| Ibo is not going the way I expected it too, on one hand it feels great that the show is kind of averting expectations but also worrisome given how little time remains especially cause next episode seems action-less surprisingly, then again the show's pacing kicks into high gear whenever action does happen so alot can happen in just a short amount of time though I pray that the people saying this is 51 episodes are the correct ones, a single episode can go a loooooong way especially when a series is cutting it so close like this. That aside, very downer episode in a good way, shined alot of depth on some side characters that didnt have it before as well as shined some more depth on our main casts. |

In Heartcatch!'s third episode I thought you myself, "You know, the student council president actually kinda looks like a girl," so I backed up the episode about half a minute to make sure they used the masculine pronoun. After confirming that I mostly wrote it off afterwards, only to now find out in the sixth episode that "he" actually is a girl. That was pretty subtle, so I'm happy with myself for picking up on it early. Further, I had had a feeling that the student council president was actually an important character, but the guy that saved Blossom in the first episode was way too tall to be the same person, and they had different hair colors anyway. Now that I know for sure that the president is a girl I'm completely sold on the theory that she will end up being a Cure somewhere further along in the story. On a different note, I'm going to go ahead and admit that I was completely wrong about Erika. For some reason I can't seem to pinpoint, my first impression of Marine's character design prior to watching the series made me think the character would be annoying, but she turned out to be rather well-rounded and likeable. Her groundedness in reality and tell-it-like-it-is approach to situations offsets her high energy and enthusiams very well. And, finally, were it not for that scene in the show's opening showing the woman under the Great Heart Tree, I would think Erika's older sister was the former Cure Moonlight. Maybe I'm overthinking things to assume she's somehow more relevant than she currently appears to the bigger narrative? |

I dont think im really missing out on anything though from me not keeping with this series. | The newest gintama was the first ep from this arc I legitimately got really into, I enjoyed this arc so far but to be honest its basically been a comedy arc with some serious bits sprinkled in, and that fine but despite being the penultimate arc it felt disconnected from the rest of the series thus far with alot of (genuinly entertaining) fodder fights. Now that we are getting into the conclusion of kamui/kagura's storyline its starting to feel way better and more enthralling. I think its also just coming off of the emotional highs of the shogun and shinsengumi arcs prior to it this felt like an odd one out of the 3. It still is cool that pretty much each group of characters in the show had 1 big arc to act as the conclusion more or less of the story lines they were a part of. Also the main antagonist is really starting to warm up to me, I didnt know how to feel about it when I got it spoiled, actually i hated it, then when i saw it in the show it wound up being better than i expected but still a bit conflicted on how to feel. Now hes actually shaping up to be a genuinly threatening final boss. I spent awhile trying to think of a comparable experience that would have made me think that, but I can't come up with anything. She was pretty great even from the first episode, and has improved more since then. Something I like about the her partnership with Tsubomi is that it is a genuine partnership rather than a hero and sidekick sort of thing. As Cures neither eclipses the other in importance despite Tsubomi being the protagonist. I'll look forward to that character growth. |
