It's going to be a full cour including the OVAs and airing them on TV. By marking it as 8 and splitting it into 2 entries you're causing unnecessary confusion. It even says on this entry, they're renamed. That makes it not the same thing and should be included as part of this entry. But if the OVAs are exactly the same content then no, it should be 8 episodes. That's the way MAL works. I don't know if I agree with that. I checked the guide and there's nothing in the guide indicating that the series shouldn't be listed as a full series. As a matter of fact, the guide specifically says episode count or airing count is used as the source for episode count. Gonna bump my request for a DB moderator to review this one. First episode is out, still 8 episodes. Based on the rules the episode count for this entry should be 13. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/11209/Maken-Ki_OVA Two OVAs released between the first and second seasons. First season and first OVA was AIC, second season and second OVA was Xebec. The two OVAs were released much closer to their studio's season than to each other. In conclusion, either: 1.) Add AIC as another studio 2.) Separate the entry into two different ones, one for each episode (like ANN does: 1st one, 2nd one) |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/24655/Date_A_Live_Movie__Mayuri_Judgment -genre: school, comedy They don't actually go school in the film. I really think comedy is muted in the film compared to the TV series. The first 45 of the film is the MC going on a date with each girl taking turns. So it's super romancey with minor comedy effects that a harem genre would already account for (each girl tries her best to make it the best date possible and not everything goes smoothly so we have a slight chuckle when say the restaurant she wanted to go to closed down and became a ramen shop). Then the last part of the movie is the actual interaction with Mayuri with regular drama crap, battling, and goodbyes. +genre: harem, scifi Like the original TV anime. I don't believe the use of the mecha genre in the entire franchise is proper. As in, I don't recall there being actual mechas. The LIVE girls are aliens from another dimension with power suit like abilities which scifi already covers. And the JGSDF's anti-spirit team girls who fight the LIVE girls have powersuits themselves (which look similar to the LIVE girls outfits with a ton of flesh exposed) once again is covered by the scifi genre. Also the movie's age rating can be bumped down to G as that's the official Eirin rating http://www.eirin.jp/list/index.php?title=%E3%83%87%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BB%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%96&eirin_no=&s_year=&s_month=&e_year=&e_month=&x=0&y=0 Nothing really violent nor ecchi happens in the film. It's the most kosher thing in the franchise. |

The theatrical short was set to air as a double feature with the Kara no Kyoukai film. It's supposedly a different entity from the actual ufotable cafes: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-05-03/fate/zero-cafe-sd-4-panel-manga-film-adaptation-listed The PV was uploaded before the theatrical release, but articles seem to treat it as just a public PV: http://animeanime.jp/article/2013/07/08/14726.html The ufotable store apparently sold copies with the PV, but not any full-length short. Some articles claim it was about 10 minutes long, but they were written before the airdate. As for the recent event, it appeared there may have been another Fate/Zero Cafe short shown on March 19. There were plenty of new scenes added. http://myanimelist.net/anime/15583/Date_A_Live -Both the singles and the Blu-ray Box had new scenes, with the Blu-ray box having way more new scenes. http://date-a-live-anime.com/bldvd/season1_dvd01.html http://date-a-live-anime.com/bldvd/bdbox.html http://myanimelist.net/anime/19163/Date_A_Live_II http://date-a-live-anime.com/bldvd/season2_dvd01.html Also if possible, can it be mentioned that FUNimation is missing said content, so the dub does not have these scenes? They have only the new scenes that were added for the S1 singles while the Blu-ray Box they don't. The Blu-ray Box was released well after their release. http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/showthread.php?38580-Why-Isn-t-All-of-That-Series-on-My-Shelf-The-Dropped-Incompletely-Released-Franchise-Thread&p=353236&viewfull=1#post353236 Another Directors Cut I feel should be added in the "More Info" tab is The Vision of Escaflowne. Only the FUNimation dub will be syncing up to it. Bandai Entertainment accidentally gave us the TV version of the show. When the series was first aired in Japan, Sunrise made too much animated content for the show's earlier episodes to fit in it's TV time slot. As a result, some scenes having nothing to do with the advancement in the show's plot had to be cut for time. The deleted scenes were restored in Japanese video releases. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=240&page=22https://twitter.com/worldofcrap/status/703718413861056516 Lastly, can we add somewhere this info for Lupin III: Part IV in the "More Info" tab? Would be helpful especially considering CR is also missing these episodes, but doesn't label them properly (what they call episode 6 is episode 7, and what is episode 23 is actually 25, so the numbering is all screwy). Episodes 6 and 23 were not a part of the TV broadcast in Japan, airing only in Italy. They were instead released exclusively on DVD/BD. https://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=10882[Edit]Ah, just noticed this, never mind about Lupin then. Didn't notice it got a separate entry. http://myanimelist.net/anime/33074/Lupin_III_2015_Specials Oh and not sure if my "Background" request for Kino's Journey was rejected or not, but here's proof that John Ledford and ADV Films were indeed members of the show's production committee. If it was just about the dubbing and stuff, ADV normally would not do this with the credits. R1 companies being on production committees was a rather common occurance in the early to mid-2000's. FUNimation being on Dimension W's wasn't the start. http://i.imgur.com/V7Q2U8E.png http://i.imgur.com/EyM1UJj.png http://www.hulu.com/watch/224181 (They're just straight up using ADV's DVD's) This isn't unprecedented. Manga Entertainment was a committee member for the original Ghost in the Shell movie; ADV was on the production committee for Kino's Journey and others, Geneon USA was on the committee for Ergo Proxy and others. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/2015-07-10/.90197In the ridiculous money-losing days of the anime boom, these fees often went up well over US$70,000 per episode. That's half of the cost to make the whole show! (This is why, for a brief time in the mid 00's, Geneon USA and ADV Films occasionally found themselves on the production committee. It was easier, since they were paying most of the costs anyway.) http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-03-07http://www.funimation.com/forum/showthread.php?10349-PSA-Date-A-Live-II-s-English-Dub-is-the-Broadcast-version&p=85302&viewfull=1#post85302 Also bringing this in here as I see nothing was ever done (didn't even get any replies), the request to add these producers. This would really help make the database far more accurate. BigOnAnime said: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1500358Geneon Entertainment USA-This is a bit of a mess because no one bothered to back in the day do Geneon USA and Geneon Japan (later Geneon Universal, now NBCUniveral Entertainment Japan, they're separate entries which is fine), they just had one single company put down. This causes a problem on the shows where Geneon USA was the licensor, but Geneon Japan was also a producer on the show's production committee. So you have a producer listed as only the licensor on various entries. I know it would be a lot of work to fix this, but it would lead to a more accurate database. Warner Bros. USA-This is a similar situation as the above, but not as severe. Warner Bros. Japan has been involved with anime production for a couple years now, but their parent, WB has licensed multiple series in the past. For example, they're the ones that put out JoJo S1 on DVD. VIZ Media wasn't involved with that release whatsoever. It's currently impossible to list WB as a licensor for JoJo S1 because the Japanese WB is involved in the production, and there's no separate entry for their US parent company. These next two I mentioned in another thread, but I'll mention them again. Overlap-They're the current publisher of the IS: Infinte Stratos light novels and are on the production committee for IS: Infinite Stratos 2. They're also bound to be on other production committees in the future. Bandai Visual USA-They're dead, but they should still be added considering we have other defunct companies listed, including Kadokawa Pictures USA who also didn't do THAT much. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/30913/Kagerou_Project Episodes: 22 (moreover, only 15 are the main). Source: http://kagerouproject.wikia.com/wiki/Songs (also see Wikipedia link below). Change Wikipedia link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kagerou_Project. |
There is such thing as shit taste. Only idiots think that every "work of art" should have the same value. Persona anime are good. Deal with it. |

Paulo27 said: Ah, it's not approved? Didn't notice that. Strange, I thought that only approved entries can be shown in Relations. Either way, why? Black Rock*Shooter has been approved. In the end, why so long (it's about a year already, right?) delay? Either approve it or delete. This will probably never get accepted so there's that too. Anyway, it's still 22 songs, not 26. The other 4 are just bonus-tracks. 15 are the main story, and additional 7 are sort of add-ons/side-stories. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/527/Pokemon Change all uses of Pokemon in the database to Pocket Monsters, which is the correct Japanese title, although Pokemon is still used to refer to the series in Japan, it's an abbreviation (i.e. Oreimo, Danmachi), not the actual title used in the logos. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/33038/Nuwa_Chengchang_Riji Nuwa Chengchang Riji should really be read as Nuwa Chengzhang Riji, since the word 长 has two different pronunciations that affects its meaning. |

Almost every anime/manga site will use an abbreviated version of the title for the URL, and regardless of the branding, the titles of the anime/manga/games are ポケットモンスター (Pocket Monsters) and are still referred to as such with a simple look into the actual entries on the site. MAL uses a database viewpoint at the entries, so despite every person referring to the series as Pokemon both internationally and in Japan, when listed in JP news sites and wikis, the official title will be used and should be followed here. There's a reason for the synonyms section for entries, which are most often for popular abbreviations and acronyms like in this situation. |

No, FMA uses Fullmetal Alchemist because it's in the Japanese logo, not because it's most common Same explanation for why Detective Conan and Neon Genesis Evangelion don't use the Japanese title. If there is an English subtitle, then MAL uses it as the name entry. This doesn't apply to Pokemon because its subtitle is Pocket Monsters, not Pokemon. |

What is your explanation for those examples then? Because this is the pattern that those seem to follow, it definitely isn't due to what the most popular name is, I know that for a fact. |

The title change has been requested a few times for them in the past, but moderators always use an excuse like "we'll wait until there's a feature to switch between romaji/english titles". |

Seems like a petty excuse, it should still be changed regardless of what they 'might' implement in the future. Otherwise they just confuse people by having inconsistencies in the naming of titles. |

http://myanimelist.net/anime/9934/Nekogami_Yaoyorozu +genre: shoujo-ai There's tons of it between main characters. Heck two of the girl's were engaged by their parents in childhood. It's very plain and easy to see. |
