| no way, I didn't see VVV-tan in the poll when I voted! I would have voted for her before episode 6, but now I gave my vote to Saki >:D I actually didn't really care about Saki before (other than her 1-liners). The end of episode 5 made me want to smack her for the kiss (because I thought she was going to make this into some love-triangle shit); however, I was pleasantly surprised when she that didn't turn out to be the case :) So imho, best girl goes to Saki; best guy goes to Eru-Erufufufu. Reason being because they're not completely autistic |

| Definitely Saki! She might be a bit of an attention whore, but she's proactive and not afraid to help Haruto fight. Plus, with the timeskip, we know she survives for at least 200 years... and been fighting for probably the entire time. She's one of the most badass heroines, EVER! |

| @j0x: Valvrave is at least as popular as Attack on Titan (in Japan; in terms of 2ch threads/post count) so I'm not surprised. Saki is a refreshing character: she's not a Mary Sue, but she isn't a bland moeblob either. She has her own endearing traits but has deep seated faults to counterbalance. She's a breath of fresh air in a role dominated by trite & clichéd "heroines" who are usually one-dimensional. She's an "attention whore" who manages to turn that negative into a virtue - something that reinforces her character while building her back-story and motivation for fighting. Let's not forget the biggest thing of them all: She's been fighting for over 200 years based upon a promise she made with picture-in-the-locket! If that doesn't scream "hero" I don't know what does! Clearly Saki has changed a lot post-timeskip but we know that it was a 'good' change; she became a model heroine. Plus, Saki still manages to be normal despite everything else... so far:  [end@] Really, Saki Rukino is my favorite heroine in a long time (and I'm a big fan of her VA). Saki is willing to put her foot down and fight and has actual character development! That alone makes her a great character and we are only 7 episodes into a 2 cour long series! Plus the timeskip just gave her MEGA-AWESOME plot armor. This last episode had tons of foreshadowing; Megane-chan's last words to Haruto are a HUGE flag that is going to matter later on, probably in the 2nd cour. In the past few episodes (Episode 5 was the worst episode - for me - except for the last ~90-120 seconds) this anime has really flew up in terms of quality: IMO it shot up way past Suisui no Gargantia, Attack on Titan, and HenNeko (What can I say? I <3 Azuki Azusa). I really hope that Aniplex can maintain the great quality and writing - though I hope they don't drop the ball - or pick up the idiot ball... Only time will tell if Valvrave can maintain this momentum. If they keep it up this show could easily surpass CG despite only having 1/2 the eps. Only time will tell, however... On another subject, Valvrave has been hugely popular on 4chan in the past couple of weeks as well. Saki lovers vs Saki haters has been an ongoing war that has no end in sight. | I wish I could vote for both Saki and Akira, but *sigh* democracy only allows me to vote for one. I chose Saki. She's just the perfect amount of crazy to me for some reason. Really though, I really like this female cast for some reason. |

Anyways, Saki is the best looker at least. Actually I think it's just that characters like Saki are kind of in right now. People love the whole Tall Dark and Bishoujo action girl with a pro-active attitude, but she's also kind of a double whammy cause she combines that with the whole idol thing which is also pretty popular. It's kind of a trope that could only really exist in anime. Saki more than any other character in the show I think was basically designed to be popular and steal the spotlight (as referenced in show multiple times by herself), but I still find her the most interesting for her development so far. Also if you're talking about Aina she's kind of dead which limits her ability to get votes further down the line anyway. I can't assume you mean Shoko cause she's pretty action girl herself even if she doesn't directly participate in the combat or kick people in the stomach. |
