After episode 19, I felt that Haruyuki had dropped too low and was beyond pathetic. I dropped my score to a 5/10.

Finished the rest in one sitting and thought about it for a while.

- Haruyuki really grew as a character.
- Secondary characters were written fairly well.
- Relationships were slightly established, with broken bits and pieces inbetween
- Main plotline was subverted but a good background to abilities and what accel world is were strengthened.
- A good villain that invoked good, negative responses from the audience. It worked out well. The end Noumi received was not unlike what the show presented. It was satisfying, and previous clues/hints were presented earlier.

That's the main things that allowed me to change this to a 7/10.

(I can't believe this was written by the same guy who wrote Sword Art Online. I guess he gained some writing prowess in the span of ±7 years)

NO! Accel World was great, aside from their attempted romance of Haru & Himi. I liked their fights, and emotional scenes which I could always relate to in someway. I just wished they had the Haru & Himi end on a better note than, well... a seemingly proposal. The ending kind of gives the idea of a 2nd season, WHICH I'M ALL FOR! They kept fan-service under control, which I liked, it wasn't hyper, nor low. I kind of want to see a passionate kiss between Haru and Himi, but I guess I can hope for more romance in season 2? Well, Accel World's last fight was good, but sadly only like 15 mins, less action, more scene to scene, though it was great, but short-lived. I want a pic of Haru gaining his wings back. Chiyu's plan kind of was already guessed. We knew just what her power actually did. Now, I forgive Chiyu, but I still think she is quite the B*TCH for going that far. I still feel anger towards her, but I think it will cave-in on itself soon enough.

The whole 2nd half of the show was terrible but at least this last episode was pretty damn good. Enough for me to reconsider giving it a really low score. I'd like to see a season 2 with hopefully more important story arcs.

Such potential... but the result was lackluster.

5/10.

I would have to agree.
The first quarter to third of the show ending at the Scarlet King was pretty entertaining.
Kuroyukihime kicked ass and Niko's sudden emotional changes were fun to watch. They made up for wimpy Porky and lack of confidence Taku. Fight sequences were dragged on, but still fairly well done, especially Kuroyukihime's segments.

Then Kuroyukihime basically had no screen time and when she did, she was relegated to fanservice or things completely not related to the plot. Niko went absent except for that one episode and disappeared afterwards. I can maybe understand Niko not playing a role in future arcs, but why Kuroyukihime, who is supposedly THE female lead of the show?

Then we got Noumi... A villain that is so simple, lacks personality and has no good motive for the last half of the show. He's basically just evil for the sake of being evil. The recovery time for Porky to recover his ability to fly dragged on so long and the fights during these segments were so uninspiring and frankly sleep-inducing. Add to the fact that Chiyu was simply retarded for the entirely of the show and the fact that she sucked up so much screentime constantly being wet for Porky in the last half didn't help at all...

Don't even get me started on those side characters that appeared for an episode and then were quickly forgotten...

And what still doesn't sit right with me is that there is NO consequences for losing in the game other than losing the memory and ability to access the Accel World. All the characters act as if their lives depend on this game and it makes no sense...

Finally, add insult to injury, we never got to see progress made on Kuroyukihime's initial goal: reaching level 10 and meeting the makers. Perhaps, this is saved for a second season, but her drive towards that goal was what helped hold everything together. I also find it so ironic that Porky learned to use that "insert name of that power" to fly again and Chiyu just reversed time to give him back his wings... Did we really just watch the second half for nothing?

Just bring back Kuroyukihime, Red King and an antagonist that actually has a backstory and motive and maybe then I would consider watching the second season.

If I'd be generous I'd give it a 4/10. But I don't feel that generous. This whole show was a waste of my time. The only noteworthy thing was the animation, which was quite nice. Aside from that, I hope I never get to see this shit again.

The story was full of clichés and it was beyond retarded, every single episode made me cringe. I regret that I didn't drop it after episode 1 - which I wanted. I couldn't even name one single character that I actually liked besides Ash Roller.

I actually enjoyed the filler on Okinawa island. But that's not enough to save the whole show from its demise.

It's not insult nor injury, it's just that this is an adaptation, and currently we are at the 4th volume. OF course speaking of adaptations it's crazy for a shounen genre novel to actually reach it's goal in just 4 volumes, of course they will touch the matter again but that's saved for the future.

Currently AW has 12 volumes, and most of it are used to get the old Nega Nebulus members back while slowly addressing to current plots like the Chrome Disaster, The Kings and the Acceleration club (or wtf was their name).

Honestly the 11th or 12th volume was pretty interesting because of one new character.

Side Story yes, but a filler it is not. It's from volume 10 which is a volume dedicated to side stories. Remember when you met "Aqua Current" that's also a side story.

This was a very good episode. I would have liked to see a kiss between the main couple, but the way his requested reward freaked her out was almost as good.

Overall, the show was uneven, annoying in spots, and had plot holes you could drive a cyan pyle through, but it also was inventive, thought provoking, and a fun ride overall. They left plenty of room for another season, especially since they haven't actually dealt with the evil armor stuff that attached itself to Haru.

So Noumi the-villain-I-love-to-hate doesn't remember a thing about AW and he's still OK? He got a new personality fer cryin' out loud! That's probably a good thing for him in the end but good Lord, Brain Burst is a scary application indeed. Seeing him looking so goddamn innocent now almost makes me forgive and forget how cruel and manipulative he was. X_X

Loved the last song too before the ED when Arita was monologuing ( I had this weakness to ominous Latin chanting songs. LOL) so I went looking for it. It was "Golden Glory", track 23 of Accel World Original Soundtrack feat. Ooshima Hiroyuki, which was released last July 25.

A very good finish especially with the song mentioned above. 8/10

Rather than new, it's his "old" personality before he got traumatized and bullied by his brother and then corrupted by BB.

I agree, that the anime had tons of cliches.

But yeah Ash Roller was my favorite character as well, And Crimson Kingbolt (Screw Guy) in Okinawa scene was my 2nd favorite, then Sky Raker was 3rd (though I think she's just like the rest of Nice girl personalities in every anime)

I hope they'll get that Black Vise guy eventually next time.

It drives me nuts about what happened in this episode where he got away so easily & never know when he'll strike again next. #Sarcasm

Also I can't believe that we'll never gonna see the other legion avatar (Yellow Radio) once again. Since they're already retreated & END OF STORY so easily. This is unfair & Ridiculous how it just always like that in most of animes not just Bullying part & Nomi Seiji's arc which makes me wanna 'kill myself' & I was like 'DAMN HIM!! GET HIM OUT OF HERE!!'

The protracted conflict with Seiji is finally over. Seeing Dusk Taker crawling and creeping away before being cut down was a truly pathetic, and satisfying spectacle. He got what's coming to him, though others might say he got off easy after getting his memory wiped.

That was a pretty dangerous gamble by Chiyu, but at least I'm glad she didn't betray them again this time. Her actions finally made sense, good to know she was fighting back in her own way.

Of course Haru and Hime shouldn't forget each other if ever they lost Brain Burst. I mean, they know each other in real life! I doubt the uninstallation of Brain Burst would also remove memories unrelated to Accel World.

Kuroyukihime and Fuuko making amends was a nice scene. I guess that means the reformed Nega Nebulous now has at least 5 members in any future sequel. Time to find the remaining members, if ever.

As for Kuroyukihime, they never revealed her full given name! All we know is that as sacchan, it starts with さ. On another note, her seiyuu's given name is Sachika. Could it be...? Nah, couldn't be...

I saw at least two characters I didn't recognize in the ending. And they haven't even reached their ultimate objective yet, so the story is far from over. Clear signs that there is hope for a sequel.

overall it was a good series although I didn't liked the Noumi arc at all . bully does piss me off.

The idea had some promise and the show wasn't terrible but it really seemed to lose all it's initial hype as it went along. A lame protagonist and a ridiculous last villain certainly didn't help the situation.

God, I hate bullying as a part of anime cliche. it makes me wanna revenge. Because revenge solves everything & I'll be happy If I should've done so in a first place. I mean I'm seriously cannot believe that I've been experiencing this anime like this where fat protagonist against lousy fearsome son-of-a-bitch antagonist which it makes me like 'I AM NOT GONNA REST TILL I'M GONNA FIND OUT HOW IT'S DONE!!'.

Oh yeah anyway, why can't Rinne No langrange (Both Seasons, has anyone seen it?) should've done this trend like this even though there a character that we love to hate but sadly the show was ended.

Too much left undone, although the arcs were closed off properly, stuff with the "organization", the REAL reasoning behind kuroyuki's motives, and a bunch of other stuff.

I think she's going to use tonkatsu to "harvest" enough points and level up to 9 and then use his weakness (which is her) against him.

All the rage inducing Chiyu stuff didn't feel justified even if it was for some plan. Maybe because it was a double whammy of her betrayal and what seems to be some "good times" in the back room AND a taunting asshole, who's just begging to get stabbed in the face. Besides, the reasoning felt last second, like the writers were supposed to make an elaborate sidestory about her falling to the "dark side" but realized they were out of time and just gave up.
The chip in my mind, it summons me.

I admit this is a great series compare to many. But why must our main character be a crybaby all the time. He's the only odd character design in the series, no one else is that small or fat no wonder he's gonna get bullied! Meanie creator. I like his battle avatar though.

I would've been a nice romance if Haru and Hime acts more like a couple than teacher/student relationship. It bothers me that there's only ONE kiss, and it was with his piggy avatar lol. He never even confess or tell her to be his girlfriend. Haru's the luckiest to get Hime though. I sense more yuri than normal boy/girl. Ugh!

Nothing about Chiyu and Taku either when I was expecting a bit more.
Chiyu seems to love Haru more than Taku even though she hinted that Taku would be her future husband. Oh well.

I would love a season 2 to see the other members and Kings.

You feel that the relationships don't have as much progression as you'd like because the anime only covered up to book 4 of the novel, and they stayed pretty faithful with the novel's storyline. The novel itself is on book 12 now. So there's plenty of progression to happen. This is actually a good thing so things can remain consistent when newer seasons come out, unlike some anime that took a lot more liberties to change the story and become inconsistent with the source material.

This was a pretty nice ending and I liked it, sure did make up for some of the awful episodes before this. Glad to see Noumi got his ass kicked and see that Chiyu actually had a plan after all. It was especially fun to watch Noumi beg for mercy and suffer like that towards the end of the fight hahaha. He deserved that completely.

I loved that Kuroyuki and Haru scene too as well as the reunion between Raker and Kuroyuki, aww they're finally back together. It was a pretty good way to end it I'd say. I sure hope that there's a season 2 so they can show off the other kings and arcs.

I was just wondering if anyone else saw the obvious mathematical flaw in accel-world. Each person in brought into the game with 100 BP right..? But since you only have one license to distribute the game then you can only create one more character it would create a linear, never branching, path back to the originals. Also everytime you use a skill or level up you use up BP effectively removing them from the system creating a negative on the number of burst points. So basically in summary you must take all the BP from a person before they can level up once (creating a 200 BP deficit since they add 100 but spend 300 on climbing to level 2) but since it would be so early they are hugely unlikely to have used their license on somebody effectively cutting off that branch in its tracks all the way back to the original. If that happened then any person who even activated burst link would be, in essence, stealing from the total points because their branch can no longer produce any… I like the show but since i worked that out its been bugging me so if anybody can tell me something I’ve accidentally missed that makes it all viable then please comment on the post…

I didn't understand your logic completely...
If I did understand, and what you told was: too many points are getting out of the game to level up so much, then you are wrong.

Don't forget there are mobs, which award points... And like in every MMO, I am sure there are monster grinders.. I bet quite a few reached level 8 by simply grinding monsters, maybe even one of the kings didn't ever fight more than a few matches against other players..

Now about the series:
I totally loved them, 10/10, on par with my other 3 favourites: Great teacher Onizuka, Code Geass, Death Note.

Completely in love with kuroyukihime... Like my favourite anime girl now... on par with male Onizuka probably... Just that awesome.

And well, the only thing that keeps me wondering... Now there are two potentional level 9's incoming in Yuki's team.. Silver Crow and Sky Raker..
You need 5 king(level 9) kills for level 10... Probably the story will tell about the white color king(since Hime has something against him)..

So red king = 4 kills left, if we count theory of killing white king = 3 kills left, now there will be some way to betray niko(new red king) = 2 kills left... and 2 remaining kills are pretty simple - sky raker trusts yuki too much, same goes for silver crow... just kill them and you are lvl 10.
I am pretty sure we will see kuroyukihime's 'black side', I see her becoming main antagonist by season 4 or so...

THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

I can't believe this anime makes me wanna kill myself by the end of pain watching it which it's all about bullies & make Haruyuki life a living NIGHTMARE I mean it's like it follows me like a 'lost puppy' & it just can't let go in my head.

FUCK YOU NOUMI SEIJI. AND FUCK YOU LITTLE BRAT.

What about defeating Sulfur Pot?! Rust Jigsaw & Black Vise?! NOBODY answer about this (Since I checked my post & NO one replies whatsoever till they thought it was hilarious & make zero sense whatsoever)?!
