| It's personal bias. I prefer the second opening over the first; I wasn't a fan of the first opening. The second one is elegant and much more captivating - I don't care for the visuals on the screen so the lack of anything happening does not matter to me. To each their own, don't be bothered by others who dislike the second opening. =P |

| If I'm trying to be objective, I'd say that it isn't a bad opening, and sums up Kaneki's development pretty well (there was a reddit thread about this). Like the majority, however, I believe there was nothing that could have topped Unravel. :/ |

| It's not terrible by itself, but compared to the first season's, it is. Nothing happens in the whole opening, the song is too cheerful for an anime like Tokyo Ghoul, and also, Kaneki looks like crap in it. Also, Ishida should stop with making everything symbolic, it gets boring. The first opening is one of the best OPs ever. |

| Personally i don't really care about this stuff, if the opening is good it's only a bonus. I care about the anime itself. That being said, the new opening is definitely not good enough, and that's a fact. It's much more suitable to be an ending. Also, the opening of Season 1 set the bar very high, and this doesn't even come close to it. Moreover, openings definitely shouldn't have the same scene in them for the entirety of their duration. They should be more dynamic and overlapping the anime's events and characters, while it's perfectly okay for endings to be static. Lastly, the song is meh at best. TL;DR: √A's opening is not what an opening should be. |
