| Yeah, I saw the miracle chick use WoG because, well, you know, and it was madness. I wasn't sure if it would be that broken with players as I have yet to see it online, but I hope it's nerfed. Seems even worse than DarkS1. I felt the same thing about you not knowing where to go, there were certain times when I felt I couldn't progress and no clue what to do, but eventually I managed, I looked up whereabouts on a few occasions, but blind for the most part. I fought "him" at double health because I too wasn't sure about that soul, but thanks to the restat and a lot of patience and retries, I eventually managed. Surprisingly enough though, I've been having decent luck with a joke build for armor but with my maxed Dark Greatsword, seems I'm decent at laying my hits on people and crushing them quickly. |

I could really have needed those extra 17 points in Vigor, though. Anyway, it wasn't supposed to be a PvP-centric build anyway, even though I stopped at 125 just so I could have the option of getting invaded. Surprisingly enough, I only got invaded by actual players 3 times in 50 hours. But then again, I was hollow for 95% of the time. I thought it was possible to get invaded while hollow?Yeah, I saw the miracle chick use WoG because, well, you know, and it was madness. Even Dark Souls, who's infamous for leaving out any and all hints on where to go, had WAY more information than this. Still a 9/10 game. Haha yeah this screwed me over a bit, it took me WAY to long to figure how to get to huntsmen's corpse I ignored the faith chick because I'm not using them on my main and figured "meh she's just a vendor", dick move From Actually what do you guys think about adaptability in general? since an actual level in it is required to get good I-frames on roles, it kinda seems to punish low level runs way too much. On another note, loving the halberds, it's my fav weapon type irl but found it dull as all hell in DkS1, currently using the bitching one you get from Killing Talgray, which I think is well worth as not only are the sentinels rather quiet atm, but you can also get his stylish armour Another, 'nother note, the way durability works in this game irks me a bit, in the later levels I'm finding my main weapon breaking/close to breaking by the time I find the boss fog, which I'd be alright with if repair powders weren't so scarce >.> I can only imagine how nasty katanas are in this regard, heard theres a durability ring around though |

I suppose it's running is op as it stands but I hate to use it in PvE(2handed anyway) since it leaves you really open Good to hear about the durability rings, gotta nab me one of those, also, no idea where of what the ring of life protection is :p |

I myself have been using the Fextralife one and it is very poorly maintained atm, so for the most part I have been just using little tidbits of info from there or if need be checking the GameFAQs boards for certain things they haven't posted on there yet other than that mostly blind. Like Haak posted, that OnlyAfro video sums up the imbalance of PvP atm (saw it earlier), and I feel the Ring of Sacrifice's function is also a double edged sword that coincides with the scarce effigies. I myself probably would've gotten to the end of the game around 40-50 hours, but I had been screwing around a lot especially with 'him', but I got around to beating the final boss a little while after. I'm still on standard NG trying to get as much stuff as I can before I move on, probably get a few more sunlight medals and subsequently a few more scrolls to have a good arsenal, and I only need 1 more hex and 2 more sorceries (through NG+), but then a butt load of miracles and pyromancies, which doesn't help with the Bloods and Crips having such high rank requirements to get certain miracles and pyromancies. P.S. Adaptability is a much more fair stat I'd agree with, seeing how it has some favour with Haak after him being rather suspicious about it being too broken earlier on, seeing how the adjustments are a bit minute but others have found gain with it, it's totally fair, just not one I really care about. |

Also, lagstabs is still a thing, so have fun dealing with that when people learn how to properly utilize lag in this game. Yeah, I was worried it was broken. Not because of Agility, but because Resistance, which is also under Adaptability, was super strong in the network test. Daggers couldn't even dent you. And that would limit the weapon choices for PvP drastically and it would become DeS all over again, where everyone uses the same "strong" build(s). Not saying Dark Souls doesn't have that, but there are a few different builds that are equally strong, so at least you get some variation.Adaptability is a much more fair stat I'd agree with, seeing how it has some favour with Haak after him being rather suspicious about it being too broken earlier on, seeing how the adjustments are a bit minute but others have found gain with it, it's totally fair, just not one I really care about. | Has anyone played Resident Evil Revelations? It's a bit difficult to trust the series again, but I've been hearing good stuff, and might buy it for the 3DS (for 15 euro). Also is Ocarina of Time 3D worth it? I've never played OoT properly, and I guess the 3DS version looks in any way better than the N64 version, so not sure why I'm even asking this haha. And I guess it's easier to just buy the 3DS remake than chase N64 cartridges on internet where it sells instantly. I'm also looking at Kid Icarus Uprising. Is that one supposed to be good? |
Mar 25, 2014 1:56 AM
#217
| Kid Icarus Rising has REALLY uncomfortable controls, the game even gives you a stand to hold your 3DS and it's really strange to maneuver. Still pretty fun but the difficulty spikes are a little extreme if I recall. |
Mar 25, 2014 4:01 AM
#218
| The OoT remake is decent if you want to play with the 3D off. Sometimes it's a bit disorienting, and they have a default setting where you have to shift the 3DS itself around to shoot arrows/slingshot/etc, and that's even worse since you have to attempt to stiff neck the entire ordeal in order to keep your gaze straight ahead as to not mess up the 3D, so I ended up turning that feature off too. I would honestly recommend chasing down the gamecube edition and just play it on the wii instead. Also, everything squirrel said about Icarus is correct. |

| Yeah it's still way cheaper buying Ocarina of Time 3D than buying a GameCube/Wii + Ocarina of Time GC edition haha. Unless I just emulated it (if it works). So the only major issue with Ocarina of Time is that aiming part (which is probably used every few minutes)? That control part is the only thing that worried me. I don't mind tough control if it's possible to get used to it and make it comfortable eventually. But if it's going to be uncomfortable even after beating the game, I'll just skip it. Resident Evil Revelation would probably be a better buy in that case. |

| There is also the Wind Waker special edition which comes with OoT + Master Quest, though I guess chances are most would prefer to play Wind Waker Wii U version these days. It's still a good deal, I think. |

| I tried Resident Evil Revelations for the PC. I've only finished Episode 1, but so far it's waaay better than Resi 5 and 6 (like that's difficult). Good thing is that they added both Classic and Shooter controls (aka Stop and Shoot and Walk and Shoot). The game does seem to have potential to be creepy, and setting up a creepy atmosphere might help it more. I think that people who love Resi 4 would enjoy this. The only problem I have so far is that I suck at aiming, because I barely play shooters. When I set the mouse sensitivity on 5, the aim moves too fast. When I set the mouse sensitivity on 4, it moves too slow! |

Revelations is what RE5 and RE6 should had been, they even pull off the mix of action and survival horror better than RE4 did by using multiple protagonists in different settings and periods of time, The way they made it was so jill who is the main crutch of the game is still stuck with low ammo and overwhelming odds at all times but the game gives you can occasional run and gun level with other characters like chris giving you tons of ammo and enemies allowing the game to throw you a shit ton of ammunation without screwing over survival horror sections by leaving you with too much. You get an eerie and classic feeling survival horror with the keyword being SURVIVAL and keeps that the whole game. thank christ the team that made revelations is making RE7 |

| There are definitely missed opportunities character wise(no god damned dio being a major irritation) but all the guys that are in are real fun, it's cool to play aizen who actually kicks ass rather than babbles about illusions. I haven't got all the characters and haven't gone online so I'm not too sure, but I know vegeta's big bang is too stronk. Also Luffy just seems all around stronk, he can do a tone of damage in gear second and haki modes with good range and speed, but hey it's not a competitive fighter ;) The game's music is also awesome |

| Luckily EA doesn't release many games I could care for but if more companies follow, then I'll just stop caring for video games sooner or later. I live in a village and my internet sucks. Having to buy more space isn't cheap also. And part of why I prefer physical copies is because I like to own that stuff for real and maybe some collection purposes. Full digital is a expected full greed move from EA, of course they'll use the "but it's cheaper" argument to back it up. It's cheaper for them too and they can do all sorts of BS with it to screw and control the consumers. |

I suppose I just didn't want it to be over. I ended up really liking the ending. Am I the only one who did? I mean, luckily I got to play with Citadel and the Extended Cut DLC, so really, I got the best possible experience. I chose the synthesis ending, and I found it all very interesting.
