Blood-C: The Last Dark

The purpose of the movie I guess was basically to tie up plot points and what not, to wrap up the franchise, but honestly it really didn't. Just opened up a bunch more questions and confusion with too many technical term and explanations going on.

But the betrayals were done well. Some character portrayals were good but most of the supporting characters were really just a tree in the background; not much about them, they were just there to get the plot moving, and annoying at times.

Saya's character development in this is fairly minimal; she's regained control of her true self, the wish she made to ... Watanuki, but her true moment doesn't really shine until the near-ending of the series which was, truly sent me down into a spiral of emotions. Unfortunate, but the series wrapped up too well.

Fumito, our villain, also has a 180 degree personality change in this; it just seems like whatever he did to Saya in the anime just went to waste and that's just not significant anymore; his true goal was something completely different that really questions the purpose of the anime; nonetheless, this villain wrapped up his ending way too well and I honestly could've cried.

Characters aside, this opens up a whole plot hole as to whether xxxHoLiC exists on the same dimension as Blood-C because Saya is able to visit Watanuki's shop. Or perhaps Saya visits the shop through an inter-dimensional portal that is made only for Saya when she walks past the shop's gates... le sigh we will never know. Saya's wish and prices are never revealed even though this is what could've driven a huge part of her personal character development arc, but oh well. I'll just sigh and look past this.

Well Blood-C: The Last Dark is a strange one for sure lol. This is because it is a thrilling and intense anime film that is sure to keep viewers watching. The story is set in a dystopian world where humans and supernatural creatures coexist, and follows a teenage girl named Saya who is trained to fight these creatures. The animation is top-notch exceptionally that monster is on a whole new level. And the fight scenes are well-choreographed and visually stunning.

Also, the film's credits song is a banger, as it is a nice close-off for the movie. The music is a great combination ... of electronic and orchestral elements that perfectly accompanies the action and "emotional scenes".

One of the strong points of the film is the exploration of the main protagonist's internal conflicts, as she struggles with her duty as a protector and her own humanity. This adds a layer of complexity to the story and makes the audience question the morality of the actions taken by the characters.

On the other hand, some may find the pacing of the film to be slow at times, as it takes time to build up the story and reveal certain plot points. Additionally, you wouldn't understand a lot of this movie if you have not also watched the other blood-C related stuff in the franchise. The story is convoluted and difficult to follow at some times, The characters are not well-developed (except for the main character.) But the movie does have like one twist that keeps things interesting for abit. The film also deals with mature themes such as violence and sacrifice.

Additionally, the film is extremely violent and graphic, which may not be suitable for all viewers. The mature themes and dark tone may be off-putting for some and may feel like an edgelord movie at some parts (Kinda is lol), and the pacing can be slow at times.
Furthermore, the ending of the movie is unsatisfying and leaves the audience with more questions than answers. It can be considered unclear and abrupt, leaving the audience disappointed with the lack of resolution and closure.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a well-written, coherent story with well-developed characters and a satisfying ending, "Blood-C: The Last Dark" is not the movie for you. This anime is suitable for a specific audience who is interested in a darker and more mature anime film with a high tolerance for violence and gore.

A truly masterful simple story with a magical passion that drags the audience in both out of sympathy, and excitement for the main character through the anime alone, and yet the movie forced itself on that. The movie wrapped up the main story, tying all loose ends with a forced, cliche plot. Cliche wouldn't necessarily mean poorly done, but it was in bad taste with especially the ending. The budget that flew into this was phenomenal, even appraisal worthy of how beautiful the art direction led, outside of a lot of its cgi moments that stood out, and yet its a shame everything felt rushed, ... and almost just out of passion that the original anime had alone. Overall, cliche themes, weeby bait, and most of all, a flat story had me feeling disappointed for the most part watching this movie. I personally feel as if the main story could've been ended better instead of what seemed to be a harsh cash grab.
