True. Kohaku vs. Tsukasa looked good, but each next fight seemed to look worse. While it's understandable that Chrome vs. Magma wouldn't be full of effects, 'cause the main theme of this fight was defeating raw strength with science, I found quite average battle between Tsukasa's troops and Ishigami Village. It didn't look that bad objectively speaking and it didn't look disatsterous as some people pointed out, but could be definitely better. It looked fine, as if the battle itself was not a big deal, while it was. It looked bad, though, if we compare it to the source material's version of it. Manga, as you said before, looks beautiful in every scene. Boichi has a huge talent not only to drawing, but to show dynamism in his drawings. It's awkward to say that manga's version was way more dynamic than anime's adaptation, but that's how it is.

But despite those flaws I see as small ones, I think this adaptation is great. It is faithful to the source material, without unnecessary fillers or rushing and presents decent quality of audiovisuals. It is not on level of sakuga "Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime, but it's still great to me.

(by the way, no need to say that "anime" is for English "animation", LOL)

Ahh unfortunatelly. I just didn't want to remind about how many animes lately suffer from the same problems. That's why maybe I didn't count them as a thing in Dr. Stone and focused on different elements. Although, even if it is noticeable in some scenes, the general consistency was good so far. We can find latest animes that had this element presented in a way worse way, yet they are called as animes having a good visuals. So let's not be that much critical of Dr. Stone. ;p

It had it moments and was fairly entertaining.

A solid 7.7 for the series, which rounds it up to an 8.

Anyone scoring this lower than 5 are just trolls or trying to be edgy critics.

I really didn't start this show because it had this rigid character animation. But then when I started it for once, just couldn't stop. What an amazing journey it has been. Now can't wait for the Stone wars.

Also does anybody know where to start the manga chapter from?

I recommend starting from chapter 60 (Angel's Song, Devil's Whisper). Volume 7 starts with chapter 53 (episode 21) if you want to read by volume.

I loved the final episode. Wow !, this anime surprised me from beginning to end with each episode. Without a doubt, it is a completely unique shounen, it has nothing to envy others. Needless to say, it is one of the best anime of the year and is, unquestionably, one of my favorites, it earned my appreciation and affection 😁. This is not goodbye, it is a see you soon. And many will look forward to the premiere of the second season. Without further ado, it was a great pleasure to see the first part of this fascinating story that, in my opinion, is the best of the year.

Score: 9.5/10

HOT DAMN, to end this season with Best Dad's transmission from the infinite universe (before his demise) was the sweetest blessing for Senku, going for gold absolutely, ten billion percent!

With the "phono-speaker" cell phone, historic 1st words are said. Can't believe that Chrome chose to elevate science than confess to Ruri, but it's a given to how much he's influenced by Senku, and being invested for life.

But it's also a Hundred Story Tale that Best Dad has kept in secret: a voice recorder. And unwrapping this record in the Stone Age isn't as easy as is in the Modern Age, so Senku's ingenuity and everyone's efforts are needed.

The last transmission being the (possibly last) song from Lilian before humanity perished with the petrification, it was all too great with tears and fun. *tears just can't stop rolling*

The most spectacular, best episode, and best ending to send us off before the Stone Wars in Season 2. Glad to see that Taiju and Yuzuriha are well, but this cliffhanger upheaval of a battle is ONLY JUST STARTING!

Definitely ten billion percent one of the best anime of the year, without question! 9.5/10

this series was really a pleasant surprise for me this year. I remember commenting on the CR facebook page when they were promoting it having no idea what it was about and finding the title weird. No one ever replied to me, so I decided to jump in and give it a watch and man am I glad, it's been an amazing 24 weeks and I'm sad that it's over. Legit had tears in my eyes the whole episode. Such a really fresh take that I haven't felt since Log Horizon. Amazing show, amazing year of anime. See you all in Winter. Can't wait to see Stone Wars animated.

So looks like S2 will end with them setting off to find the source of petrification and s3 will be pet island

I know I know, I see why people love this show.
However, it just didn't hit me as much as it did for other people. The comedy can be a little uninspiring and relies too much on absurdity, there were some instances that I chuckled, but that's it. The characters are fine, but nothing special, Senku is the epitome of absurd and I prefer protagonists more grounded.
"Just ignore seriousness and it'll be better", my developing taste seems to say otherwise.
Overall, 6/10. Not bad, not mediocre, but not good.

This was a very satisfying end to one of my favorite shows from the entire year. From the art style (...for the most part) to the sound design to the animation, I enjoyed Dr. Stone a lot and it makes me very excited for the general direction Shounen's are heading in. I can't wait for Season 2, and I hope it delivers as much as this one did! 8/10.

Oh! Hi, Taiju, Yuzuriha and Homura. I thought the director had completely forgotten about you guys.

Decent final episode in general. It did a nice job at wrapping things up for the upcoming war against Tsukasa and his empire.
The second half was especially interesting and though the idea of recording a song was too cheesy for my taste, the overall scene was handled in a quite satisfying way.

Overall, it was an average season. The beginning was promising but the inclusion of Tsukasa's character was a real let down. Seriously, the main plot line regarding his absurd vendetta against adults was easily the worst part of this series and I couldn't help but roll my eyes every time said topic was brought up.
In contrast, most of the episodes focused only on items crafting were truly enjoyable to watch. I know this kind of series need conflict but I honestly wouldn't have minded if there were more episodes with just the gang making inventions.

Regarding the cast and leaving Tsukasa aside, both Taiju and Yuzuriha were extremely boring and as a result, Senkuu ended up carrying the show by himself during the first cour. Fortunately, the second cour made up for that issue with the completely removal of said characters and the addition of new and better ones (Chrome, Kohaku and Gen) in order to give more balance to the scientific aspect of the story.

5/10 - I was honestly expecting more from this series considering the amount of hype it got but I guess it was too... "shounen" for me in the end. Man, if only Tsukasa were a more convincing antagonist...

Anyways, a second season was announced and I still have curiosity to know about what happened to this stone world so I might as well watch it when it arrives.

Fun watch overall, best being all the village convincing SoL parts where they made cool things from scratch. Didn't really like anything that had to do with Tsukasa and the savages. They go into micro detail on the science explanations and then just handwave all of the battle aspects. It doesn't mix well. I am concerned how good season 2 will be since it seems to be more battle oriented.

Well damn it, this was one of the most satisfying anime of this year. It started out so slowly that I didn't think it will get any interesting but oh boy was I wrong. This was an amazing ride, and the last couple of episodes almost made me tear, the villagers gift to Senku (who is born on the same day as me) then how everyone in the village helped Senku make the "cell phone", and then finally Senku's father gift to the everyone in the future. Now let the stone wars commence. I wonder how people 200 years in the future from this point in the story would think about these stone wars xD.

58/60 episode points = 4.83 for Dr. Stone (Season 1)

Maybe it wasnt perfect, but in my opinion it had good animation all season, it was entertaining (22 of 24 episodes) and sometimes you could really feel it... something that 90% of animes/series doesnt have.

9.66 of 10.0 may look too high, but then if you compare it with other series, you'll know is fair.

PS: i expected more of this last episode.
