Me too. It matched her real personality.

A good conclusion. It was sad to see Ayase die the way she did...

Wow another amazing episode its interesting to see the domino effect going on with the letters. I can understand why she killed her father now and I'm glad it seems he deserved to die but its very sad that both she and Shouta had to lose their lifes.

Ah, this episode was much nicer. I liked how everything connected, especially the letters. From father to lover to friend to sister. <3

I like Fumika better now, too, especially with that kickass gun twirling she did, haha! And I still love Kanaka, though her pendant form reminded me of Shakugan no Shana.

I like when stories flip around to give you a totally different perspective of everything and everyone! Asuna's dad was a real creep. I'm glad Asuna protected her sister, even though it was a drastic way to handle it, but that's what happens when emotions run high, I suppose. Poor Asuna. And I liked her look WAY better when she cut her hair and changed her outfit. She looked so much sexier then. X3

It's sad that she's gone and now it's just Miku. But I loved the ending with the rocket scene, with all of their names on it, and the zoom out on Asuna. <3

This was just beautiful... I still think Asunas deserve to rot in hell since she killed Shouta without deserving it (the dude was willing to pretend nothing happened).

Looks like the father deserved it after all and he was planning to pimp his younger daughter too. T_T I console myself that I get to see the rocket fly, I guess that's something in these chain of tragedies.

It's really sad and tragic... I never expect to be this heavy. Too bad Asuna got shot and didn't get a second chance in life. Stupid cop!

Well, now that I've watch this I expect there'll be more 'deaths' in future episodes. Better not get attach to the characters.

4 words - awesome show so far

1 question about Asuna's 'job'.

Do they just take pictures or do they also violate her physically?

I know both acts are bad, but one would impact her mental state more than the other. Just curious of what you guys think.

Guess I'm the only one that doesn't feel the least bit of a sympathy for Asuna, killing Shouta without a single thought made me not really care what her reasoning was. I feel for her on the issue about her father, but Shouta's case was a lot different, all I have to say can be summed up by Ai Enma:
Yami ni madoishi awarena kage yo (O pitiful shadow bound in the darkness,)

Hito o kizutsuke otoshimete (Looking down upon people, and causing them pain)

Tsumi ni oboreshi gou no tama (A soul drowned in sinful karma...)

Ippen shinde miru?(Want to try dying this once?)

Good show so far tho

"I hope your rocket will reach its destination."

Considering that Shouta's feelings reached Asuna, no matter how late, I think that it did. Nice, bittersweet ending to the tale of these two. 5/5.

This episode delves into the problems with the society.

However, I still haven't found any logical explanations as to why she would stab shouta in the first place. This whole thing is just pure illogical, and even makes me think that females are just naturally illogical beings to begin with. But I really wished it was all part of Shouta's hallucinations after realizing the world is crashing down.

Going into the psychological factors, I think that the fact Shouta knew about this whole thing and hiding it from her, but instead "summoned" others to "arrest" her, made her equate Shouta to her father in this way. She probably thinks that all males are nasty beings deep down in her heart, and treat women as sexual objects. All those feelings made her unable to sustain herself and so she stabbed...

But why Shouta? After all those good times they have been through...

And why didn't she even get the hint that he likes her even after all those times...

And why would she even regret killing shouta after seeing his letter, but not the moment when she killed him. The way I see is this: Shouta says, "I believe in her!". Then stabbed to death. And the letter basically illiterates the same thing!! So why even regret if all she wanted is "erasing her existence."....
Why even stab if you are just going to regret later on?

This is purely illogical!!!!

This is really great so far. Every letter has led to a death in some way, I'm curious if this chain-of-events will continue like this. First Shouta gets a letter, then he dies. Then Asuna gets a letter, then she dies. Now Miku gets a letter... Since she's a little girl I doubt she's going to die, but if it really does keep going this way I'm interested in seeing how things play out.
Some parts of this post may be exaggerated.

Great episode indeed, I find it oddly paralyzing that the roof on which Shouta worked on his rocket belonged to the very same building the pictures of Asuna were taken in.

Same...it didn't process in my mind last episode, but I made the connection this time, everything came together. It made sense how they met then, and why she sought Shouta's company.

Honestly didn't expect myself to cry, but this was a very emotional episode. While Ayase had a lot of darkness in her heart, and on a conscious level hated Shouta, she subconsciously was attracted to his brightness, being able to dream. In the end, it was like the detective said, she was pure. She ran to see the rocket that Shouta finished, and the waterworks came down when I saw the "Asuna + Miku" on the rocket. How can she not be moved by such sincerity? I don't find it particularly tragic (nor do I think it was meant to be tragic) that Ayase was shot, since at that moment she became free, and was able to watch the rocket launch. We are only supposed to sympathize with her to an extent, since not everyone is 100% likable or justified in everything that they do.

The ending of the episode was perfect, Miku receiving an "unusual letter that contains the purest and most beautiful sentiments in the world."

Lol I thought Asuna getting shot and then watching the rocket launch while dying it would be a nice way to end the story... didn't expect it to actually happen.

"Then and now, what I protect has never changed!" -Sakata Gintoki

My sentiments exactly. Shouta did nothing wrong; his death was unjustified. I find it hard to sympathize with Asuna when she did that to the one other person who truly cared for her.

Really an excellent episode to close this first story. I enjoyed the dark and melancholic tones of the narrative, even after so many years, this episode has made me feel the same feelings I experienced long ago when I first saw it. The atmosphere of this series reminds me so much of the anime series of Rozen Maiden.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I found this episode to be very moving. She acknowledged her suppressed feelings of guilt (and likely regret) over the incident with Shouta (as well as unfortunate circumstances in which they met) and gave him a proper send off.

This definitely left a bittersweet aftertaste in my mouth... honestly I'm feeling pretty depressed over it all, but that's not to say I didn't like the story or anything - it's just very sad.

More or less was right on my prediction on why she killed her dad, only part I got wrong being it was for her sister's stake.

It was a good ep, but I'm not overtly impressed. So far everything has been in the realm of predictability.

Her dying was more or less the only possible ending to this story before it switched to the next. Frankly Ayase got off easy dying rather than spending years in prison for double murder.
