Does anyone know if Corpse Party: Tortured Souls could qualify as an anime with a live action adapted from it? I had it in that category and just finished the anime a few minutes ago but the live action is Corpse Party: Blood Drive, I know they both originate from the video game but is the live action based on the anime??? |

It;s really really good man. I think Haikyuu has more like get hype moments, but the character development in DnA is second to none for sports anime. They develop basically every character on the team and it's ALMOST to a detriment at some points because there at times where the main character gets lost. But when he shows up, it's waaaay more meaningful because it's HIS moment. |

For watch an anime with a main character that is not Japanese, does the main character have to be the one who isn't Japanese or can it be any of the listed main cast? I was using Black Lagoon and Revy (Chinese-American), but Rock is technically the main character and Japanese. |

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if I have to finish the anime in one day for this bonus challenge: » Watch an anime series that you can finish in one day I mean technically all anime which are about 24hrs or less can be used for the challenge. However yesterday I marathon-ed around 20 hours worth of anime, but I got a heavy headache after that. So the key word is "can". The anime doesn't need to be watched in a day, right? |

I don't care about the length really. If it's 12 eps anime, 24 eps anime or more, I just want to plan it so I don't watch a part of the anime and finish the anime several days later or so. Then later get told that I have to finish it in a day... |

I've been wondering about this too. I've even heard of someone who said they watched FMAB in a day which is only possible if you skip the theme songs. I'm using Super Seisyun Brothers for that challenge, but all of the anime I'm using for the challenges are less than 24 hours long. |

I guess it should be rewritten but since it's a bonus we don't want to force people to marathon something. It's optional ;D but to answer your question, yes. As for your choices it depends on you and how you feel towards that particular item. For example I was planning on using a 13-something episodes anime with close to 10 mins of duration.... but later on decided to change it to one that has 6 episodes with 18 mins of duration. So it's up to you which one would feel better. There are many choices.... from a 12 episodes anime to even a 15 secs CM xD |

Allthough I find it kind of cheating to put in sequels / prequels or anything related to shows you've already used ... you actually can. The purpose of the AWC is to watch new shows (and not sequels you already know / have seen etc) you normally wouldnt but a lot of people dont have that amount of time to watch everything related to a show you put in for 1 challenge. How's everyone's challenge going?? I'm up to 25 categories completed, im doing it for the first time(level:hard lol) I've seen a lot of series I would have never watched if it wasn't for the challenge, and I have to say I've enjoyed most of them. Has anyone else seen a series they would have skipped on but watched for the challenge and exceeded your expectations? For me I never liked to watch anime movies but damn did I watch some amazing ones for this challenge. Also didn't plan on watching Death Parade but used it because no other car or game anime looked better. I was pleasantly surprised and quite enjoyed it. Plus, I was never going to pick up Nana because it seemed too mainstream and long but I used it for the three cours or more and only on ep 8 but wow its great. How about you guys? |

My first challenge as well, well I did join this year so it's a given :P I'm currently at 31 categories out of 58 (including bonus challenges), basically just trying to finish them so I can watch anime I want to watch again. Well, I didn't move too far from my safe zone, the only one I was unsure of was the music challenge, well turned out great and I apparently love idol anime as well... well the music that is. Also another surprise is the SoL genre, I mean I rarely like SoL anime, but I'm slowly getting into them (again). I didn't want to watch anything for the 3-cour challenge so I just picked a special with ~2 min in each episode which aired for a year (51 eps) |

I've currently completed 29 of the challenges and 4 of the bonuses. I'm essentially watching only anime that I had already wanted to watch, but for different reasons. I finally got to watching Wixoss which I had been recommended by someone who I no longer have contact with well over a year ago (before I started MAL). I also watched Railgun, Vividred Operation, Amagi Brilliant Park, and a few others that I had been planning to watch for a really long time. I'm watching four 4-cour anime and two 3-cour anime, which is a lot longer than what I normally watch (my average time per anime is less than 120 minutes). I'm currently watching Berserk right now and I'm really liking it. I didn't think I would due to the lack of cute girls, but it's actually really enjoyable. Because of the "one entry per challenge" rule I have re-organized my list a lot in terms of which anime goes to which challenge. @SheyCroix does a visual novel count as a video game? |

Thnx4dafood said: Has anyone else seen a series they would have skipped on but watched for the challenge and exceeded your expectations? Well, most of the series I watched for the challenge were already on my radar and I would have watched them eventually anyway. One Outs is the one which I only watched because of the challenge (because most of the staff's other favourites were either stuff I'd already watched, or stuff I definitely didn't want to watch), and really pleasantly surprised me. Despite being about baseball, the most boring sport ever, I still found it enthralling. And unlike the likes of Princess Nine, which are all about the relationships and could have featured any sport without much changing, it's the actual sport of baseball that the show manages to make thrilling. (Also, the challenge encouraged me to give another go at YuruYuri and Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, which were much more pleasant than my first experience with them years ago would have suggested.) Currently I'm at 24 items done, although with the Winter season's end it should jump to 30 or more within a few days. |

Since someone came debating to me about it some time ago I had to research, so I found out that those are "games" for computers then that would make them fit as "video games" since that is defined as "an electronic game that involves human interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device such as a TV screen or computer monitor" (by wikipedia)..... So as to answer your question yes, VN count as a video game. |
