Good great mother of tsukkomi... what the fuck was that?

They can do everything on at least an average level but when it comes to the main point of the show, they screwed it up so bad that I'm seriously considering if they wrote the storyboard while being sober or not.

I'll probably end up watching it because every season I need at least a show I can rage at so that the rest of the shows I watch feel better.

Really hit and miss, with more miss than hit. Not drop-worthy for me though, once the characters are better established maybe some of the humor will come across better.

I recall that there was an earlier anime series in 2007 where we saw
Kokonoe (九重) as an elementary school student. Now we are seeing
her all grown up as a second-year high school student. Let hope that
she doesn't hassle her teacher so much now. I found it hilarious when
Kokonoe moved her hand so, so, so slowly so that she used up all of
their budget for anime frames. Note that a typical anime episode
only has about 5000 frames, believe it or not.**

. . Kokonoe back in 2007

Nah, it's not as blatantly lesbianatic as Yuru Yuri. Plus YrYr, imo, didn't have to try as hard as this does to get a laugh out of you.

After watching one episode and replaying it several times, I don't forsee that
this is some huge hit that is going for play for multiple seasons and become
some kind of phenomenon.

The concept of a "Go Home Club" is a great joke, based on people using
this expression in real life to indicate that they didn't join any club. But this
is strictly funny one time only.

I like the character designs. I like the fact that they are drawn sufficiently
differently so that I can easily tell them apart and remember who is who. I
see some nice facial expressions. On the other hand, I don't see a breakout
character. Maybe that little animal will do something in later episodes. It
seems that the main character is this first-year student Natsuki Andou,
( 安藤 夏希 / あんどう なつき ). She has the mega-ahoge. MorningGlory just
mentioned the "Boke-Tsukkomi" style humor, and she seems to be playing
the Tsukkomi role (i.e. "the straight man"). Apart from that, I haven't seen
a reason to be fascinated by her just yet.

For that girl (already forgot her name and don't care to look it up), going
around attacking bears is semi-interesting. But harassing wildlife is not
great for a big laugh. Bears and people do fight in real life and the odds
are about 50/50 even when the people are armed with guns and bear
spray.

Being ultra-rich is nice. Maybe some people here remember the Richie
Rich comic books. But Kokonoe didn't do anything particularly thrilling
this episode except move her hand very slowly. The random concept
of buying a stationery story just to get an eraser with a pink cover did not
make me laugh. But Kokonoe has unlimited power due to her wealth.
So all she has to do is make one phone call and Karin should get the
right eraser within an hour. So you can write your own script of a funny
way by which this could be accomplished. How about if Kokonoe gets
a piece of pink paper, a pair of scissors and a piece of tape and ...

Getting people's names wrong is semi-interesting. Okay, her name is NOT
Furukawa. It is Furuhashi. I'll try hard to remember that for episode 2.
I do like Furuhashi's hairstyle, but it must require enormous amounts of
hairspray.

In real life, feeding pigeons is a really, really interesting activity. But maybe
it was not a great decision to spend time focusing on it. There was some
good animation work though.

I really do like the "Cute Girls Do Cute Things" genre of anime. Typically,
we see things spiced up in some way beyond basic CGDCT. One alternative
is that it can be Ecchi, but they haven't gone there yet. Another option is
to have a character or a couple who are into a Yuri relationship. A fujoshi
is also nice. Either that, or it should have some kind of really distinct feature
such as the ultra-realistic guitars in K-On. I also like the traditional Japanese
theme of Joshiraku.

What this series does incorporate are mild fantasy elements. For example,
a bear fight would not realistically be that way. You could possible
damage a plastic water bottle with a burst of air, but it wouldn't be cut
like that. Some people compared this to Nichijou.

At this point, I am struggling hard to think of a reason why this series is
going to be better that Yuyushiki.

On the other hand, the first episode of Lucky Star basically was a total
disaster. But the series was a timeless classic overall. So I see enough of
interest to at least watch Episode 2.

wow, lots of tsukkomi in only one episode. some of the jokes weren't really funny, but there were also some hilarious ones. i laughed few times, especially in the fake ending scene (twice), the 4 bear kings scene and ice cream scene.

got no problem with the seiyuu, but that ahoge was really distracting...

i hope next ep will be better

Pretty good! It started off as a standard show but it quickly escalated. The relationship between the pragmatic Natsuki and everyone else in the club offers itself to some funny moments. I really enjoyed the twice recalling of the ED and the Bear story. I like how it keeps the action fresh by splitting it in to short stories. Very imaginative and eccentric at times but that's how I like 'em. Although, Natsuki's ahoge was really out of place and offputting. Most of my attention was centered on that instead of her.

Catchy and quiry OP and ED too. I'm kinda excited for future episodes.

The great part of Yuyushiki was that each week we would see the girls go online
and find some new information, discuss it, and summarize it on the white board.

What they should have done is search on the internet for a better anime series.

However, I think that they had a very good opening credits sequence.

The seiyuu is the biggest problem. All are rookies except (in relative term) Kido Ibuki (who voices Natsuki) and sometimes the voice acting is really hard to bear. The problem is much more intense than say Aiura where it is also mainly voiced by rookie seiyuu.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

It's the first ep and i'm already enjoying this. Those massive retorts and even breaking the fourth wall totally kept me hooked on this. This could be the comedy anime of the season for me. Natsuki's ahoge doesn't really bother me one bit.

Though i also have to agree that the new seiyuus need some work done, but then since they're debuting, there's still room for improvement.

Definitely will keep on watching this.

I liked the ED trying to start early. The second time it did it, I was like, "No. Stop it. Go back to the show.".

Also, when Claire suggested buying a stationary store, I mentally paused, trying to see if I read that wrong but it ended up that I was right and had the same reaction as Natsuki.

I don't know what to make of this anime. yes I laughed at some of the jokes, but unlike in Yuyushiki from last season, this one doesn't have consistent pacing that I can feel yet. I'm also a little concerned at some of the artwork. I understood maybe graying out the other classmates, but something about that strikes me as laziness, intended to appear as a style.

I don't know if I'll hang on to the end of this one, but so far its 'okay'.

Not bad, the comedy is just about average but still funny. I, however, dislike Natsuki's yelling at everything, it kind of over-dramatizes the humor and makes it a little lame.
Coming from a producer that isn't major, I don't think it's that bad. The character design is a lot better than I expected, and the voice acting is great as well.

I thought this was Gasai Yuno

At 11:09 they show a photo of five girls, and I assume these are the five main
voice actresses. I recognize the back-left as the voice actress for Botan ( Sae
Aiuchi / 相内沙英 ). I have never seen any other anime series where the faces
of the voice cast were shown, with the exception of Lucky Star where Minoru
Shiroishi often appeared live during the closing credits. The others I am
guessing:
