair out of his eyes.

A bit edgy and with a lot of bishounens, but overall a well-done show in terms of directing.
Nice art & animation. I'll give it some more episodes, because why not.

Lol. I don't know why but i felt a strong vibes after Moriarty just said, 'a perfect crime'. Such a nice way to get different ending as a usual detective cases theme of show, you finished the killer off, and became a consultant of the crime itself. Still, his reason kinda lacking knewing the flashback just not enough. A noble situations was only a hint that somehow led to the real situations of that time. Well, i think Moriarty just wanted to gave a proper justice, even for the average citizen, to get their revenge done. The MC became the antagonist, so where was the protagonist? You could check that by yourself. Lol.

Interesting story and really promising to see the interaction between Moriarty and Sherlock. Well, this might stick on my list until the end on my fullest attention, really looking forward for the next one.

Honestly, this was way better than IWGP, damn I am so fucking salty about that show lol. I mean, as first episodes go, this one already has my vote and I wasn't even anticipating it as much as I did IWGP. I forgot when I watched it but I enjoyed Kabukichou Sherlock which was pretty wacky and I thought this series was just handsome/pretty men (ikemen) doing gay stuff together show similar to that. I am liking everything so far. I don't mind an episodic series as long as they're well done.

My favorite part, also the part I didn't expect, was him letting the tailor get revenge by stabbing the child killer with a pair of scissors while tied up. I wish, they could've shown him actually stabbing said child killer.

Okay, I need clarification, was the child killer a vampire, cannibal or did he rape boys before murdering them? Was he a mix of all?

This definitely has potential. They are really going for the vampire look with those bright red eyes. Plus all the other imagery. I'm hoping this will be not super episodic and more multiple episode mini arcs that sometimes might flow into each other.

Yeah, right, basically might be like that, and he would met Holmes here. Because, you know, he was the mastermind of the crimes, let that tailor kill. So, he solely the enemy of the real detective such as Holmes. Thats why i am really curious seeing their interaction (if they have) on these anime. Thats what i've learnt so far. Maybe i am wrong. But, since people do not help answerring either, thats my initial thought about these one. XD

That was a good start. Gave a lot of Kuroshitsuji vibes. The music is nice.

About the ED I thought it would be soothing like how it was in Kabukichou Sherlock, but now it's too party party XD
I like the song as Stereo Dive Foundation fan but it definitely doesn't go with this kind of anime...

Loved the first ep. Moriarty is deliciously amoral. The ED seemed quite out of place, but somehow it worked. Character designs top notch, I’m glad the Production IG didn’t make them all seem like KnB clones (still mad about the LOGH remake designs :/)

This was a really nice first ep! I like the way Moriarty was portrayed as someone who isn't necessarily evil but definitely has a very twisted mindset which I'm hoping means that as the anime progresses, we get to see him become more psychotic.

I liked the atmospheric animation and the ED being such a contrast to the shows setting and tone is really cool! Character designs resemble Psycho-Pass which is an art style I loved so that's awesome too!

As a side note; the Moriarty brothers are very alluring trio hehe 😍

My first seasonal anime! I liked this episode - I don't think the purpose of this episode like some others mentioned in this thread was to build a great mystery with some big plot twist, but rather to present a relatively predictable plot that shocks the viewer when he just lets the father torture/kill the culprit.

Excited to see where it goes from here! Never read the manga so not sure what to expect - hoping for maybe a little bit more mystery and possibly some multi-episode stories? Not sure there's enough time to flesh a whole case out in one episode.

Agree with everyone about the ED haha - not sure who chose that? Oh well, doesn't really have a large affect on the experience for me

I'm really loving the vibe of this, really has the tension of a mystery without being a true one. The color decisions really stood out to me, and the music was also perfectly done. I didn't expect this to be good, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Same shit as Sherlock Holmes but with an antagonist point of view (considering my POV's based on Sherlock Holmes stories that I read) : interesting. It goes out of the full justice/lawful good thema, introducing something closer to chaotic good (or perhaps neutral good).

What the fuck is that music choice for ending lmao.

Overall, this was fine. I just didn't like how they use black and white to make red stand out, it feels so edgy and basic as an artistic choice, but that's just me nitpicking.

I liked the pacing and Moriarty doesn't bullshit his way to the truth.

Not bad. It kept me wondering about the thrilling suspense of the story and the way Moriarty is protrayed is intriguing.

With split cour confirmed recently, there's plenty of room for more character development in their "twisted world of crimes".

The "Perfect Crime". Yup, I'm a sucker for anti-villain characters like these.

Starting off with a random kid far into the future stumbling across Sherlock Holmes and Prof. Moriaty was kind of cliche but not a bad one necessarily.

Pretty cool scene when Moriaty gave the victim's father a couple of minutes there to get it done and dusted. Leaving the body in a find-able place purposely in a world where Sherlock Holmes exists, I don't know about that lol.

Definitely curious to see how this'll progress over the 2-cours!

I've seen two shows recently with a new take on the Sherlock theme. Enola Holmes which is just a woke character sex swap to make the female MC superior to the male. MBB of course being awesome as always. Then this bad ass take on the original source material with some Moriarty perspective. Its so dark I'm not even sure who I should be routing for. Let the killing commence!

This first episode got my very interested how this will continue.

Since it looks like the main character seems like he's already at his top capabilities, I'm curious if they continue from this point onward or perhaps tell his story towards this point.
Whatever the case, I delightfully look forward what will occur.
I like the spotlight on the main antagonist

interesting bishounen take on the infamous Sherlock Holmes antagonist, Moriarty. As someone who absolutely devoured all the Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels as a young teen, I'm looking forward to seeing how much of the Holmes lore they integrate into the story.

it was alright but I'm still confused like what was that dude doing to the kids besides murdering them, and like why was he doing that to them in the first place? Why did the detective only let ONE of the fathers take revenge on this guy when multiple people had been impacted? There's no way that was the "perfect" crime, he's a noble right? They're bound to find out that dudes missing eventually aren't they? And just because the dudes dead doesn't mean the police won't still be investigating the deaths of all those kids??

Everyone else is saying this show is good but I've still got questions and only one episode. Also, would the case really be *that* hard for the police to solve? I feel like if maybe we had gotten even like a smidgen of an explanation for who this guy was, why he did what he did, and so forth then maybe it'd make more sense. But the show just lets one of the dads murder the killer in the end, so we never get to find out why, and it kind of feels like the show is gonna go down this "It doesn't matter why because they're shit people" route, which is just gonna leave me really unsatisfied.

I want to keep watching though because we haven't met all the characters yet, and I did see that Sherlock and Watson are in the opening of the show so maybe this whole "not revealing the motives" thing will stop happening when they're introduced into the show.

I think the one father was paying or something along those lines, furthermore, I wouldn't ask too many questions in this case, the episode was more meant as an introduction with a quick mystery, and tried to set the tone
