"Watch an anime one-/two-/three-cours (or more) in length" For this challenge if I am watching say Yuru Yuri is it just the third cours that counts towards this challenge or is it all three? For example if I finish off Yuru Yuri and I use the third cours as the item to complete the challenge can I use the first two for other list items? Or do they all have to belong to this challenge? |

Does this mean I can use a fantasy nation? Would have to be within our same universe/world, because if it's a completely different world, such as Trigun to name an example, then everyone is not Japanese since Japan doesn't exit there. There are 3 seasons of Yuru Yuri and each of them is a 1-cour series, therefore you could choose any season for ''Watch an anime with one-cour length''. Now if you want a 3-cour title, then choose a TV series with more than 36 episodes. |

For example if I finish off Yuru Yuri and I use the third cours as the item to complete the challenge can I use the first two for other list items? Or do they all have to belong to this challenge? My explanation used to be on the front page of this thread, if you want to read it. Unlike the official Japanese definition the anime you use doesn't have to be a TV series. Cour refers to the airing period and is only applicable to TV series. One cour is one anime airing season which is three months. It would not be surprising to not understand it as Black Rock Shooter with 8 episodes and The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato with 16 episodes would both be considered one cour by most people even though one is twice as long as the other. In the past anime would take long rest periods without breaking the anime into separate seasons so although The Big O took 14 cour to air it was only actually airing for two of those and should be looked at as a 2 cour anime. Katanagatari is only 12 episodes, each being 50 minutes long, but it only released one episode every month so it is a 4 cour anime. Chi's Sweet Home is 104 episodes long, each being 3 minutes long, and four episodes were released every week so it aired over six months making it a 2 cour anime. Princess Tutu had 13 episodes which were 24 minutes and 25 episodes which were 12 minutes. It aired over four seasons making it a 4 cour anime despite being the same length as a 2 cour anime. Anime with short episodes such as Teekyuu are still the same amount of cour that they took to air. Kekkai Sensen was intended to be a one cour anime but the final episode was delayed well into the following season. Although it took two seasons to air it is still a one cour anime. Kiss x Sis (OVA), Flag (ONA), and Magic Kaito (Special) all have 24 minute episodes and have 12/13 episodes like one cour anime do, but since they are not TV type anime and do not have regular airing schedules they are not considered to have "cours". Magic Kaito was aired on TV, but it was aired as a special series it was not aired one episode per week. Anime that are split into separate seasons are treated as more than one anime. For example, Kirarin☆Revolution is a single anime that is 153 episodes which makes it 12 cour. Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream and its sequels Dear My Future and Rainbow Live are 51 episodes each adding up to 153 episodes but they are three separate 4 cour anime. |

In ost fantasy series I know, people are NOT assumed to be Japanese. They have different names, different country names and when seeing their writing, most of the time it's some random symbols. The only speak Japanese, because, well, it was made in Japan xD But I do get @Puchkov 's opinion and I will agree with it. Thank you! Though, to be fair, it should be made clear in the challenge itself. Even if a fantasy universe has no Japan, it doesn't matter, cause the challenge only asks for the main character not to be japanese, not for the universe to include Japan as a whole. Nothing should rely upon an "it's obvious" thinking 8D It's a legit hole :'D |

I have a few questions regarding my challenge: My Anime Challenge 1. I have Boku no Hero Academia for my "Watch an anime with children as the main cast" but based on other questions and answers I am guessing it doesn't count in that spot. Would Serial Experiment lain or Higurashi no Naku Koro ni be able to work for this category if BnHA doesn't? 2. I am a 32 year old male. Does that mean I can use a Shounen for "Watch an anime with a target demographic that does not apply to you" or do I need to cross gender as well? 3. I could also use a "anime recommended to you by another Anime Watching Challenge participant" hopefully take a look at my list and make recommendation based on my viewing history. Thank you guys in advance!! |

Just for the record, I went back and looked for examples of other people using anime that works for the main cast as children challenge and basically everyone is screwing it up. More then half of the front page has goofed with some people using 16-17 year olds or INFINITELY OLD ALIENS. So, I guess if you are also screwing up on that specific category, you can take solace that you are not the only one, and you're probably closer than some other people. Edit: @Logic340 Peole that are doing it right on the front page are using Non Non Biyori(3/4ths main cast are 12 or under with the 4th being 13ish), Gakkou no Kaidan, Ponyo, and Gakuen Alice. I'm using Major S1. |

It's interesting anime, don't be fooled by moe appearance. Rokka no Yuusha - nice mystery set in fantasy world Sore ga Seiyuu -slice of life showing the life of seiyuu, it's quite enjoyable and cute Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - if you would like a good drama Nagi no Asukara - this is 2-cour, but the story is interesting and so are the relationships among the characters I hope something will catch your interest~ @logic340 I would recommend you Bokurano for the children cast challenge, I think you would enjoy that series. It's a great psychological anime. The kids are 13 years old, which is acceptable according to rules, as they are under 14. |

@namea @Puchkov It says under 12 on the sign up. And 14 was a special exception for people he told was under 14 before he made the rule under 12. If you are asking now, you don't fall under the special exception. Rule is 12, Bokurano doesn't count. This is why stating there is a special exception is a bad idea. |
