Ok, I might watch Dark Side of Dimensions, but I watch Yu-Gi-Oh mostly for duels, I don't care about characters much. I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh as an adult, so I don't have sentiment to its characters.
By the way, how did you start watching Yu-Gi-Oh? Did you watch it as a kid?

You're right, rival is better word than antagonist to describe Kaiba.
I dislike characters like Kaiba, but I guess we have different taste. I prefer more calm characters. My favorite Yu-Gi-Oh rival is Declan, but I also like Kait and Revolver/Varis.

I also played Duel Links, but I stopped, because power crept is too high right now. Although I was always free to play. Monetization in this game is absurd. Did you play also Master Duel? Why did you start playing Duel Links?

I usually don't watch movies, especially those based on tv series. I didn't watch Dark Side of Dimensions.

I don't like Kaiba. He's so arogant. He's the worst antagonist in Yu-Gi-Oh. But I like both Yugi and Atem.

Arc-V isn't storyline mess in the season one, but it become in season 2 and 3. Friendship cup is the worst arc in whole Yu-Gi-Oh. What is your worst story arc in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Link monsters have cool idea with arrows that point to a specific zone, but most of the time it doesn't matter where you put a monster, so link summon is a wasted potential. What is your favorite summoning metod?

By the way, have you played Yu-Gi-Oh?

I like also season 2 of Zexal and season 1 of Arc-V. Why do you hate Yu-Gi-Oh after 5D's? I didn't watch 5D's, but I remember that GX has too many fillers, a lot of episodes in GX are pointless.

I agree battle city is the best story arc. Season 1 would be better if the game had some rules. Other arcs are pointless.

I changed my profile picture only once, but I also had Kirito. You had Yugi, that's interesting. Is Yugi your favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character? Who is your favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character?
Danielf6 Aug 24, 6:54 AM
My favorite Yu-Gi-Oh series is VRAINS. Which story arc of Duel Monsters is your favorite?

I see you changed your profile picture? Why did you do that? Who do you have on your profile picture now?
Danielf6 Aug 23, 11:04 AM
I didn't pay attention, sorry. But still whit is the difference between good (7), very good (8) and great anime (9) anime? Those categories look too similar.

By the way, I see you've watched a lot Yu-Gi-Oh series. Which one is your favorite?

Where can I find MAL's scoring system? I've never seen it.
If 5 is average, you still watch mostly anime below average. I usually try to check of I would like anime before watching, so I like most anime I watch, so I rate most of them above 5. Also some anime has multiple seasons, which I often rate similarly, so that also increase my scores.

What is my Death Note rating? That's complicated. First few episodes 10: I really love Light and L psychological game. When Misa appears, that game is starting to become less relevant, but that part is still decent to watch, so my score of this part is 6. When Light looses his Death Note: I don't remember his plan that well as you, but I remember that L and Light try to figure out rules we already know and the current Death Note use is terribly written, so this part I rate as 2. When Light regain his Death Note back, he has a few interesting interaction with L, who knows that he looses, so those few episodes, I rate as 8. After L dies, only Near is interesting, but he doesn't have much time, so my score of this part is 3. The ending is good, I like how Near outsmarted Light, so I rate ending as 7.

I don't give one score for Death Note, because it's so inconsistent. Why do you ask me, how do you should rate Death Note? It's your score, based on your enjoyment. I won't tell you, how do you like Death Note. I told you how do I like Death Note, but it's my opinion and you have different opinion, so we have different ratings. But I don't understand, why do you rate as 8, since you said, that "it did drop drastically after L's death". Is 8 your rating for the part before L's death?
How do you rate the part before L's death and the part after L's death? I think it would be better if you rate those two part separately.

By the way, have you read Death Note manga?
Danielf6 Aug 17, 9:55 AM
I think most users have medium score between 7 and 8. Having scores bellow 5 is rare. Have you planned to add your scoring system to your section "about me"?

I have different opinion about Death Note than others. I watched Death Note a few years ago, so I can make some mistakes. Regarding the part where Light looses Death Note, I don't remember if Light idea is smart, but the execution is boring to watch. There is a few episodes when nothing interesting happen.
I think losing Death Note changes more Light's value system then his personality.

I disagree the quality drops drastically after L's death. The quality of that part is bad, but the part when Light looses Death Note is worse. I like Near. He can do smart deduction and the plan to capture Kira in the end is great. Unfortunately the anime doesn't focus about him much. How do you like Near?
Also why do you rate Death Note so high if you don't think it's some untouchable masterpiece?
Danielf6 Aug 14, 11:04 AM
That makes sense. If you watch a lot of anime, a lot of them would be bad. I agree with you, most anime are bad. Although I see people on MAL who watched more anime than you and they usually have higher scores.

Why do you like Death Note so much? In my opinion, it started very well, but it gets bad later. I really like psychological game between Light and L, but the anime abandon it quickly. The other death note users are very boring. The worst part for me is when Light looses his death note. When Light doesn't have death note, L and Light try to find out rules how Kira can kill people and they don't do much else. But we already know those rules, so that part is boring.
So what is your opinion about Death Note?
Danielf6 Aug 13, 6:01 AM
Your median score is 4. You most rate anime as 2, 3 or 4. Is 4 a good score for you?

How do you decide which anime you watch? Why don't you drop anime if you don't like it?

By the way, how did you start watching anime? Did you watch anime as a kid?
Danielf6 Aug 12, 7:47 AM
I see, I use my favorite character Kirito on my pictures. Who is your favorite character?

By the way, why do you have so low scores?

You answered the same day, I wrote a message, so you're not late.

Hi! Who do you have on your profile picture? Is it from an anime?
Hazbyn Sep 15, 2023 8:31 PM
Yeah, I don´t think there are too many authors, especially in big magazines like the WSJ, who plan their manga to end in less than 100 chapters. Is very sad when a manga you like, which has a nice premise and good characters, is suddenly axed. It happened to me with Kisaragi-san had a Piercing Gaze as I think I mentioned before; I was shocked when I saw the manga ended after 20 chapters since there were initially hints the manga was going to be a bit longer.
I read some weeks ago the manga Seishun Soukanzu; it was very crappy, to be honest, but after reaching the final chapter it was crystal clear the manga was axed. Not the biggest loss, but still sad that the authors weren´t able to develop the story a bit further.

I heard of it, such a disappointment; I read the plot of Tenmaku Cinema and it caught my attention a lot. I was about to start it when I saw it was axed. What was Do Retry about? I don´t think I heard of it before.
I feel Mission Yozakura Family time is coming; the manga was very entertaining, and it was a good mix of comedy and drama. I consider the story went downhill ever since the twin children of the main couple appeared.

I love One Piece, but I wonder if it would have had the same look today as it did back in 1997. Demon Slayer's beginning was promising in my opinion, especially the initial fight between Tanjirou and Giyuu for Nezuko´s survival; moreover, JJK's premise was also interesting, especially the part about the main character's life pending approval by the higher-ups.

I agree with you; WSJ is canceling many good and promising manga just because the authors take their time developing the world and the characters. If the editorial keeps doing that, the popularity of other series is not going to be enough to save them.

Hahaha, really? Very nice camera.
Hazbyn Sep 8, 2023 12:17 PM
That´s very sad to hear; I saw it was axed after 36 chapters. Did it have a decent finale at least?
I am starting to agree with what you said about the WSJ not handling properly manga and their writers; or at least everyone is pushed to publish when they aren´t in good health with the threat that there is backup already prepared.

Nice profile picture by the way.

I remember I started reading on a site that has, for instance, just 40 chapters, then I jumped into another one that had 60, then the original one updated faster than the second one; to sum up, it was a mess and very unorganized. I did not watch the anime, but I loved the opening song; Nano never disappoints. I do recall the final scene I saw before stop reading the manga; it was near the end, and there was an upcoming fight between Sakamoto and Oda.

Aside from One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Black Clover, I am reading Mission Yozakura Family and The Ichinose Family Deadly Sins; I have to say that I initially enjoyed Mission Yozakura Family quite a lot, the mix between comedy and action was very entertaining, but lately, I feel the story has lost its appeal, especially since the two MC were replaced. Ichinose Family is very interesting and curious, it was written by the same author as Takopi´s Original Sin; however, it feels like a story that works better for a short period, otherwise it would feel dragged.
I read Mashle as well, and I found the comedy amazing; it was really a combination between Harry Potter and One Punch Man hahaha. Sadly, only the first part was unique and memorable, the later part felt weak.
I have read very good things about Fabricant 100, I may pick it to see how it is. I hope it doesn´t get axed though.

I noticed you removed your profile picture, it is kind of cute the way MAL has a default image for when someone removes or doesn´t have a picture hahaha; do you have something in mind for what you want?
Hazbyn Jul 26, 2023 9:46 PM
Just like the first anime series wasn´t perfect, the movies also have flaws of course; nevertheless, the movies are very enjoyable by themselves, just keep in mind that they aren´t remastered versions of the anime, but their own story. At the end of the day, is up to you if you like them; I hope you have a good time watching them.

I knew Ayashimon way before I started reading Jigokuraku; I was aware the former was axed after being reported as not selling well, and I was shocked when I learned it was written by the same author as the latter. I agree with you on that, I cannot Yuuji created that was as bad as it was stated; I have read reviews and checked individual scores, and both are actually good. I don´t know how things work in the WSJ editorial department, but I am aware of the amount of manga canceled in the past years; I was reading Aliens Area out of curiosity and when I checked it was canceled as well.
For some comments I have read Ayashimon was a success outside of Japan, but it was competing against other battle shounen stories that were more popular at the time, and it was overlooked by the target country.

I enjoy survival game manga; they tend to be a bit trashy but they are my guilty pleasure hahaha. I was interested because I saw a lot of advertisements, and because I liked your honesty about Deatte I might check it to confirm it; I am currently watching Houseki no Kuni aside from the seasonal anime currently airing, so I might pick it up after a while to confirm your points.
I read Btooom! some time ago while it was still being published; I liked the art style, the character design, the background accuracy, and the side plot with the people outside of the island. Sadly, I lost track of which chapter I was because I did not use MAL at the time.

Don´t worry, I am planning to change my current profile picture, but I don´t like stealing; as the proverb says, early birds get the worm hahaha.

By the way, I saw you are currently reading Fabricant 100, how it is going? I am curious because I am reading some of the current line-ups of the WSJ; something interesting is that several of the current manga doesn´t have good MAL scores.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
