Well this epsiode was really silly, at least the first half. Those green jump suits though...I'm sure Might Guy would be proud.

Looks like Iwabee Aino got a lot of focus this episode. I'm actually glad they're keeping his character relevant. He still seems like the type of guy hard to make friends with. However, I did like how the episode made him like a hero along with Denki.

So great to see more of Lee. He really can empathise with Denki's inability to use ninjutsu.

Mostly an Denki x Iwabe episode which is ok. Funny how Iwabe was studying upside down so casually.

Did they really think they were going to be failed or expelled for rescuing some kids from a burning building? Really?

That is a 10/10 smile

Nice of Iwabe & Denki to help each other. Cool to see Rock Lee. The Power of Youth.

LOL those spicy burgers. Congrats on passing.

It's good to see Rock Lee again. He helped out Denki with his training. Denki helped Iwabe with his studies and vice versa. I'm glad they passed their test. Those were some spicy burgers.

It was a nice episode, good to see Lee again, but I think they're taking too long to become Genins, I mean, 16 episodes! It's about time

Maybe it's been a while since I last heard Rock Lee's voice but he sounded different in this episode. It may have just been the VA trying to make him sound older. Anyway it was nice to see him again.

The focus was mainly on Denki and Iwabe and their struggles, and I like how Denki's strength was Iwabe's weakness (and vice versa), as that allowed them to help each other in those respective areas. It was pretty obvious that Shino was going to let them pass since they saved those kids, so it was painful watching that scene where they thought they'd be held back.

According to the ED, it looks like they are about to adapt The Scarlet Spring... It's cool because Sarada is a much better character than Boruto in my opinion.

I'm slowly beginning to suspect that Boruto isn't aiming to be as action packed as Naruto. Which in principle is not a bad idea given how the power levels Naruto ended with.
With this idea in mind I understand why the writers are focusing on character driven stories like this episode rather then plot driven ones.

The episode itself was pretty ok. I like that Iwabe and Denki are getting some development, Though given the last episode I find it baffling that Sumire wasn't even seen much less mentioned.
The episode's plot feels like a writing cliché but I'm interested enough in Iwabe and Denki's relationship to give that a pass.

Character development is always encouraged but I'm still hoping we get something akin to a Zabuza arc before the Movie plot kicks in.

look at the ED, and next episode is based on sarada,i mean based on ep 15 teasing kinshiki we are def getting a movie arc adaption however before that they will def do saradas arc animated and mitsukis one shot animated before they get to that stuff i believe, and adding an arc or 2 of a few missions of sarada/boruto/mitsuki to show their first missions together and coming together as a teamafter those i would say is necessary too...

but yeah so far not nearly as good as original naruto to me... feels kinda forced and im not liking the change from ramen to burgers >< ;D !! i mean i know they are trying to "modernize" the naruto world with all the technology and differentiate boruto from his dad, but seriously, come on, what kind of ninja eats MCDONALDS?

i dunno original naruto i grew up with and watched for a long time so i guess it was never going to compare i just hope that when they start adapting those comic arcs about sarada / mitsuki and the plot gets rolling things get better....

Well on that note, what kind of ninja eat ramen? ninja faded into obscurity in the early 18th century while ramen (which was a Chinese invention) came to Japan in late 19th century. If we're going to be historically accurate then Naruto would be eating soba instead of ramen.

As for plot.. well Naruto was full of insignificant fillers. Sure they had plenty of action but on the bigger picture they almost never tied to the main story or affect them in any way. The difference is you get the feeling that Boruto's so-called fillers actually add depth to the upcoming main plot. Instead of suddenly having Mitsuki we got a little back story on how he ended up in Konoha and of course the Gozu Tennou that was linked with Kaguya's dimension. Denki, Inchou, and Iwabe are more than likely to feature closely to the main plot in the future. Inchou can't possibly be left out considering she's the only one who has access to Nue right now and she's probably gonna be very important once we reach the Otsusuki clan arc (beyond the Boruto movie of course).

Nice bonding moment between Iwabee & Denki.

Rock Lee baby! Well glad Denki remembered his speech combined with what he learned from Metal & Iwabee workout he did put into use what he learned as well as what Iwabee learned from his training.

On a side note:
Finally, a must needed Sarada centric event in the next episode...

I can't help but continue wondering what the teams are going to be like after they graduate. Is it going to be three 3-man cells like the original series or is this one going to squeeze in a fourth cell? So far the series has focused on 10 academy students and we already know that 7 of them are guaranteed to graduate. Is Sumire, Denki or Iwabe going to get held back or are we going to get 2 more academy graduates... if so I hope its not going to be those 2 girls that I forget the names of that are the only other students with actual names. Personally if this is the case I hope one of them is that girl with the rabbit doll that we often see in the back ground.

There wasn't much action in this episode, but I still liked it.

As long as we don't get Naruto-like fillers, I'm fine with anything. At least these episodes can be somewhat interesting, enjoyable, and they have connection to the main arcs. I wouldn't mind if we could have them graduate, and sorted them into teams, though.

What I noticed is that the standards in the academy became significantly higher in the last 20 years in that world. Naruto had to learn climbing walls during his first mission, while it's an exam test now in the academy. I guess students became stronger in a faster rate now.

I think Boruto's explanation managed to confuse Denki even more lol. Man they sure make walking up a cliff easy though. Top marks for having determination though. Its nice that Metal came and decided to help Denki train. There's only so much one person can do to train after all. Metal has the right attitude though thats for sure. In a way both need to practice hard to overcome slightly different problems. Hmm so metal is actually Lee's son eh. I can certainly see the resemblance. Its nice to see Lee again though. It looks like both Iwabe and Denki are in danger of failing here lol. Lol its funny seeing Lee and Metal mimic how Lee and guy was like in the past. Its nice that Iwabe and Denki managed to resolve their differences though. Nice to see Denki has that kind of determination in him. Hmm thats a pretty interesting way of absorbing information lol. Its nice to see both are able to improve by helping each other. Hmm Denki actually looks ok in that jumpsuit. Well at least it gave him the confidence that he needed to wall run. Man its not every day that you will use what you just learned to save people's lives though. Well i guess they did after all use what they learned in a real life situation successfully and so they more than qualify for a pass for that test. Its nice that in the both managed to pass the test.

For me, this is a decent episode... To achieve the same goal, Iwabe and Denki helped each other although there was some sort of misunderstanding at the beginning of the episode... but I really love seeing how Boruto and the gang tried to share their knowledge and skills with Iwabe and Denki...the portrayal of their friendship is so sweet...
