Another superb episode, though I can't figure out what was altered with it; No giantic censors as there was in episode 3.
I figured(just like the rest of you) that Fumika's wounds would heal, but I found it funny that her clothes healed as well. But it's anime, that stuff always happens.
Kirameki got what he deserved, and we got some background story on Fumika. :D

I also didn't notice any trace of alteration (Kirameki's abuse scene?). Now I understand why Fumika said "your daughters" to Kirameki: Fumi & Mika the double personality. I first thought Shigofumi gonna be an omnibus anime like Shinigami no Ballad, but seems like they put Fumika at the center of the story. It's good to see more about Fumika's emotional aspect.

OMG, i didn't expect that.. Fumika's dad is schizophrenic or has atleast mental disorder because his wife left him. And so, he abused Fumika because Fukima looks like the women who betrayed him. Through abused, Fumika developed multipersonality.

Well, anyway, awesome episode. That should finish up Fukika's arc. Now the question is how she got selected as a Shigofumi courier. lol

If I'm guessing correctly, they darkened or somehow altered the abuse. If they didn't do that I'm blind or just an idiot.

Anyways, this ep was absolutely superb. If I could give this show a 12 I would.

Loved this episode, Shigofumi is quickly burning through my ranks.
So Fumika was Mikawa's other personality, now that's something I wasn't expecting. Man, I wanted Kirameki to suffer more for what he did to poor Mikawa =(
Looking forward to the next episode, as always =P

They really got a lot into that one episode. I really enjoyed it, though I wonder how much was censored. And next episode looks great :V

I'm a sucker for split personalities, this episode was amazing. I think I have a guess at what has been altered. Fumika's dad didn't use any black ink. At all. Only his glass pen and carved the symbols into Fumika's skin, what you saw as black was actually red. Blood. Very sick.

Can't wait for more.

not tooo huge a censor... in fact i think it actually made the show more artsy.

favorite ep for me so far. It was great to see Fumika (or should i say Mika) show some emotions.

Now i'm wondering where the show will go

I loved this episode, I didn't expect the double personality thing.
And from the preveiw looks like the other mailgirl (can't remember her name =P) will try to act like a normal human to find out Fumika's past and Fumika's mother is going to come back.
Can't wait.

As expected, Fumika had a split personality. The ep was awesome too, and the series is becoming less episodic and more centered on the main heroin, which is just great if the quality of the animation and the script remain as excellent as it is till the end => 10/10

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Good episode, but I was kind of disappointed in the end. It looked to me as if Kirameki would wound up dead in the end but he didn't. :| Oh well. It was cool to know that Fumika has two personalities as well.

I really didn't like the ending, it was all built up for the final confrontation, but he gets off because hes a writer. It reminded me of the theory in Crime and Punishment, the whole privileged people can do anything they want to get what they want done because they are above everything. I mean nothing happened to him, he gets off and everybody walks away smiling. Meanwhile, the tortured little girl is in a coma probably hating her other self (and by that, hating herself too) because that is how she was trained to think. It really is unfair, but maybe I am the only one thinking like that. Oh, and I hope there will be explanation about the whole Shigofumi carriers society and the such and later episodes because we still are in the dark about that.

It was an incredible episode! Who would have thought that the answer lay in the fact that Fumika had split personality? ^_^ It is never a good idea to use your daughter as your rough draft, a very valuable life lesson.... Can't wait for the next episode, it's called reunion after all!

I was wondering that too until I remembered it was a glass pen. I'm willing to bet on the blood and carving into her skin though. That would make him even more sick, if that's possible.

Great episode, loved it. I like that they're finally focusing on Natsuka, Kaname, Fumika, and Chiaki. We finally got to hear Fumika's past, and the split personality thing was pretty cool, although I'm still a little confused on which one's which. So, Mika was the original child, and then created Fumi who took over when Mika couldn't stand the pain anymore, and basically stayed in control with Mika in the back of her mind till the shooting. Is that right?

Being Written on with a glass pen with ink is painful enough. Being written on without ink provides a unstandable pain :S.

That makes sense, but wouldn't that have left a lot of scars? She didn't seem to have any, at least not to the extent she would have to have if that were the case...

If he let her go to school, it meant he only truly wounded her in non-visible parts. You can tell he used ink at the beggining and was doing it just like he did to his editor. It was whenever he got mad that he began truly digging into her skin. So yeah, they basically just blackened the blood so you couldn't tell which was blood and which was ink. I actually twitched when he not only carved but broke the glass pen inside her skin. That most have truly hurt.

Anyway, amazing episode. And he didn't got off the hook in the end just because he was a writer (although his publishers did bail him out for that reason during the shooting incident), but rather because had the police come, the ones who would have ended up in deep trouble was the attackers, not Mikawa, who would have been considered the attacked in the incident. The only one who would have proven he was the guilty party is technically in a hospital with a coma, and I don't think the police would believe her second personality became a mailman from the great beyond (with a talking staff to boot). I think he will end up getting his just desserts when Fumi-chan wakes up.

This episode was intense. I was wondering how they were going to resolve the issue of Fumika being alive and a mail carrier at the same time but some how they did and very cleverly too. I just wish they hadn't reused the same idea from the second episode again with the whole child abuse thing.

Maybe now Im picky, but I can not completely agree. We all hate somebody....thats a fact. But there is no "need" for it (I hope)...there are reasons!

<--- The world would be a better place if we would stop hating and start dancing like them, the "caramelldansen"! *kidding*

I don't know about this one. A drop in quality for me as far as the writing is concerned. For a show that has been, up to now, quite brave about its subject matters everything here just wraps up way too neatly for my liking and spoils the mood set up so well from episode 1 onwards.

Hope things improve in the next episode.

The way in which the abuse is shown actually makes it more disturbing. And now we understand why Mika had something of a flashback in that early episode in which that girl killed her father who forced her to pose for porn shots. Must have resonated with her in a very personal way.

Great episode. It was heartbreaking when Fumi is shouting, "I love you, I love you!" and her dad's tearing into her. The scary part is that the publishing company hid Kiramkei's crazy antics from public. Makes you wonder what other stuff he's done that they never told.

Interesting episode and there i was thinking this series was all about sub stories with hardly any connection. Fumika's father is really a nutcase, going crazy just because his wife left him. She doesnt deserve any of that child abuse, a bullet in his head is what he needs.
