hmm I'll read the other out of curiosity. I've been out of work for a little while, but I keep myself pretty busy, so I'm not watching that much more anime than I did during quieter semesters in college. MAL clubs and forums are pretty dead now, btw, I've moved on to Discord where I have a server I run :D

I just love KotoUmi.

Oh yeah, speaking of what fantasy can be, you should give Gate a try when you get the time. It's actually darn good (the novel and manga adaptation are better in many ways, but I'll still say watch the anime first).

There's a lot more that fantasy can be than an RPG world, though… Still, DanMachi is good for a harem (MAL doesn't call it one, but just ask Hestia), it really knows how to make you grow fond of the characters. I'm really liking Loki, Aiz, and the rest.

Oh, and I'd say there's a lot more as well to the breaking down of gender roles in Nozaki-kun, I think you'll see in the later episodes.

I don't get why everyone loves Chiya. I thought she was a relatable straight-man and cute at times, but kinda boring, like the female version of most male romcom/harem leads. And there's such a colorful cast with Nozaki himself, Miko-riiin, and the two couples.

But I think a series being 'gay' is a good thing; I suppose I would, being bi myself. And one of the things that makes Nozaki-kun so special to me is how it takes apart gender roles—in a very smart way and to a surprising degree considering it's a shounen manga.

DanMachi is better than I thought it'd be so far, and its characters are more likeable than I expected, but the fantasy world with game mechanics still doesn't appeal to me. I'm really watching it for some of the supporting cast, especially Yurika Kubo as Loki.

How are you liking Nozaki-kun? It looks like you're getting through it pretty fast, so I assume you find it good ^_~ I did the same thing, and I loved it, for the relationships and the stories about making manga, not just as a comedy.

That's understandable. I guess I change my scores quite a lot. Part of me kinda wishes I didn't do that cause it would be interesting seeing what I rated things a year ago.

I found your Anohana review interesting. I like Anohana, so obviously I have a completely different view on it, but I'm curious on how you could give Clannad a 9 and Anohana a 4 when they (In my opinion) have similar flaws.

I don't know about the individual routes, but I know the total line count for the original LB is 74124, and Majikoi is 85637. Seems to be just a bit longer. LB most likely has a longer common route though.

Miyako's route is in the first game, and that just recently got a completed translation patch. Another team was working on the sequel along with the first, but now the team for the first has joined up with them. So far, there's 3 routes TL'd in the sequel.

I'm doing pretty decently, actually. Life drama's staying low, coming across some fun stuff lately, and I'm probably gonna get another job soon.

Ah, Mayu's a good character, she just weirds me out a little. I usually like oddball heroines like her, but I can't keep up with her in particular, lol. You know, I knew another guy that liked Mayu over Wanko at first, but ended up liking Wanko more after reading her route. She's almost always best girl for most people. :P I'm not sure how she is in the anime, but I thought she a pretty interesting character. I mean, between her erratic behaviors, her power lust, and and unpredictability, there was never a dull moment around her. Not sure what the case is for you, but I guess she can be a little overwhelming. I like Kokoro, she has some really cute moments in Mayu's route. :D I plan on getting to her route first once I start the sequel.

Yeah, I can't imagine how the producers would be able to adapt even a fragment of the story in just 12 episodes. It's a real shame too, the Agave route is very well-written. It's consistently engaging and worked in some surprising and emotional character development. And not just the characters either, there were some scenarios I never would have seen coming. :O

It is a pretty long work, but it's consistently enjoyable throughout all the main routes and even the common route isn't as hard to read as other VNs. Up to you, but I think you'd be missing out if you decided to pass on this.
