"People die if they are killed" doesn't apply to this show I guess.
So does this mean that he's going to be stabbed every episode?
If so, 10/10 best MC.

This might be an average show but I think it deserves some credit for doing something different with the easy going, often-perverted friend character - no matter if it was predictable or not.

Whoa, they covered quite a bit this episode. Definitely liked the pacing though. Shame they didn't end up explaining the 4 type of fighters (unless that was actually explained later and I'm just remembering the timing wrong). For all the censored ecchi elements, I'm glad the action wasn't too shabby.

They did sort of botch the part where Basara was stabbed and he got up like nothing though... >.> Plus, I've never been a fan of the "destroy the whole world" trope unless it's done really well. Sort of glad we breezed through that without it becoming too big of a deal.

Also, I was semi-surprised that Yuuki's transformation scene didn't have any ecchi shots. Then again, when the manga went the ecchi route, it went all out while staying pure with the action. Neat that they decided to stick with that [for the action part at least].

I have to say this episode had a lot of Shonen elements to it with Basara saying things like " I'll fight to protect my family!" A lot seemed to happen quite quickly especially Basara fighting with Takigawa. He defeats his shadow, gets stabbed, Mio unleashes her power, Basaras fine and then he conceals Mios power.

Im glad this show isn't completely Ecchi based as last week's episode made it seem that this show would be more focused on ecchi than the plot.

This. I'm pleasantly surprised to have 1) this revealed so soon and 2) MC being the one that reveals it. Both are rare, and bode decently for future developments.
That scene with Jin in a location that gives definite demon world vibes is also quite intriguing.

And Yuuki also gets props this ep - especially for managing to go through the whole fight without any loss of clothing. In an ecchi series, that's got to take some serious skills.

I laughed so hard for that comment. :D

Seito took Brynhildr the Sacred Demon Sword, but Basara was like, "Screw you, this is my turf."
Hmm, Mio decides to turn herself in, but instead we get to see Yuuki transform and Basara using Banishing Shift.

Lol, Basara gets stabbed again, but this time he doesn't land on Mio's boobs.
At least he managed to control the power of Banishing Shift.
So Basara believes in Takigawa, however the mention of Zolgia means someone out there is more powerful.

Average episode, as usual. The fanservice in this show is a double-edged sword: if they go full fanservice, it drags the plot. If they ditch the fanservice, you get the plot but remember it's shitty and generic.

Oh well, I'm just here for Maria, anyway.

Enjoyable, but they missed out the explanation regarding the different types of fighters here. That said, Mio was an idiot for walking into a fight thinking that her "recently discovered and by no means under tight control" powers would be enough to stand up against the guy who took out Basara in the first place. She really should have thought up a better plan there.

As much as I liked this episode for portraying most of the story properly, that point where Basara got stabbed that made Mio lose control of her powers (i.e. emotional trauma at it's best) was really, really lame. I don't know if it was just the lack of urgency in the scene or poor animation, but I wasn't feeling it like it should have been shown... So she just floats in the air having a seriously light-hearted conversation with Basara, telling him casual as hell how she can't control her powers, all the while seemingly controlling her powers. Then he goes on for another two minutes about how he won't give up on her and all that... seriously, she's suppose to be about to blow up and destroy the world or something, you'd think that conversation could wait till AFTER he used Banishing Shift to stop her powers going wild, eh?

As for the end, I can't wait to see the plans that Jin has in place to make Basara fulfill his destiny...

^ Mio said she can barely control her power meaning there was enough time for everything :(

Awesome ep.I wanted the fights to be a little longer but whatever :'(
The scene about applying the medicine should be an extra on the blu ray version XD

They didn't say it but Mio's power is gravity control, she was about the create a black hole because of the stress.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the episode this time round, probably because they jacked up my expectations from the last 3 episodes. There was not enough tension and build up I think, and the climax of volume 1 (which is the battle between Basara and Takigawa) didn't have as much impact as I thought the anime was capable of showing.

I'd have to say, though, that Basara probably quietened some naysayers who believed he was 'just another dense harem male lead'. He's tonnes more astute than some of the typical harem MCs there are out there when he fully confirmed Takigawa to be the demon he fought. Regrettably some of the content from the LN was left out which would have made him even more amazing.

Not much fanservice this episode too, which is somewhat of an interesting surprise to me as they focused more on the serious aspects of the story. Despite just a decent showing this episode I'm looking forward to the next arc, which also means more fanservice, more backstory revealed and more Yuki.

I guess there's going to be complaints whether ecchi is present or not..

Good action oriented episode. One thing I like about Basara is while he's quite strong he's not necessarily OP from the get go without effort (like World Break's MC) and he can't use his power without some sort of repercussion at least. The enemy is strong too and he didn't just go down after being downed by MC's power up.

How fitting that this airs just before DxD Born. As far as execution goes, this is by far the best LN adaption in this genre for the past few seasons.

The episode felt a little rushed, a recover, battle, get stabbed in the back again. But I really like the fight, it could have been better though.

Really liked the flashback. It was quite a spectacle that the Brynhildr selected Basara as the master of that sword.

A pretty solid episode this week. The action scenes were pretty good and we got to see a little of Basara's past. I'm just glad they still left a lot of mystery to it. There are plenty of things we still don't know.

I think Basara's limit to his power makes him a little more unique.

The deal he made with whatshisface was pretty clever.

The pace is going a lot faster than I really thought it would. But the action was nice and the plot progressed. A good episode altogether.

WHAAAT? THE CLASSMATE FRIEND WAS THE DEMON ALL ALONG? WHAT IS THIS SUDDEN UNEXPECTED TWIST?!?
Hehe, just kidding, everyone knew it was him. He could have at least changed his fucking hairstyle... And his voice. And everything else.

Anyway, Basara confirmed that he can use the power of friendship and moe imouto power to channel it into pure OPness. But it doesn't protect him from being backstabbed pretty often. You know Mio, when you a strange shadow holding a knife behind him, you should taunt him immidiately, not right after he's been stabbed.

Those villagers were a bunch of ingrateful bastard. ''He even incinerated the bodies...'', WELL NO FUCKING SHIT. YEAH, HE REALLY SHOULD HAVE MOVED ALL THE BODIES AWAY, BECAUSE HE HAD SO MUCH TIME.

i hope we get eps with no fanservice once in a while so that there will be one less perv fag who would stop watching.

Anyway, quite good ep. Finally we get some backstory and some thing getting explained. Basara really likes to get pierced from 'behind' lol. And i wonder what his dad is up to.

But yuki's reason to fight mask guy is meh. "I just cant forgive you from hurting basara" lol. i was expecting some pantyshots during those fights since the lewd game is strong in past eps.

Maria cute as always. Im still hoping a kissxsis setup to shine in this anime

"Oh I just noticed the spiky hair." Yeah that would be my answer.

Either way, I like this friendship. Give and take is way better than, "A-ah this is power of friendship. I am so m-moved... My heart, ah, it's healing bit by bit. Now I will pretend to be your best friend when I am already gay for you."

Wow, this series sure is turning shit. Seems like it aims to be as unimaginitive and cliche as possible. Japanese hack writers at it again. Now that it will turn into a fucking triangle in this type of series, i know for sure that there will be absolutely zero character development from this point on. And who didn't see that triangle coming a mile away anyway?

I'm glad they casually revealed the villain, because any surprise reveal would be pathetic. I knew the villains identity the second i saw him.
