| https://myanimelist.net/manga/110049/Kagitsuki_no_Alter Reading the latest chapter I realized that the オルタ in the title isn't just short for "alternative" (which is suggested by the English subtitle, "Crescent Alternative"), but also a transliteration of the Turkish word orta meaning "center" (as someone who grew up in a Turkic country I should have realized this earlier...). A panel near the end of the chapter (bottom half of page 859 of the January 2018 edition of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine) has the phrase 三日月の中央 ("center of the crescent moon") with the furigana オスマン帝国のオルタ ("orta of the Ottoman Empire"); the manga uses lots of other Turkish terms as furigana, and this particular phrase is also a clear allusion to the manga's title. I believe the main title should be "Kagitsuki no Orta", with "Kagitsuki no Alter" possibly as a synonym. |

| There are multiple entries for Pokémon Special / Pokémon Adventures. This series is one long manga written by the same author, with many interconnected "chapters" focusing around different characters/games. But in the database each chapter is listed separately. This is incorrect. As can be seen in the below link, the tankobons are numbered sequentially with Yellow following Red/Blue/Green and so on. https://www.serebii.net/manga/volume.shtml Eventually the English releases started splitting them up so they could release them as "volume one" for marketing reasons but it is my understanding that MAL follows the original Japanese releases for all manga and anime, for example as with Genshiken. As there may be several strands being published at a time, the tankobons are not up to date on the latest chapters/series, some of which have been released as "mini volumes" with a lower chapter count for now while they catch up. I can understand why XY and Sun & Moon might have individual entries for now for this reason, but really they should not as they are still all part of the same series. | Bumping this post from a long while back, as an anime adaptation is being made of it currently. Because currently, the adaptation section is a mess and could be revised if this process was taken. Nearly all manga tankobon volumes have individual titles so it does not stand correct to separate each individual volume into multiple entries when they are all published under the same series title. Since several of these are one-shots and standalone short series, the more info page could have appropriate chapter and volume publication information from prior entries. Jerkhov said: Merge all of Ito Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection into one series http://myanimelist.net/people/2410/Junji_Ito 14 volumes, 81 chapters. Published Nov 1988 to Jan 1999. The chapter/volume count would technically be 16 volumes and 90 chapters if using the full Kyoufu Manga Collection list, but MAL already has Tomie listed as its own entry which I believe to be appropriate due to it also including Tomie Again (a volume not part of the collection series), so instead the entry would began at volume three. |

| in response to @svaax on the mangadb changelog thread Juuni Taisen (108392) (110100) (106970) - not a light novel I previously posted reasons on that thread but was not aware users could not post there, so I will repeat myself. It was originally published as a standard novel, which would make it invalid as stated, however it was republished by Shueisha under their Jump j Books imprint which is a light novel imprint and many of their novels are on the MAL DB. There have been several instances of standard novel or web novel republications into light novels, such as Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri and Fate/Zero. As such, the novel entry of Juuni Taisen should be reconsidered. |
