THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Lol, we start off with Madao. He’s the true warrior here, struggling to get that coin under the vending machine. Lol, at Hasegawa wish for the world to be destroyed is already happening. LMAO, Madao’s the true main villain of Gintama. Back to the serious stuff for a bit. The Amanto are invading Earth and are colonizing here, which we got a hint of in the Rakuyou arc. Even though Earth isn’t really part of this war (yet), the fact that they have ties to the Amanto is enough for the planet to be pushed in this galactic war. We’re getting some more focus on Hasegawa in this episode. After 300+ episodes of despairing poverty, he’s finally badass again... or so we thought. Lmao at Sacchan’s request! We finally got the return of the greatest and most complex Gintama character of all time… Prince Hata! And the Yorozuya have finally landed on Earth and are already ready for battle. Jeez, these characters have been in battles non-stop. They probably got only a couple of days’ worth of rest between the SA and FS arc and between the FS and RDB arc. And it probably only took a day max for them to get from Rakuyou to Earth. Time to get rid of the Liberation Army that’s invading Earth. Lol, only one minute of Gintoki screen time and we’re already jumping into dick jokes, or should I say terminal jokes, lol. Lol at Gin stopping his own “terminal operations”. We got a lot of short glimpses and teases of many different old Gintama characters. Everyone in Edo is giving it their all because it’s the final battle that will determine the state of Earth. Meanwhile Nobunobu, Katsura and Sakamoto will be handing all the political business and negotiations in space. Well, that was the perfect way to start of the final arc of Gintama. Neither was this episode completely serious, nor was it completely comedy. A mix of the two is what Gintama truly is, and that’s what this arc is all about. And with the return of so many old Gintama characters we haven’t seen in a while (like Prince Hata, who stopped appearing in Gintama ever since Gintama'. And we’ll be getting more of him later on in this arc). The is the most ‘Gintama’ Gintama has ever gotten, and it’ll be fun to see how the rest of this arc plays out in the anime adaptation. The OP played right after chapter 597 was adapted. OP was pretty good, though nothing too special. Definitely sounds better than what I've heard in the PV. The ED is top-tier and the visuals for it was perfect too. Based BURNOUT SYNDROMES! And that remixed version of the main theme was nice too. On a side note, three chapters were adapted (chapters 596-598). Next episode might only adapt two chapters because of how dialogue heavy they are. Oh well, next episode should be hilarious! 5/5 |

I really doubt it from the latest few chapters, they have quite a bit of recap, and they're very action heavy, they can easily adapt 4-5 chapters per episode in some cases, so I see it being 24-25 episodes at most, and I think that's perfect. |

Oh man here we go with the Tamashii hen arc, very nice opening episode. Looking forward to this, and especially to the manga ending before this season ends (since this will be 2 cour probably) so hoping for it to adapt the entire manga when it ends, cause if it doesn't end when anime ends you already know there will be more seasons and nobody wants anymore Gintama seasons. Lets get it Utsuro. |

Welp guess im gonna have to watch all the eps :v first episodes might be boring tho, the comedy gets better after 25 30 episode and the series as a whole gets a lot better after 50 eps. also start from ep 3, first 2 are fillers and spoils the first 20 ep of show. ( the first 2 introduces every character till episode 22 or something. on the other hand, if you sit through these 2 you can skip to ep 20 since you'll know most of the characters.) also you can start from gintama 2015, but you'll ruin a beautiful journey that gintama takes you. you also won't feel anything n sensitive moments since you won't know anybody and their connections. |

Amazing! In the manga this was so well done and it was even better animated. The OP was all hype seeing all the characters and with a very catchy song. ED on the other hand was more serious and melancholic. I loved both. This has potential to be the best season of the series. Animation was top notch, voice acting as always was top notch. 5/5 |

Gintama is back one last time, for its final arc and it started as amazing as ever. I loved all the speeches the characters gave. The few comedic scenes it had with Madao and Gintoki were on point (The VA's were amazing), and a really hype battle is about to start. Let's enjoy Gintama until the end guys. A show like this may never come again. |

That was awesome, the episode itself was fairly simply in context but yet so effective. It played out in a really Gintama'ish way too. :D I was laughing at Madao in the beginning for his antics but when I saw him collecting all that money and eventually going to Yorozuya to make the job request, I got really emotional. That was such a fantastic subversion and something I should've expected from Gintama. I also love how everyone gave Yorozuya job requests and it was funny how Sacchan was trying to wrap herself in the job request. XD The conversation between Otose and Tae was really nice. Madao with his last stand and epic speech, honestly I loved his speech. Too bad he didn't go out in all the glory that he entered in. XD I got pretty emotional seeing everyone putting their faith in Yorozuya to return and boy that return was fantastic. I was smiling through the whole thing. Rock remix of the main theme is just glorious, I'm gonna be listening to that over and over again. The OP is good but the ED is amazing, I love the visuals especially the end where Gintoki lifts his sword and it changes to the weapons every character uses. Really nice symbolism of how everyone's gonna protect together. Beautiful. <3 I hope we get a Spyair OP for the second cour or something, I really want them to close out the OP's for Gintama. Sakura Mitsusuki is still my favorite Gintama OP. |

Salamak said: Soyo-hime doesn't mention any time in the letter, neither in the manga, nor in the anime. To be honest, not much time could've passed either. When Soyo's letter was being read, it was the same day that in the newspapers they've announced that Nobunobu was appointed as shogun (note, the newspaper Shinpachi finds prior to entering Gin's hospital room). Nobunobu became the shogun almost immediately after Shigeshige left. Of course he would do that because he can't keep the seat empty for others. The amount of time between Shigeshige's departure and Soyo's letter can only be a maximum 2-3 days. Anything more than that, and it would be unrealistic of the shogun seat to be empty for so long. Shigeshige's funeral happened almost immediately, and during that time, Gintoki was discharged from the hospital (but still on crutches). And right after that, Kondo got arrested and was told that he would be executed almost immediately. Gintoki got a couple of days of resting more until he made his departure towards the island. The break between Gintoki vs. Takasugi and everyone reaching Kokujou island was probably around 7-10 days maximum. If anything Gintoki just healed really fast, which is expected because experienced fighters that take in a lot of damage can have their wounds heal faster because of their immune systems being more active.GoldenDevilGamer said: Salamak said: i'm not planning to watch this season until it's finished, but how was the animation? and op and en song and visuals? Also Gin wasn't too injured after the FS arc. If you see on the ship, he only had a couple of bandages. And he can still fight without all his wounds completely healing anyways. Right after the events of Kokujou island has ended, the trip back to Kabuki-cho shouldn't take more than a day or two, yet most of them healed during the trip anyways. There's no way the Shinsengumi had time to rest in Kabuki-cho because they're all wanted criminals. They left the town soon after and right after that, the Yorozuya stayed with the Joui rebels. There might've been a lengthy break between FS and Rakuyou. But Gintoki saying "a long time ago" can still only mean a couple of weeks. Because even one or two weeks can mean a long time, because within that time, the Shinsengumi and Mimawaregumi could've settled in their new place by then. They did stay at Rakuyou for a bit until they've healed a bit. I'm not sure about their trip to Edo taking so long though, because that would mean that it would take a week to get from Earth to Rakuyou at the very beginning of that arc. The trip was probably 2-3 days. |

After over 10 year of daily life of Gintama universe now get destroyed and we feel it too (for fans who watch/read since ep/ch 1 anyways) We can finally feel it the same way with all the character on Earth to fight and get back the their old daily life. only Gintama can buiild something like this for over 10 year LOL. Anyways back to episode. Madao's speech you can feel all his despair for over 10year its sound so dam cool and yet its still the same Madao who stuck on despair loop. Even after all of this is still Gintama on its own way to make serious even final arc on its own way. I loved the OP and the ED, i hope they just put some effort to the art, it's the first ep and i cant judge.. but it's the last time we can watch gintama so i hope they dont ruin it. |

The OP and ED were pretty good, especially the ED. It really gave off that "this is the beginning of the end" vibe, and is an unfortunate reminder that it's almost over. Madao was funny (as usual) and even a little badass in this episode, I almost forgot what his original occupation was since he spent most of the show as a bum lol. It was nice to see the real reason why he was collecting all that money, and the way he protected that kid was awesome too (until he got his ass kicked afterward). It was great to see our beloved Yorozuya trio return, and I love how so many old characters that haven't shown up in a long ass time came back to help them fight. Hell, even Prince Baka Hata made an appearance. A great start to the last season, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. |

And right after that, Kondo got arrested and was told that he would be executed almost immediately. Gintoki got a couple of days of resting more until he made his departure towards the island. The break between Gintoki vs. Takasugi and everyone reaching Kokujou island was probably around 7-10 days maximum. If anything Gintoki just healed really fast, which is expected because experienced fighters that take in a lot of damage can have their wounds heal faster because of their immune systems being more active.GoldenDevilGamer said: Salamak said: Animations were good. And it probably only took a day max for them to get from Rakuyou to Earth. you know there was 2 months between S.A and F.S and another 2 between F.S and rakuyo. it's mentioned in the series. and a couple of weeks between rakuyo battle (battle not the planet ) until they landed on earth. since gin's finger not broken anymore. princess hime writes a letter to kagura letting her know what's been going on the past 2 months. technically shogun dies 2 months after the battle they had in ninja village, so yes maybe a week between S.A and F.S , but 2 months between the battles. and gintoki took some serious injuries, he was mostly healed by the time. not to mention takasugi went to a coma after their match. they do mention how long takasugi has been in a coma tho, i should watch the first few episodes of rakuyo i can't remember correctly. and a bout F.S and rakuyo, a gunshot wound and a sword to the abdomen won't heal in just couple of weeks. they stayed on rakuyo planet for a few days after the battle, i think there is a probably a week between the battle on rakuyo and them landing on earth. edit: i didn't find the takasugi part, but in 1st ep of rakuyo gintoki tells nobume that he thought she had left edo a long time ago (with shinsengumi i suppose), so either there's been some time between f.s and rakuyo, or shinsengumi left a while after they got back from the island, not right away. The trip was probably 2-3 days. i was referring to katsura and nobume who got badly injured during f.s . i don't know where my idea of 2 months coming from. maybe shogun didn't depart immediately.. but gintoki was first treated in the same village they had the battle in and was later admitted to the hospital with much less injuries which means they spent some time in that village before returning to edo. i can go with 2-3 weeks. apparently partial muscle tears take 3-6 weeks to heal, you're right it wasn't 2 months i wonder how he hurt his leg though. but i'm sure there is this one scene, at the end of S.A maybe, when they mention takasugi being in a coma for about two weeks. edit: found it, last episode of S.A, they mention takasugi being in a coma for 2 weeks. maybe it doesn't have anything to do with earth, but 2-3 weeks between these arcs seems more reasonable. and another 2-3 weeks between F.S and rakuyo. i wonder where i got the idea of two months. i thought maybe something in the anime indicated that, but there isn't anything really. |

What a start to to the final arc! I am super hyped. The OP and the ED are both really amazing! And I was wondering what were Tama and Otae doing getting taken away like that. They are not your usual damsel in distress like we seen in other series so when they grabbed the hands of those amanto, faith in Gintama was restored! The best thing was obviously how Madao got beaten up! Love that guy! 5/5. nb. Yet to finish Porori-hen. |

Takasugi used that same sword and that sleeve is from the time when he wore that black coat as he fought alongside Gintoki. |

Loved the episode! As someone up to date with the manga, it was everything I wanted and more. Got my dose of hype and feels for the week. The OP and ED were stellar. Also, a little off-topic but I hope the reviews section gets cleaned up soon. Normally, I would just laugh at trolling attempts but I'm so attached to Gintama that it feels like my actual family is being insulted :( |

I think that there will be a v2 opening with the Shinsengumi in it, after their comeback. After all, they are in the ED as important characters, like Tastu Katsu and Nobunobu). Also the hand in the end of the opening must the hand of Takasugi, cos' he doesn't appears in the opening but he have a really big place in the ending, even bigger than the Shinsengumi. I thought that the episode was really well directed, and the budget (that we can see easily in the art) is still low, but well managed. And we have new OST (2 i think), and one of these two seems to be pure silver (you got it), I talk about the one when the Yorozuya said "we're back". It's a reprise of that i will call the "Gintama Theme", and it gives a sensation of 'beginning of the end". Also we heard a lot of classic OST, and Hata's theme is remaining the best. |

Personally, I don't want another opening outside of a V2 of the current one since I really feel it captures the feeling of the series reaching the climax (controversial opinion I know). Well I expect it to change on the 2nd cour though but I admit that a Spyair OP wouldn't be bad at all. |
