I think you'd really like Wolf's Rain. Highly recommend it.
King_Of_Voices Oct 18, 1:20 PM
I hope you enjoy it more! Of course it all comes down to the interpretation, so I don't think either of us really have a say in what the story is officially trying to convey, because neither of us know Nasu or Urobuchi to ask lol.

Regardless, I hope you find the LN interesting. I'm not a huge fan of how it's written at times, compared to the anime, but I think it is definitely the definitive version of Zero storywise.
King_Of_Voices Oct 18, 10:28 AM
Well then now I understand why you're not a huge fan of Zero compared to me lol. Cause my favorite aspect of it is the characters since I find all of them interesting structurally and thematically personally. If you're not interested in most of them then I'm not really surprised that you feel this way lol. Also, I actually think Shinji is interesting.

The only person she didn't retort was Gilgamesh, because she wanted to kill him and found him disgusting. But he makes fun of everyone so that's nothing new. She also retorts Rider and Kiritsugu at many points, so I don't see what the problem is personally.

As for Saber being in character, this is gonna come from someone who hasn't read F/SN in a while so...go easy on me lmao.

See, I always saw it as Saber finding Kiritsugu's methods repulsive because they were cruel, not because of killing. I also never saw Saber as naive. The characters did, but I didn't. The reason why she gets so uncomfortable when Rider scolds her is because it's the first time she's been reminded of her mistakes after being summoned, so everything just hits her like a truck. Rider's opinion on her was that she couldn't understand the hearts of men, but that was never treated as a fact. Lancelot if you see his backstory, was a much more different case then just her not understanding her people. The reason why she hated Kiritsugu so much was because he is like a mirror to herself, and so part of her outrage against him was her own self hatred. Or at least that's how I interpreted it.

I thought Zero had a great atmosphere from the beginning, like the opening scene gives me goosebumps to this day. I can understand why you'd feel that way though, and I will say that I think F/SN's tone is also fantastic.

I guess I'll write a long response too lmao. This is gonna be coming from the perspective of someone whose fav anime is Zero.

Huh. I can understand not finding some of the characters interesting, but I personally can't disagree enough lol. I think Zero's cast is extremely fascinating. I like Irisviel, Caster and Ryuunosuke, Lancer, and Tokiomi a lot as characters for instance. I'm actually planning on making analysis videos for the Caster duo and Kariya.

Now, keep in mind that is coming from the perspective who hasn't read F/SN in a while lol so go easy on me.

I never got the sense that Saber was portrayed as naive. The narrative acknowledges her accomplishments and treats her with respect, but simply lays out some of the flaws of her time as king. Some people say that The Banquet of Kings scene is just "Rider owning Saber lmao" but it's so much more than that. It wasn't just portraying Rider as right, because it's made clear that he was a flawed ruler too who led countless men to their deaths for his dream. The exact type of ruler that Kiritsugu would despise for instance, and Saber rightfully calls him out on this. Rider doesn't even retort that claim, because he isn't able to and instead leads the conversation to Saber's kingdom as a result.

As for the tone, I never really saw too much of a difference between Zero and Stay Night's tone. The only reason why Zero is regarded as the darkest entry in the series, is because it's a prequel that portrays tragic and dark events that Stay Night fans know about. I can understand maybe having a problem with it not having enough light hearted moments, but I think the ones that are there are fantastic. Zero's dark tone to me works because of the fact that it is a prequel, like the Revenge of The Sith of the Fate series lol.

What are your problems with Fate/Zero compared to Stay Night?

Love the new media pic! Though it's sad to see One Piece and JoJo go lol. Has Fate finally surpassed ASOIAF?

Thank you for the Manga recommendations, I'll definitely be checking out those Manga's very soon.

I am currently reading Volume 12, and all that I can say so far is that Berserk is a fantastic manga.

It's by far the best manga that I have read so far even though I haven't read that much manga as of right now, Berserk is definitely a 10/10 masterpiece, it's the best manga that I have ever read and it deserves all of the praise it get's it's so unique and brilliant in every single way imaginable.
PhantomDiamond Sep 25, 5:00 PM
Hey we haven't talked in 2 years. How have you been? Yes I'm finally reading Berserk, and I'll try to remember to let you know how I feel about it throughout the journey.

I know that Kentaro Miura passed away a few months ago may he rest in peace.

The Berserk Manga has fantastic artwork overall. I was thinking about skipping some of the first few arcs that were adapted into the 1997 anime, but I haven't watched in a few years. I'll just read the manga from the very beginning and I'll take my time reading it since it doesn't seem like Berserk will have a proper conclusion now which is very sad.

Well anyways I have been trying to get into manga lately, because I have been losing interest in watching as much anime as I used to 2/3 years ago. If there's any manga that you recommend I check out in the near future let me know.

Have a goodnight Angra_Shadow!
