THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So it's finally here! PENGUIN DRUM! YEAH! Wild! Totally insane in the following, Naturally everyone has a heart and emotions. So this is why everyone has it. The ending was just crazy of this episode and so was this series. It was totally insane. What I find the most insane and I TT_TT so much! Nothing can describe the following, RINGO! SHOUMA! Unbelievable the pain of seeing him disappear just like that. One of the poignant things is Himari being seen far many more times naked with a full frontal one in the spoiler (NSFW) About the box, the fact of this part is that Shouma/Kanba’s faces along with their bodies in the spoiler About Fate Train part 1, at first I really though that Kanba surrounded by his men here looked cool and even more so in the spoiler Himari’s sleeping face here and Kanba looked more badass with his face here. Found it hilarious while baffling of the penguins in the spoiler About Fate train part 2, as soon as Ringo appeared in the spoiler About Survival Strategy, I was actually more surprised of Himari not having those eyes of a different colour. That was quite refreshing as her eyes are of a different colour when she does that. While I did find the hat going down nice with the sparkles and twirls, I was totally confused on how Himari did not really go well here. Hard somewhat for me to spot her position like that. However she was hot along with Kanba in the spoiler About the payments starting, well certainly the one of Kanba in the spoiler About the payments starting part 2, as soon as Ringo here was shown here I knew that the Fate transfer started. I knew somehow she knew the spell deep down. A rather interesting depiction here of the lives and “Scorpion fire” whom IMO is where the bombs are placed. While Kanba holding Himari like a prince here pays dearly in the spoiler About Sanetoshi/Momoka meeting, starts out nicely with a spotlight setup on opposite rails. Notice right away super Frog red book behind Sanetoshi here and you find out something interesting That the Frog indeed paid for its sin since it’s red and not green anymore. While Momoka in the spoiler About thee end, let’s separate it simply style into three parts that tell a lot. Yuri/Tabuki, both were nice in the spoiler Mario/Natsume: while Mario in the spoiler Himari/Ringo: very interesting setup to end this anime. Seems like a total World Line change and major at that. According to the spoiler Conclusion, I don’t know too much of what to make in the spoiler In thee end solid 9/10 for me. BTW End art in the spoiler Image Stitches done in the spoiler |

Crying bitch tears. Anime of the year. Of all years. It was an amazing ride, and an amazing end. I have no words. It's bittersweet, it's bittersweet as hell, especially when we saw a picture of Himari and... was it Ringo's parents? instead of all the Takakuras, and the scene where Himari cries at that poorly sewed teddy bear... but this ending is simply beautiful. I thought that Kamba will die for love since he got the apple in the box, but god, he shared it ;_; and they both died for love... But then again it turns out they're probably real twins in the fate they changed the previous one to. It's actually kind of sweet. I can hear shipperfags crying, but, as I am a shipfag myself, I was actually pretty much happy with what we got. And Tabuki/Yuri scene. Though I'm still not sure what is exactly the way they love each other. Who cares. At least they got a happy end. To think the end was implied on the very start, in a small talk of kids (who turn out to be main heroes in the end)... Well, we all thought it'll be significant, but... No one knew WHO is going to die for love. I think I'll write more when I'll watch the episode subbed. Or at least a raw which isn't lagging like the Keyhole. 10/10 for this series either way |

Kamba and Shouma exchange the promise? Kamba finding the apple and he shared with Shouma. Ringo also came to the train. W H uses Himari's important phrase for the song, and the spell is "Let's eat the destined fruits"? Kamba's blood becoming apple is... So the apple is the penguindrum? Kamba shattering after finding his "light". And Shouma is sharing the pain with burning Ringo. + confession. Ringo's sister took both hats away!! And the black bears became white. The history is changed, so Kamba and Shouma are not related to the girls. |

Gosh, crying with mad tears despite being at work, despite the lagging keyhole.. back in September I wrote: soulelle said: Surprisingly enough the anime is 24-episode long, while the Marinouchi line of Tokyo Metro (the Red line) has 25 stations. This way the show's going to end one stop before the End of Red Line, before the Destination of Fate. So I guess the Super Penguins (together with Takakura siblings naturally) will save Tokyo and the rest of the world from the crash... But, God, if I'm really correct with this theory, then it's going to be the anime of the year! not like I was 100% right... but the truth is - the show turned out to be way more than just anime of the year. 11/10 and I agree with Qashqai, being a shipper myself, I'm still very happy with this ending. And that split, shared apple - this was truly awesome! Can't wait for subs... will definitely watch and rewatch the episode many many more times. And will definitely post here. Afterall, this was the only show that made me want to think and write here reaaaally badly. |

Spoilers ahead. I'm so happy with the ending. This is the best anime I've seen in 10 years (10 years ago, I saw Utena for the first time. It was an instant favorite of mine and hasn't lost it's spot. But Penguindrum just joined it.) The ending was perfect. I was worried sick for Kanba, but he got a good end after all. He accomplished his one goal - saving Himari. Also a Kanba/Himari shipper from day one, I was quite pleased. He got a kiss and an apple from Himari (she chose him when they were kids, and he shared it with Shouma) and I feel that she knows how much he loves her. And in the end, Himari had a small scar on her forehead from one of Kanba's shards. Something between just the two of them. I was never crazy about Shouma/Ringo but I absolutely loved their scene together too. I would have liked for them all to stay together, but this was so beautiful. Shouma and Kanba were together and the penguins were together at least, and Himari had loving parents, a great friend and no sickness. I hope that one day in the afterlife the three of them are reunited. It's too sad to think about them permanently separated. 10/10 |

I have to say this has been quite the wild ride. I definitely have mixed emotions about the end. I am a fan of happy endings, I tend to preference them. I didn't start this series expecting something so bittersweet. I am happy it worked out in its own way and I love the deeper meaning throughout the entire series. The music was great, the visuals were some of the best I had seen this year. I am rating the series an 8, it was a 9 for me but I just can't. |

WOW I didn't expect it to end like this. Last episode I thought the best solution would be to let Himari finally sleep in since she already accepted her fate. The boys. They died for love. A promise made when sharing the apple of fate ;__; I'm satisfied with how it turned out, it's bittersweet. At least Shouma and Kanba are together, and the penguins too. |

I have to resist the urge to cry. The end was bittersweet, however I still think it was beautiful at the same time. I'm not able to describe which impressions the final episode left as well as the fact that my beloved series ended. I love Ikuhara for Mawaru Penguindrum, its just awesome how he managed to play with my feelings and my emotions in order to create such a beautiful show. As a shipfag, as a very hopeless dump shipfag, I was quiet satisfied with this. |

I confess i was expecting something different...i dunno if im disappointed or not... but, it was a beautiful way to end it. A bit sailormoon-ish but way more sad here because we´ll never know if they will ever meet again...and even if they do, Ringo/Himari will be pedophiles because kiddie Kanba and Shou are like...6 years old now X( So the penguindrum was Kanba´s other half : Shouma. It was the apple they shared in the verge of death. And damn i always knew it was Shouma who had the penguindrum! ever since the first moment the princess made the survival strategy always with Kanba, and never touched Shou. Ok, so we didnt get many things explained, but i guess that was the point. Himari became Ringo´s half sister, right? (remember when Ringo emailed her dad saying she wanted to visit him and his new daughter, i think that picture is Ringo´s dad with his new wife). Are they friends, or half siblings? Shouma and Kanba forever together XD i would seriously cry if they were reborn and got separated, but it seems they´re fated to be together;) They were A D O R A B L E as little kiddies and the ALL the penguins following them. It seems Nº3 and Esmeralda went to live with them;) i wanted to hug them all! Im so glad they were reborn ^.^ and they were the kids from the ep.1. Great scene with Himari x Kanba almost kiss (again) and Shouma confessing to Ringo.Best love polygon ive ever seen, where i ship all of them and Yuri x Tabuki was so cute~~~ Momoka x Sanetoshi short goodbye was also epic. i must confess i felt on the verge of tears on the Masako/Mario scene. Like she woke up from a long dream. and then the same when Himari was crying without knowing why ;___; 10/10 and shall never leave my FAVS!;D and let me say im truly sad and depressed right now, because this masterpiece ended. Im so gonna miss this! |

I STILL DON'T GET A LOT OF THINGS! but this episode was again beautiful. The best scene for me is of course, the scene where Shouma was hugging Ringo and said I love you and disappears T-T I didn't cry watching this... but I was a little little but teary ok, I wanted Ringo to live but I didn't want Shouma and Kanba to "disappear"! I don't really like the ending, but I love this series. And I love the picture at the end of the episode! *edit: It hurts me rewatching this... I don't want them to be separated! |

Extremely sad yet beautiful ending. Edit: One thing I didn't understand (maybe because I don't really understand Japanese yet and I watched raw) was if Himari and Ringo remembered Shouma and Kanba at the end of the series or if the world changed just as it did when Momoka used her magic to get rid of Yuri's father and wounds. Himari found the stuffed bear and cried so I know she knew of what happened for her but did she know before that? |

AHH!! That was just soooo awesome!! I never expected this anime to end like this? Why do Kanba and Sho have to disappear?? (but I have to say this ending is perfect) Love the ShoXRingo moment. Awesome confession! The penguins are still cute as ever~ The scene with them walking with kiddie Kanba and Shoma is soo kawaii!! This anime has allowed me to see the true awesomeness of apples. It is fate that penguindrum has become my favorite anime of the year. 10/10 |

I liked how the conversation at the end between the two brothers is the same as the young boys in Ep.1 - with their fates/timelines/universe/whatever changed and they were 'switched out' for Kanba and Shouma. That brief conversation between those two boys in Ep. 1 gives more insight about what happened. I'm a fan of all-around happy endings but I was okay with this one - for the most part. 9/10 |

Wow just wow amazing ending for a very good anime. The last episode just was amazing, many things finally makes fucking sense,i liked that the brothers at the end die,sad but it was the best ending. They using the Penguindrum to save Himari and Ringo, even that i mean they disappearing...they just accept their fate at the end : / ShoumaxRingo scene was cute at the end saying the 3 magic words :( Even after all that it was still a kinda happy ending, the piece of paper in the bear to say goodbye to Himari, seeing Shouma and Kanba being reborn, even that they are not together physically they will be together in their hearths T_T Now the whole anime was very good,it had a very good story until the end, good comedy, good characters, amazing OST and whats even better a good fucking ending, without a doubt 9/10 and with high chances of rewatch it when BDs come out! Btw i am going to miss that Penguins....they were sooooooo funny! |

Haters gonna hate and hypers gonna hype The end didn't satisfy me. I get why Himari needed the apple, since she was abandoned. But Shouma had parents. And teh Takakuras didn't seem the type to abandon him. Kanba had his dad too. And what about Mario? What the hell was he doing in the anime? And Momoka? Sanetoshi was a terrorist and his ghost was his curse. They didn't explain what was special about Momoka. Too many unaswered questions. So, for the Madokafags any anime that ends with a world reset is a copy huh? I wonder what those guys have to say about Lain... randomperson2229 said: I dunno guys. It was one of the good points. He told a very common story in a very creative way, with all the flashbacks and symbols. Though I did find the symbolism in this last ep a bit excessive. Nice to see Kanba being cut by the broiler shards and Shouma being burned by Momoka fire. But what I found really strange is that in the end they weren't together, even though the anime was about family. I guess Ikuhara decided to be a drama queen and have the boys sacrifice themselves to break the cycle of hate. It was a very entertaining anime, Ringo and the penguins were awesome and the comedy was good AND smart. I don't think Ikuhara is a genius writer, but he is a genius director. The use of the OST, the way he managed the flashbacks and the symbolisms and the whole conduction of the anime were almost flawless. |

Both Penguindrum and Madoka have given us a whimsical stories that drive the emotions of the viewer to each extreme. really great series sad to see it end, my mind was blown at least once in each episode. i almost cried but i held it in wanted to try it for once *mission accomplished?* so much meanings to this show not sure i got all of them but eh it was still great. in the end they all cared for each other! sad to see it ended like that i would have liked it to be all of them but i knew that i wasn't going to end that way. some shows leave a bitter taste when they end but i liked this one. satisfied. i loved the teddy bear scene i dead shed a few tears i guess i did fail. oh and how could i forget about the penguins epicness, they entertained even in time of drama... penguin #1 who at the end, endured and did not read his magazines what a guy... i mean penguin! penguin #2 and his awesome cockroach slaying and eating habits. and penguin #3 who knitted and was just adorable and made us sad when she would fade away when himari passed...many many times... and esmeralda who was just plain epic and funny as hell and loved #1! i think they made the show even better :D all in all i gave it a 9/10!!! |

Wonderful anime, great ending, I was close to tears. I knew a "reset" of sorts had to happen because everything had become so twisted. I think it's good Himari was separated from the two because all the mixed feeling of family love and romantic love was washed away. I thought it was weird that the guys were made younger, but it makes sense since that's their age when they shared the fate. At least we finally know that Shouma loved Ringo as well.. I really wanted a kiss there. Her reaching out to nothing made my heart sink. Sanetoshi claiming the train was going to come again was interesting, almost like a threat, not that Momoka was worried anyways haha. 9.45/10 Edit: I know this might be incredibly mean of me, but if it ended with Himari dead, and Kanba in jail or the psych ward from going crazy after losing her, that'd be totally okay with me. Natsume would visit him often, and he's slowly has affection for her. Ringo and Shouma would begin a relationship. This would be the more realistic "you cannot avoid your own fate" angle. |

Oh God, those two boys at the very beginning of the show were Kanba and Shouma! :o Probably the most beautiful and heartbreaking show I've ever watched where I didn't even get what was going on half the time. I'll really really miss this show. Everything was stunning - the music, the characters, the visuals, and oh god, the story! Will probably rewatch it as soon as I'm slightly less depressed to catch all the symbolism and whatnot I missed. Really, what a fabulous series. <3 |

Overall, I think I liked the ride. I won't call it my favorite anime, because I didn't like some parts of it. However, I would have to say the show itself is a beautiful work of art. Kanba/Himari shippers might hate me for this but their romance was rather weird, I suppose. Even when I found out they weren't siblings, their romantic development felt a bit weird. I knew Kanba loved her but I wasn't sure if Himari's feelings were that of a lover or a sister but I could be interpretating that completely wrong; it just wasn't clear enough for me to be too comfortable with it. Plus, I remember the anime saying that Shoma is Himari's fated one? Then again, it might have something to do with Shoma and Kanba being in the same fate so technically, it's like Himari/Kanba/Shoma in my head (So like a sibling thing, which makes more sense). I do see the relationship between the two though so that confusion is easily driven out of my head. What I was not expecting was Shoma to die. For me, Shoma was my favorite character, hands down. I loved his characterization (I suppose that makes sense because, just like Guilty Crown's Shu, he has so much potential). And I knew he had some importance to the characters and he was inevitably the key along with Kanba. However, when he burst into flames and said "I love you", I was like "WTF" Don't get me wrong, I do like Kanba (even though I thought he was losing it for a second), but when Shoma died too, I was in shock. Still, their sacrifice was beautiful so I appreciate both of their characters tremendously. It was bittersweet, insane and fun but just like Revolutionary Girl Utena, it's beautiful in an un-explainable way. I appreciate animes like this always. I'll give it a 8.5/10. Now, I have to get over Shoma's death, argh. <3 |
