Is this how teenagers all meet each other nowadays? Man, guess I was born a couple years too early, I missed all this stuff.

I think its fair to say at this juncture A-1 is the most polarizing company in the industry. I would just like some indication that they care at all about anything the adapt and aren't just choosing titles based on how popular they are and how many Blu-Rays they think they can sell cause frankly it doesn't look like they do much.
I'm not sure if I should read this as "A-1 only wants money! they don't even care about what they make" or "poor A-1 needs money so badly they don't even get to enjoy themselves".

The former.

Not my cup of tea. Good for the fans though.

Still waiting for a LN aimed at females to get animated. Waiting...waiting...

A-1 Pictures isn't really good with action shows. They have had their ups with them, but they don't usually give them a good adaptation. I love A-1 though.

Also, A-1 Pictures are great at comedy/slice-of-life.

You know, these shows are probably like a fund raiser for them. When you bake brownies for a bake sale, you don't really care about the brownies, you care about raising money for your cause. You just quickly slap something together that you know people will spend money on.

And I can only hope that their "cause" is making anime that don't suck ass. Like Shinsekai Yori.

As long as people buy them (or more like as long as people buy such LNs). It's the most safe case than you as the studio need to get some money

A-1 is producing more masterpieces hope this will compare to the likes of light novel harem num. 658765976 that they released on the noitamina block last winter and their two masterpieces this spring.

Sigh, more of these light novels... There's a guy MC, there are magical girls, at a school, little plot, lots of hijinx...THEY'RE ALL THE SAME! But it's what sells right now, so they'll pump as many as these out while the iron is hot. Even if there are other stories more deserving! (Goddamnit, A1 Pictures, continue Gin no Saji!)

Yeah,I figured that one out. I guess we can only hope that people will get tired of these LN after a while. (I mean a lot of them are just carbon copies of each other)
Then again,I'll stop complaining now because as far as I know, there aren't any battle girl harems this spring season. :D

This is one of the problems with the anime industry. How many people in this topic complain that it's a generic ecchi harem LN adaptation, yet say "I'm still going to watch it"? There's obviously a market for this rehashed shit, that's why it keeps getting made. You fools are the ones who keep fueling the fire, even though you know it will be mediocre at best.

The anime looks great. Julis looks so attractive, and action/echii is always is entertaining to watch.

There's no PV or anything to judge how it looks ;_;

Sometimes you can judge the anime from the cover and genre. This anime sound similar to other action/fantasy/echii anime out their like Testament or world break and these types of anime are always entertaining.

Nanatsu no Taizai and magi still much better and more entertaining than 90% of other anime that I watched. It does not matter if their adaption is not good.

Will LiSA sing the theme song or Garnedilia Choices... Choices...

Is there any reason to believe A-1 cares any more or any less than any other studio about how many discs of their anime sell? They seem to have been on a roll lately in terms of disc sales (Shigatsu, Aldnoah, Saekano) but I'm not sure that means they care any more or less about disc sales than any other studio. Are they even investing as part of the production committee so that they make a profit off of the discs, or are they perhaps more of a contracted studio that doesn't benefit from disc sales? Though if Aniplex is a significant investor and they are both part of Sony, then perhaps they do care. But who knew that Shigatsu and Saekano would sell as well as they did (at least the 1st volumes)? I don't think either of those were sure things. And Aldnoah is an original anime isn't it? Every show is potentially a risky investment, so if you invest in more shows, you have potentially more risk. And I respect that kind of risk taking. A-1 has what, 4 shows for Spring? And they had 4 last season right? If they are investing in the production committees, that seems like quite a bit of risk. Of course, quantity doesn't necessarily equate to quality, but whether you like their shows or not, at least they're trying to appeal to a variety of anime fans.

I'm not too experienced in such things. However, I think it's more an advertisement for aniplex/sony than an actual way to make a profit, because for such huge corporation as Sony the amount of money they make from freaking anime is just ridiculously low compared to their merchandise. So I don't really think they much care about disks sales. So it's natural they are trying to contest media.
They also gets more money from broadcasters and merchandise, than disks.
Just my theory.

Not to mention, if they actually were gaining money from this practice, what have they been doing with it? Have they used said money to make good shows? I guess your Lie In April was beautiful, but how much of that was actually from the SAO money?
