| That purple guy ruins the "dark" theme. Then in addition to that, there's this fucking censoring and the visual quality isn't anything special. This is one of those anime that had a great potential but ended up trash. |

Don't forget kaneki already has the kagune of an S rank ghoul so its not a bullshit setting. I hate to say it but they did mess up some of the stuff. Its now safe to say that the manga is superior than the adaption in every way. 4/5 for this episode though |

But that doesn't matter at all to Kaneki wound because it wasn't the cup that hurt him at all. 3rd - Kaneki is a little different from the other ghouls. Normally is body is fragile like a normal human(or at least a little harder than human but weaker than the normal ghoul), that was explained when Nishio was beating him. Kaneki body react to danger, his feel of danger, not actual danger(basically a surprise attack would still work), and activates his ghoul characteristics, including the hardening, that is showed by the activation of the black eye with red pupil. All this explanation for what? It could happen that a accidental cut would injure Kaneki, but an intentional or one that he would recognize as dangerous, would not. Final pointt: The anime added another complication to the story and didn't even tried to explain it at all. :S Just assume that everything in the anime works, even if it doesn't :/ |

| i would go to Japan right now and beat the crap out of the director. How do they even think it will sell if they make such an awful adaptation? Can't they just follow that damn manga properly? Do they really think that their storywriting is much better than mangaka's? This could be one of the best shows out there if they had followed manga and didn't skip and rush all major dialogues, scenes and events. Doesn't mangaka have any word on the making of anime? How could he let them butcher manga to this shit? |

Note: - that Gantz and Elfen Lied were the most popular titles of the magazine at the time and they had the same exact treatment than Tokyo Ghoul right now. - Right now Kingdom, Tokyo Ghoul and Terra Formars are the most popular titles in the magazine. Kingdom got a terrible first season and a half terrible second season, with everything basically made with an horrible 3D(and it was from Studio Pierrot as well), but at least it had 77 episodes(38 1st season, 39 2nd season). Terra Formars will have an adaptation next season, It will probably have a similar treatment(Le'ts hope it doesn't). | I don't see what's all the hype about this show is. Sure it's an interesting concept where the ghouls have to deal with fitting in to society while eating people, but really. I don't need to be reminded that every time a ghoul eats real food, it tastes awful. And Kaneki is always like: "oh, the struggle. It's hard to be a ghoul and live a normal life". I just feel like this show is trying so hard to show the struggle of being a ghoul that it's getting repetitive. And what's up with that censoring? This show is plenty bloody so it's kinda stupid that they're not completely showing it. Gosh darn it if you're making a show that involves humans getting eaten and blood splattering everywhere then don't change all of the colors!! Anyway, I felt bad for Taro ;_; he just wants approval from his mamma but he gets ripped open. And that tear :'( |

The manga is well done, but the adaptation is falling short. Sadly, there's a huge difference between the manga and anime. | @Noodle070 The hype of this anime mostly came from the development of Kaneki in the manga who goes from Ikari Shinji (Evangelion) to Accelerator (Index) which will probably happen at the end of this season.... Though now that they've butchered most of the details, I don't know how the anime will fare.. |
| This is getting better every episode. Really like the foreshadowing of the ''upcoming'' enemy and some new info about the ghouls. As for Tsukiyama, I really like him. Yet creepy, he is a really unique and complex carachter. But overall, this episode feels a bit too rushed. I also really hope that they don't make to 12 episodes. |

| Gourmet seems interested in Kaneki. Thing are so tough for ghouls, poor Touka... I like how Yomo is a bro figure to Kaneki, like their bond. Definitely among my favs. But seriously, to think Gourmet would got that low.. That was some nice thinking, take Taro as a bull. Good going, Kaneki. "Mamaa" = quote of the week. | Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances. He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter. Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga. Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month. Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel. The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck. |

| Hmm, I dunno why they didn't let Kaneki demonstrate, that he had learned how to fight quite a bit already, in the scrapper scene. Also it's a pity that they are afraid to adapt the most gory scenes. TheFallenGuard said: Does anyone else think the MC is annoying?
