It's nice to see Kayo's arc get some peaceful closure. I admit, I didn't see that twist with the mother coming, but it didn't really make me feel bad for the mom either.

The rest was just build-up for what's to come and so far the teacher is looking pretty fishy still.

So at this point we might as well confirm the teacher is the killer. Saying that you need to "charm" someone, the mountain of candy in the car, and that line where he said "that seems like a place for kidnappers" just seem too obvious.

Still kinda liked the episode, but Kayo was my favorite part of the show. :<

Somehow I'm a bit disapointed with last episode. I can't pin-point exactly what tho. The happy ending of Kayo's ( if it's really the end of Kayo's story) and satoru's dilema on how approaching a new girl break the tension, the thrill that was built, breaking a bit the mood.

I now expect the girl sitting next to satoru ( the one that framed kayo of stealing ) to be the victim, she has now become a loner and the last scene is hinting something like that.

Kayo's part story ended up quite abruptly. It has a romantic swing to the very end at very least.

What is bad, I don't feel it provided the solution to the problem.

Killer is still on the loose, there is no guarantee he won't find Kayo in different part of the town later on and Satoru isn't any close to catching/exposing him. Show is trying to imply it's a bad sign, but Candies doesn't prove anything. There isn't any explanation how killer managed to manipulate the police investigation in at least two different towns, provided that Reporter's words were true.

I'm not sure we can confirm that the teacher is the killer. We can say that the author want us to suspect the teacher but we don't know if it's a story-telling technique to make us think that way or if it's really the case.

Another great episode... That was a nice way to enclosure Kayo's story...
All the candies on the teacher's car was really suspicious, but it may be a red herring, I don't know what else to think about the killer now xD

But what about that ending???? That creepy BGM with that girl. Damn.

I'm really disappointed for Kayo's mother's story. She was good mother but after being beaten up she decided to beat Kayo? I hope it was just a little slip.

Kayo's mom just straight punch her in the face. Going to the police ? Yeah, go surrender yourself and be locked up in jail for the rest of your time.

I believe the intention was that she was in an abusive relationship with Kayo's father, then after she divorced him she kept seeing her abuser in Kayo and took it out on her.

Also, there's no way this is going to be adapted properly. I hoped the anime would find a way, but that hope is swiftly going down the drain. Maybe there'll be a nice original route, but with the second half of this episode, I doubt it.

I got all the evidence now to know who is the center of the murders. In fact this episode pretty much confirmed my theory if it isn't obvious yet.

Great series. I'm glad that this is getting the source ending so I don't have to resort to reading the manga. Its worth the wait to know if what I got from this show is right.

I am sorry that her mom went through a horrible relationship and divorce, but that's not a reason to take it out on her own daughter. So glad Kayo has finally achieved peace.

Candy in the car huh? We all know where that points to. I feel like that's just bait for us to take for some reason.

So I get the feeling that Satoru has changed things so much that the killer is going to switch targets. Perhaps the girl at the end? Or maybe even Satoru himself if he figures out that it's been him that has helped his target allude him.

Ugh, this show is so suspenseful.

I've never read the manga but I'm starting to get really worried based on how many comments saying there's not nearly enough to not completely rush the ending...

Good episode, guess that's the end of Kayo's story based on the other comments I've seen, it was a nice ending. Looking forward to see what they do with the rest of the show. The last few episodes have been quite happy overall (except the mom's backstory I guess, but especially compared to the first 6 or so episodes) so I'm fully expecting depression abound in the next three episodes but we'll see I suppose...

The teacher is starting to look waaaay too obvious. If I were to guess who it was I'd say him, but it just seems too obvious...

I'm not sure that was the directorial intention, because Satoru felt zero sympathy and even called her tears "self pity". I'd like to believe that the intention was simply to explain why she was abusive.

Beginning of this episode was really cringeworthy. The whole matter with Kayo's mother being abused in the past and her mother popping out of nowhere like a deus ex machina felt so cheap. After all that time of showing her as basically a human garbage you cant't try to even partially redeem her just because she had a hard time. Nobody cares about a scum like that.

Such blatant playing on emotions done so badly only robbed the whole resolution of Kayo's story of most of its cathartic value. Instead of feeling relived or content I was still thrown off by how I don't give a damn about the earlier revelation.

Hell, after the whole episode I'm still confused how something like that could get shoehorned in the ending of what was supposed to be a really emotional story and pretty much ruin it so easily. What the crap was the writer thinking?

I think there was way too less build up for the first half. I couldn't sympathize with the mother or her decisions, she just got more unlikeable to me.
Is this really going to be like "Kayo's finished, now the next girl"?
All in all it again felt like the writer used too many poor excuses which were rather illogical.

Since the last manga chapter will air tomorrow (as on the MAL page) I'm really curious which chapter(s) this episode covered. Do they have enough material for a second season? Or are they going to rush the last chapters in the remaining 3 episodes?

It's getting more than obvious to who the killer is now. But with only 3 episodes left we will find out soon anyway. I just hope it isn't rushed as hell and the ending of the series is as decent as it has been so far. This episode was all right.

Still need to read the manga. I probably will after the series ends.

Geez, Kayo's mom is crazy as hell. Using a shovel as a weapon...

I'm really glad she was stopped before shit really escalated out of control. The emotions though..I guess even Kayo's mom can show a bit of it when she saw her own mother. Really liked some of the music used in this episode as well in particular the car chasing scene.

Glad to see his friends still supporting him in search for the killer. Yeah, this adaptation feels rushed though but I guess they're trying to make the most of what they can. Weird ending.

The only way Erased won't turn into a rushed trainwreck is if the developers add some more episodes, possibly through an OVA. But since they already said that this anime would portray the original manga ending, would they be able to take that back?

I'm excited for stuff to go super speedy fast the next three episodes, jk. I read ahead in the Manga and I don't think it will feel that rushed. I liked this episode quite a bit and was glad to see it play out on screen (though I personally thought this episode would cover a bit more due to time constraints). I find it really intriguing that the manga and anime are going to end at roughly the same time as each other, i've never heard of that happening before.

Hmm.. It just seems too obvious that it is the teacher. It so happened that he was in the area while Satoru was following that one girl. He was talking about letting guards down with Satoru, then that whole candy incident happened. The kidnapping items that was in the bus were taken soon after Satoru told the teacher where he was hiding Kayo.. It's just too obvious. Maybe the killer is the child protection guy? (Which I highly doubt.) The killer could be framing the teacher since he'd make an excellent scapegoat. The white birds showed after Kayo left which must mean she's safe and that her life is saved. Maybe it's someone else in the school who has been eavesdropping on everything. Eh, it's probably the teacher.

I disagree about Kayo's grandmother. We've known for several episodes that Family Services has been involved in her case and naturally they'd look into finding another relative to take care of her.

This episode is strong, that fight between Satoru's mother and Kayo's mom was epic it was mostly verbal but you could feel the emotion between the two characters and the teacher and all that candy (suspicious!).

It's really sad that these events are being rushed and we don't get to savour them all.
