i thought yuuji's nudity was pretty tastefully done and was more there to show how oblivious he is to being a normal human being.

But then again, im not a raging homophobe is is so scared to see a naked man that i drop anime over it.

I don't see how him being naked in his own room shows that he's oblivious to being a normal human being. Can you explain?
He is like a body-builder(Body-builder may not be the appropriate word cause according to Yuuji he dont have unnecessary muscles)...He is far from looking like a normal high school student...I think thats what he meant

Well, so far this is like I expected. Not a fan of the harem and fanservice vibes but the mystery elements have me interested for now. Let's see where this goes.

this show isnt a harem.

if you are going to make baseless assumptions due to you inherently hating everything for street cred just stop watching and go watch fate stay night again.

also that feeling when i get scolded for not considering the feelings of fake anime girls.

sorry guys but Yumiko isnt real. I dont care if it offends you that i didnt really like her.

The fanservice was really out of place to me, but hopefully I'll be able to deal with it throughout the course of the show.

With the base being the first episode that puts a male MC in the middle of a class that only consists of girls, I wouldn't call it baseless. The manga adaption is also tagged with harem on MAL. *shrugs*

And yeah, about those baseless assumptions, your reply has already topped me in that matter so that's that.

Solvie's problem is that he should stfu if it doesn't involve him or if his response is fit to have further negative discussion quality. It does have harem vibes to it but was that really needed to be quoted and responded to? fuckin jeezuz

If you get a boner because someone says something about this that you don't agree then take a step outside and take a breather. It's not difficult to have a decency.

Why'd ya care if they think it's a harem and might drop it, it's their choice lol. They gon miss a good anime. why should ya care.

Well good for you either if you drop it or no for whatever weird reasons you come up with, i dont care and so shouldn't other people. You're free to say that you wanna drop it because of your opinion on the value of its quality and people can encourage you to not drop it but they absolutely shouldn't be dropping ad hominen.

Wondering the same right now. This series is the very definition of a harem.

Even more so given that all routes will apparently be covered in one continuous story, so Yuuji will obviously not end up with any girl despite them having/developing feelings for him.

Is it me or it really give a SHAFT feeling..? Well, I checked and saw that it's the same character designer of the Monogatari serie, but even the scenery look oddly similar. The way the camera move, the weird eyes close-up, etc.

So what do we have : a weird and shameless thief, a bomb maker, a deluded tsundere, an exacto maniac, an innocent loli and... a sniper rifle? I don't get what the fuck is going on, but it sure is intriguing me.

Kazami sister name sure rang a bell to Amane. I'll call it already : her shamelessness is due to the fact that she have been raped, one time or multiple time. That or she was forced into prostitution. Something like that, it's always that way...

There was a lot of fanservice for everyone. Yuuji being bare naked for a good while, Amane with her ''nice tits'', a damn lot of panties shots. Yep, I'm gonna like that show.

Also, Michiru is the most adorable girl so far.

Harem by anime viewers is considered as a synonym for very bad shows with many unlikeable girls, often lolis, and teh weakest protagonists in history that all deserve a school days ending. Neverminding good harems or pseudo harems like TWGOK. So yeah its not dat kind and good choice to describe it. :)

Also its not really a harem just because there is a harem kinda goin' on or possible. (Just considering Kajitsu, not the sequels).

The game isn't harem because the story doesn't focus on the love between him and all the girls at once.

Yuuji is just attractive. Bein attractive makes girls love you. But it is coincidental...dont let your jealous over anime guys having more girlfriends than you push you into b itching about good shows.

First of all, the animation was decent. I haven't seen some flaws yet. Second, the MC is buff as fuck. Not very common in all MC's. His attitude is not entirely unique.
The characters got introduced one at a time; like always.

Oh fuck! That explains his muscular appearance. That ending though. Well that turned my curiosity as well as my expectations to the max.

Well, it was ok. Some chracters were annoying (headmaster's voice and Michiru's acting mostly) and I hated that censhorship but it seems all of them are big weirdos.

Amane being MC's lost sister that survived bus crash is interesting backstory.
MC being covert assassin is also something not so usual.
Sakaki being erratic psycho is even better.

Just about every person in this school is mentally derailed.

The question is - do I want to watch this or would I be better off with playing the game?

After-all as said the game's quality will never change and always be good, so watching the anime can't harm your expectations if you haven't read it yet. If the adaptation turns out less than stellar, which i seriously doubt, then you can always goto the game afterwards and see it's true potential.

I thought so. I have yet to watch the anime that would be better than actual animation of it.

The thing is, some VNs are not worth it (like last year's Walkure Romanze). But Grisaia has been on my todo list for too long now and I guess I can give it a try right now and watch anime later (as I don't like to be spoiled before).

Even though that with one million words it's one of the longest novels ever (well, the only ones that are longer are KGNE, LB, Clannad and FSN and those really took me quite a while).

Well, good-bye my free time.

We are talking about a top tier VN here. I think the quote on that level is good(WA2 being the newest sample) enough to be at least a starting point into the franchise.

Also its a 20 minute/week investment vs. 50-80 hours lol. I dont think the VN is always the best choice to start^^ Even if its to soon to say that in Grisaias case, its not a bad sign at least now.
