Happy to see Teekyuu3 keeping the 2K+ sales level. Bonus episode 2 added an on-screen written season 4 hint in addition to the hint in dialogue in episode 12's final line. Glad No-rin ED is selling well. It is fun that they included clean and concert versions of cordless telephone and duet and solo versions of fruit girls. I wish fhana divine intervention Witch Craft Works OP had sold better. Perhaps they sell more on iTunes? |

Its still early, unless Chuu2 S2 has a huge sequel drop, it'll hit 10k. Its looking like a rather bad season, but its still really early. Nobunaga the fool hasen't even been week for 1 week yet. Sakura trick for only 9~ days. etc.. It however seems possible to be a season that does not have any v1's of non-sequels hit 10k. Even last autumn had 2(maybe 3) of those. |

Given that the sales of Teekyuu have essentially held steady for 3 seasons and there are only 21 minutes of actual new content per season, I don't see why we wouldn't get season 4. Still lots of manga to cover as season 3 went up to chapter 36 and there are already about 60 chapters or 5 seasons of anime worth of manga written. There are events on February 9th and 11th and I would not be surprised to get a proper season 4 announcement then. http://te-kyu.com/news/ |

I am so Happy for Arpeggio to be doing so well and yet i am completly suprised that only that,, infinite stratos 2 and non non biyori would be above the 10k line. I tought others such as kill La Kill would be that high too altoguh it is close. Unbreakable Machine doll well it's not that bad so i a m happy for it. Walkure Romanze yeah i was expecting that low of sales that series just seemed to have lost focus on what it was aiming for. Noucome a bit a of a shame it was quite a good comedy and it deserved more. Really only at 4.2k estimate for Log Horizon i would have tought it would be higher well at that number is still good enough especially considering this show was made by NHK and is goverment sponsored so in its case the sales area a bonus. |

Well, I projected it would sell less than 5k before the season (Jmal can confirm this) because I felt that the backlash from Free would impact the otaku oriented series from KyoAni. There have been lots of people on 2ch and other Japanese sites saying they wouldn't support KyoAni anymore. |

But we'll see in a few weeks, while I do have a few doubts about it reaching 10k, butI'm at-least confident it will reach 6k. I don't think Free! affected anything, I don't think many people are crazy enough to stop buying things they like just because the studio made something they don't like. |

I posted this somewhere else, so I might as well post it here. Its for those wondering how well Gatchaman crowds sold. I must note that it did already get a 2nd season, and that it had good ratings on TV. So sales are not really a big factor for this series. Nourin(used at random to represent your typical 6 BD/1 cour series) - 6 * 5508 yen - 33048 yen Gatchaman crowds - 14607 yen. So less than 1/2th of the normal price. Or 56% less than normal, to be exact. So it made as much revenue(from BD's/DVD's) as a normal 1-cour series that sold around 2.8-2.9k~ BD's/DVD's. |

I hope it's because we're going to get a 10K v2wk1 for NNB ...I was just looking at points for some of the stuff releasing this week and while I wasn't looking. Little Busters! Refrain actually ended up with more Stalker points in the end than s1v1 had, if only slightly. It was really underperforming season one earlier in the solicitation period and I then stopped watching it. But now it's looking in a much better position. If it's as underestimated as season one was (43.0% BD and 29.1% DVD) then there's really no reason to expect Refrain to drop at all. Predicting underestimation is hard but it's been very strong at Gamers and Softmap like season one was. Maybe it'll get around 10k again after all. |

It's amusing yet depressing how as soon as this studio comes into the picture, wacked-out conspiracy theories are accepted as normal whereas in any other situation nobody would claim such a thing. Like, we don't need to seek out weird meta reasons for why Milky Holmes or Nyaruko or Ikamusume or Hayate no Gotoku or Infinite Stratos or Magi all took steep dives, we just sensibly accept that it happens sometimes, because fans move on or a show loses its charm or people just don't like it as much. The difference is that KyoAni is a brand, similar to Nintendo. They're not just some anime studio that production committees contract out to do their work like a lot of other studios. People feel loyalty to a brand more. You've seen same kinda thing happening in the video game industry, with Nintendo paying for their mistake by appealing to different audiences and now many of their long time fans have abandoned them. |
