I hope I could have seen much more of One Outs...
But I sure LOVED this last episode! Naturally, we couldn't see the story's real end, but I was sooooo amazed by this episode! Tokuchi always surprise me. Totally great! Man, I loved this anime. A sequel would be AWESOME. I want more Tokuchi Toua!

Good ending leaves things open for a second season if they ever decide to pick up again. Also, closes up the opening matches.

I loved it so much...
one of the greatest unique baseball series ever...

I really LOVED Toua for being so AWESOME. *A*
He just kicked-ass over and OVER! ♥
It was really fun to watch...it made me stand up loooots of time just because I was so happy with his EVULNESS. xD

But I really loved this series so much right now that it was so hard to watch it end just like that... TT_TT
I want a second season...but since it's by Madhouse, the chances of it getting a sequel is slim...VERY. -sigh-
I'll just cry over it -wipes tears- D:

Good ending, but not great. It entertained me a lot, and I just love Tokuchi's badassness. The show was at its peak during the Bugaboos saga. I felt something missed in the BlueMars one, like, it wasn't personal enough between Tokuchi and the team. I hope a second season will come out, the relation between the Lycaos and Tokuchi seemed to start at the end of the anime, which felt kinda empty as a ending.

9/10 , and I demand a 2nd season.

Not the greatest of shows, not the worst of shows. The ending made this series pretty mediocre. Proof yet again that even Madhouse can fuck up. The anime ended up putting Tokuichi in a positive, content light out of nowhere. The whole series he was off-putting and cynical and all of a sudden they pulled this character development out of their ass.

I probably regret this post by now.

I've never thought a sports anime will hook me so much. First i gave it an 8, then a 9, but at the end - 10. The anime has flaws. For instance - disappointing ending. But personally i was satisfied with it, i don't hate it for ending like that. There wasn't much of a character development, although i think in this one it is not necessary, because it revolves around sport. And last - there wasn't a background story of Toua or somebody else. But the excitement while watching it was definitely a '10'. I loved the psychological aspect of it and how the team managed to beat the other teams. It was good ^^ and i want another season.

It was quite a good series, but I definitely expected more from it. It only went downhill after episode 9, and there wasn't even a real climax. While the psychological aspect was great at the start, it became quite weak towards the end... Not to mention that the clause in the contract about not being able to play a game could easily be seen right from when the extra details were added to the contract...

I'm still giving it a decent 7/10 though, for the good characters and because sports is my favourite genre... Also a new PB time for me completing a 25-ish ep series - it only took me 10h 15mins - which proves that I did enjoy the series, even if sports is the easiest genre to marathon.

BADASS.

Ending was mediocre.

9/10

For not having TOO much convoluted "strategies", even though comparing tenths of a second is pretty damn convoluted. And for actually making me watch baseball, when I have never liked the sport before. I thought it was one of the most boring sport ever. Anime has the power to do such a thing. Though I still won't watch real MLB.

I'm likely to never watch these other series Akagi and Kaiji. A lot of people mention it here and compare this with them, but I really only just saw this because the word psychological and baseball sounds like an awful (yet surprisingly awesome) combination together.

Awesome ending. Love how they made a sport game into a "chess" game.

Doubt there will be a sequel, madhouse rarely makes sequels.

I really liked this show. Psychological seinen are awesome.
IMO Kaiji > One outs > Akagi. And all three of them are amazing.

I thought that this series overall was amazing! Every moment of it kept me interesting, even the long explanations didn't really turn me off much.

This has gotten me very interested in reading the manga, too bad it isn't completely translated.

Liked it a lot. Tokuchi is the man!
9/10 for me.

It's true that the anime focus too much on Tokuchi and his strategies/tricks , and it's just that: the games, the opponents, the stupid and dumb owner, and Tokuchi pwning them all :P But it's great at that. Well, I enjoyed every minute ^^

I mean I knew nothing on baseball (yeah I know that's not real baseball xP even though I never ever watched a game of it, only Tokuchi could do those things...because he's Tokuchi, what else?) so I forced myself to learn the basic rules so I could understand things better...that because I love Liar Game, I was 100% sure I would like this too.

I absolutely have to read the manga....but I'll probably wait (if I can...) till its translation's complete.

I was very impressed with the series. I didn't know how to go into the series, didn't know whether I'd like it or not. I didn't have a bias one way or the other towards baseball or sports in general, so I was hoping for something great and I was very pleased with the result.

I'm really hoping for another season, and it already has been almost 4 years, so I guess I'll have to hope upon hope.

I'm giving it a 10/10 because I went through the entire series wanting to watch another episode right after finishing one. That is what I see making a good series really great.

Completely retarded. Amazing concept, and great protagonist, but the rest of the cast members are just so retarded, it's unbearable. Also, the business aspect of the story is a complete disaster. It is a shitty plot device that is poorly explored and only used because the author couldn't think of a better setting to put an amazing protagonist in. In fact, business itself, tries to become an antagonist to the main character, which it obviously fails at.

Overall, I feel like it deserves an 8, but when I think about it, One Outs definitely was not 'very good'. So, I'll give it a 7, because I do admit it was 'good'. As I stated before, the concept and the protagonist did save the show. However, a good concept, as well as a good protagonist (which unfortunately is surrounded by a bunch of losers), alone, cannot save this train wreck.

yea, i was kinda hoping for a character as awesome or atleast as half as awesome as toki in their team, i guess someone with a lot of potential that would get help from toki, but the closest to that was the the guy at the back, and he was ok, but not really awesome.

Oh and the owner is owned again. I really wish Toua exposed the Bluemars, but alas he would never do that.

I want a season 2, but I doubt it happens....though Kaiji got a season 2. I give it a 7/10. Throughly enjoyed the show, but its a bit of an insult to baseball fans and players who are made out to be complete naive idiots.

in the beginning i was really hoping that kojime would play at least an important role in the anime because of that that was said in the early of the first episode, the series is only around tokuchi and the rest are only his toys to him play with, and what a dumb toys, it was awesome in the first play against that top team and after that it kind of lose all that awesomeness, but it was really enjoyable to watch

Great show! If it wasn't for Toua helping out the team, then this show would of been shit.
9/10 Thank you Toua for being badass.
This show is better than death note. Will watch Kaji next.

First arc 5/5 Great begining

second arc 5/5 memorable arc!

third arc 4/5 Quite boring for some episodes.

9/10? Based off of your arc rating/scoring breakdown, which I agree with 100%, you would be scoring it as an 8/10 ^^;

Any who, Tokuchi is awesome and reading the LN is worth it. Since Ideguchi got in on the action in the final episode and the annoying fake build up to a second season(a powerful line from MC, "... no matter what, I must get the Lycaons to win the championship," and energetic shot of the team) had to find out where they ended up. They did a s'well job with the anime and Masato Hagiwara's voice delivers again as an awesome gambler. 8/10

Even some arcs ruined it, I can't score it to 8/10. This show has so many great elements that luckily deserves it to 9/10.
Read the manga if you haven't. It continues from there.

I thought that line kind of made it clear I did read it. I wanted to after watching the anime because of the last episode. The catcher gets in on it and then Tokuchi says "We ain't done yet, party just gettin' started!"

Out of curiosity did you mean to say "Even IF some arcs ruined it, I cannot score it a 8/10?" I am sorry I was just going off your fractions and did the mental math randomly, I meant no harm because Tokuchi really is a badass.

Chapter 83 for anyone else interested in reading the manga

When I saw this anime was rated 8.46/10, I was very excited as I had thought this was going to be amazing.

At the end, I only found it good.

Everything is very one dimensional and cliche, albeit entertaining. Hopefully the manga will spend less time on the actual baseball games, and showing more character in Tokuchi because the anime keeps hinting of his notoriety and more malicious nature but we don't see glimpses into his past or what motivates him.

Although I am surprised, because I learned more about baseball and that you can add digits to see if numbers are divisible by 3!
