I'll tell you why, bad planning and pacing. the majority of its fanbase are like babies who like shiny things, in this case the animation which is fantastic. type moon as a whole are completely incompetent when it comes to writing (the visual novels are absolutely atrocious) and this certainly shows. the characters are dull and unengaging with forced interactions that feel awkward and are in general a chore to watch. the series uses too much explanation which makes everything feel boring and dragged out. the fights are painfully bad, asspull after asspull and last for ages. overall, it's a piece of overrated shiny shit There are no asspulls. It's such a great way to kick back and relax, its calming, easy going pace and atmosphere is reminiscent to Aria the Animation although they both strive for different overlying themes. It's much more grounded in reality as well which is what I think gives it an edge in how much one can relate to what's going on. The way they use photography to explore the characters and certain themes/life lessons is inspiring and a one of a kind experience. It's certainly a very nice and relaxing experience, but I think it was too short for its own good. Also, the characters definitely need more consistency, the show is good to watch, easy going, calm with nice atmosphere, but it's lackluster. But I'm speaking about the first Tamayura, I don't know about the sequels, and I hope they improve these aspects. As for more, there might be a possibility for that. This Sunday there's supposed to be a Tamayura event in Japan and they're going to make an announcement. I don't want to get my own hopes up so it's speculation at best right now, but if a S3 comes through for me then I will strip my profile naked and rebuild it in Tamayura's name. |

Underrated: Black Jack 1993 OVA http://myanimelist.net/anime/1520/Black_Jack Really nice episodic drama anime. Please Teacher. Gets to the relationship in the blink of an eye, no beating around the bush for the majority of the anime. IMO one of the best younger guy x older woman romance anime. I guess it does have cliches but that could be said for most romcoms. Ah My Goddess http://myanimelist.net/anime/50/Aa!_Megami-sama!_%28TV%29 Nice fantasy romcom with a nadeshiko as main love interest instead of an annoying tsundere. |

nobunaga con concerto may have been passed up by alot of people because of its sloppy first episode and its pretty painful visuals, but I think its a show alot of people should keep an eye out for as the 2nd episode was pretty damn good and has loads of potential for future episodes especially given that this will be a 2 cour series(though i could had sworn someone said this was a split cour) Its got a pretty good sense of humor and it has a pretty good sense of when to do tonal shifts. |

Although Hanasaku Iroha has some drama, I think is a much more natural kind of show. Somehow that brings me much more joy than usual. |

It's natural for a person to deny he's a failure as a human being. That's why he searches for somebody who is more miserable than himself. That's why so much animosity exists on the internet. Those who aren't able to find a more miserable person, turn to the internet and call other people losers, even though they've never met. Just to make themselves feel superior. isn't that pathetic? Darker Than Black is overrated. I don't know what people see in this series. I mean it has great action scenes and the side story episodes near the beginning were good enough to draw me in, but nothing is properly explained here, making the actual story a mess, and that really says something if your side stories are more entertaining than your actual main story. And yet I still see this being praised everywhere. Oh well, at least Podtaku knows what's wrong with it. |

I kinda understand why I see so many statements about Cowboy Bebop being overrated. First of it: is probably not what most people are looking for in this media. Second: they expect something in the lines of Code Geass, but with Bounty Hunters in Space (a lot of action with tons and tons of twists, something one could make many theories about what will happen in the next episode). Third: it's an episodic show with a definitive theme and pattern, and is the pinnacle of "style over substance". Probably is not what people are expecting to be, and not what they're wanting it to be. In other words, it's overrated because it's too unconventional for its own good, and works with more subtle themes and characters, extremely slow pacing (which is boring for a lot of people) and is episodic. Definitely not for everyone. |

Still doesn't change the fact that I think hxh overrated. Who cares about anime critics? I'm talking about my personal opinion. Isn't Mushishi episodic? It doesn't have a continuation story, so it's find to drop it. Only character you will see in every episode is that boring ass dull main character, sorry I'm not a masochist. :P |

Probably is not what people are expecting to be, and not what they're wanting it to be. In other words, it's overrated because it's too unconventional for its own good, and works with more subtle themes and characters, extremely slow pacing (which is boring for a lot of people) and is episodic. Definitely not for everyone. Fixed! Durr! Stupid logic, I could use your statement for any anime, also I watch cow boy bebob before watching code geass, so that doesn't make sense as well. Excuses everywhere it's overrated get over it. That's your opinion. #Thread. I could use your statement for any anime, is such an easy task to make a masterpiece sounds terrible just by saying "boring", "overrated", "asspull", "forced drama", "average at best" and bla bla bla. I don't even need to watch to argue. Anyway, cry more about Cowboy Bebop being high rated. Damn that cat just prove how you really don't know how to behave and have a civilized conversation haha. It's certainly pathetic and laughable. |

Kolnikov said: I agree with thisI kinda understand why I see so many statements about Cowboy Bebop being overrated. Definitely not for everyone. I think most people go into bebop expecting something different and when they find out it's an episodic show that is style over substance they feel somewhat let down. It really isn't a show for everyone. |

I caught up to Baby Steps, which is awesome and is really underrated. Bad thing: I don't have any more episodes to watch :( Good thing: I can now start Haikyuu! |
