| It's quite unique as an OVA, had an eerie vibe to it. Unfortunately the video I watched was of mediocre quality, I think I would've enjoyed it more if otherwise. |

| I definitely loved it. I was completely impressed with the plot, the idea, the characters----and how they were able to summarize everything in only three episodes. You couldn't go past 1/4 of the episode without something interesting happening. |
| I liked the series as a whole but did feel I was missing something, maybe I should watch it again soon. But I did love the music and the way it looked |

| it was a brilliant show!! decent one!! Shinbou Akiyuki is definitely a genious director. And Inoue Marina is perfect with voicing and singing as usual! But what really is beautiful is the methaphorical story. It goes about a novice artist, who was once biased by the artwork of another one and who is now going through hell and living water trying to find his own unique artstyle. Fantastic anime! |
| Well, i'll be the odd one out. It's true that the atmosphere, music, and visuals were well done. But, I think that the characters were very flat and I really really dislike it when a show forgoes character development for pretty graphics. I do understand that it was never really the point, nor intention, to focus on the characters; and the storytelling shows this. But, it is possible to make the story ambiguous while still developing the characters. 6/10. it was entertaining but it just wasn't as deep as it pretended to be imo. |

| Holy... this show was one hell of a rollercoaster ride. It was kinda confusing at first, but I'm glad everything was revealed in the end. I'm not sure what to think about this... It's so unique and artistic. |

| This episode patched up every hole, at least for me. How deep or not deep something is depends on how far someone is willing to look into it. So for me it just pushed the right button. Having mixed feelings throughout of it, I found this tention made this a great watch for me. 5/5 and overall 10/10, one of the few i have given. |

| I liked this episode (and this anime) in general. But the odd things is that I don't know why I liked it. Overall, I would think it was ok at best. Like I said, ...odd. |

| This last episode was so powerful for me. I definitely got goosebumps when he dipped his paintbrush into his own blood. Both literally and symbolically, that scene was so vivid, I think I'm going to remember it forever. One thing that really struck me afterwards was how when he reunited with Cossette, I thought to myself "this is so hokey and absurd that it just feels fake, maybe I'll have to dock a point." Then, it turns out, that was the fake Cossette! It's just so interesting that they subtly changed her character during that scene, so subtle that I attributed it to bad writing. So yeah, I don't know what insan3soldiern is talking about, I thought the characterization was wonderful, this is one of my 10/10 anime for sure. |

| This was brilliant. As an Edgar Allan Poe enthusiast, I saw a LOT of thematic elements that reminded me of his works. But seriously, this little 3-episode OVA was stupendous. The atmosphere, the mood, the visuals, the music... It all fit together perfectly. |
| Overall it was as meaningless as it's meaningful o.O The music was....'beautiful' is not enough to describe it, the art was fine, the plot was good and bad in the same time. A show that's hard to be described with words...There were too many unnessecary stuff, the story aws lost at times and too confusing... It was hard to complete it! Very powerful ep...I loved the part where he started painting with his own blood <3 5/10 ... I think.... |

| I don't frighten easily. And indeed, despite the fact that I appreciate its place within the horror genre, nothing in Le Portrait de Petit Cossette particularly frightened me. ...until the last five seconds. That final chord followed by that drumbeat filled me with indescribable terror. |
| While I really liked this series, it was quite confusing and I got lost quite a lot. Then I read the manga and a lot of it made a lot more sense. I still really liked how they did the anime though. |

| Absolute work of art. It will remain my #2 ranked anime for probably quite some time (it was surpassed by Madoka, another Shinbou masterpiece). The third episode has so much... "warmth". Eiri didn't want to paint a picture of a picture! He wanted to paint the "real" Cossette. The real Cossette has has those little things (flaws) that aren't in the paintings. In the paintings she was "perfect", not real. I absolutely love how this ends. It's still my favorite ending of all anime I have seen. It's so touching, heartwarming, and full of love. The ED song is now stuck in my head (and has been for the past 3 days)... I wonder how long it will be there... |

| The story is pretty deep, with stunning visuals and a beautiful soundtrack. Definitely worth watching! And that obsessive love :O |

| Great finale, but too bad the series wasn't longer so it had more time to develop into a well done story. Lots of holes and overall could have been done a lot better with some more time. That being said, still fairly enjoyable for what it was though. :) |

| It was okay not even scary. I felt like they just took a complicated plot and made it even more complicated since they believe everyone read the manga. Like they have a masochistic freak for a lead who loves to endure pain to prove his love for the girl who wants to sacrifice his soul by torturing him physically and mentally. Could it get any better? 6/10 |
| Not your typical show, not a bad show. IMO, if they were to remake this with a tone of Budget and modern graphic at their disposal and develop their character a little better, this could turn into something really crazy. |

| A fantastic composition true to its melancholic theme to the very end. Love, hatred, forgiveness and guilt are not uncommon motifs in anime, but it's rare for it to be expressed with such sincerity, depth and symbolism. 8/10 |
| Well, this is without a doubt my favourite anime (any medium for that matter) now. I'm annoyed at myself for not watching it until now. Every question I had was beautifully wrapped up in this final episode. The phenomenal art, symbolism and sound had me entranced the entire time and I could not take my eyes away from this unique series for a second. The series certainty has a lot of depth that I was able to wholeheartedly enjoy it as I pieced everything together. What really blew me away was this episode. This is the perfect example of romance done to absolute perfection. The passion Eiri exhibits is moving and as a result, the ending is very touching. All his and Cossette's emotions were sincere and captivating to watch. I would love to see more but at the same time I wouldn't. This is definitely a masterpiece and very very underrated. |

| Despite its many shortcomings, like weak plot, bland characters (except Cossette), the animation was good and the OST is some of Yuki's finest. Also it ended well, with Cossette reborning into that chicks body. 7/10 |

| This was some kinky/trippy sht XD I thought something was off with Cossette when they entered :O lol So the girl was reborn into Shoko or maybe she's still around in that place with dead and the living based on th elast seconds. 8/10 |

| This OVA is simply under appreciated. Please, anyone should remake this into longer series and call Yuki Kajiura back to work on the OST. I've rewatched it again and again and still, Cosette's beauty is haunting me. If I was Eri, I'd been dead |

The themes were all nicely visually presented and the scenarys just looked gurgeous at times.Noteworthy is also how it had a variety of different styles,all really fitting to represent the mood/feel of each scene. This is an anime you can't judge/rate based on your basic formula and it would be foolish to do so imo.I know it gets overused but this OVA...is art,about art. For a moment I thought I was watching EoE(LillithRei) again. Really enjoyed this anime and will rewatch it soon 7/10 and I'm surprised I liked it because the director is one of my least favourites... I'm surprised that this has a manga,because I honestly can't imagine experiencing it through another medium. |

| I like this anime, much like the same way Eiri fall in love with Cossette, If I had want a romance story whether it is Anime or live action series, I'd want it to be this OVA. However. I'd probably like this more if this was more "friendly", some of scene when Eri's changed are kinda dragged and I kinda dislike the fact that both main characters always naked whenever they go to other universe aka the very important scene in every episode, I mean c'mon, There's no difference on the story if they just gave cossette the costum she was wearing throughout the series right? Sigh, I guess it just anime being anime. |

| Two things I learned after watching this show, (1) Never be with a pedo, it will get you killed. (2) Shinbou will be Shinbou, pretentious directing with multiple pointless off shots and never put focus on where it should. Great premise with terrible directing and execution. |
