Can someone tell me the style of color they used for the Endcard Illustration!? Like how they did the Black and the Green with ofc the skin color white.

Takakura twins looking as badass as ever

Hmm...just a theory, but I think Sanetoshi and Yuri have some kind of connection. (They're both fabulous~! *shot*) I mean, maybe she's like his opposite or something, the one who's against fate. Maybe she already had it planned out, that's why she decieded to 'get engaged to' Tsubaki. That's why she didn't have much of a reaction when she saw what happened. Just saying, I don't think she's just a 'supporting character'
Tabuki getting horny for Ringo, wasn't a dream at all. What suspious and amazing was Yuri reaction to the whole thing, she was very composed and sympathetic of Ringo. She always seem to be a step ahead of Ringo plans, which hints that she might have the other half of the dairy, especially when only half of the dairy was shown at Natsume home.
About Shouma response that he and his brother was to blame, I believe he was exaggerating. Its probably their parents fault, it does explain Kanba involvement with a suspicious group, maybe the father previously (or still) works for the Kiga Group.
-Natsume revealed as stalker, was kind of a let down.
-Ringo realizing her feelings for Shouma, a bit stale, now her personalty seem to fluctuate to tsundere from yandere.
1. Kanba already figured out that the stalker was Natsume and that she was the one who had the diary (well, half of it)? o.Oa How did it come to it? When was it shown?
2. The whole scene between Tabuki and Ringo was an act, no?
3. And WTF at the explanation at the end. o.O It was such a sudden revelation that I find it hard to believe.

.
Pfft, I sure had some good laughs on this episode. Even though the first talk on the train seemed serious, I couldn't stop laughing because of the penguin. And when it started flying, I totally lol'd. Ringo's abuse was quite hilarious, too. And the ribbit-ribbit Tabuki, of course. God, the "scary face" and destroying the door was absolutely hilarious. And fabulous tea, oh god I love Yuri and her fabulousness
About the plot (...it's actually surprising that I care a lot about the plot even though I'm into the pairing - I usually care only about pairing if I like one, derp. I'm this kind of shipfag). So, Natsume's in the same situation as Takakuras after all, huh? With her Mario. Still, she's really obsessed with Kanba. Too many stalkers in this show, derp. I wonder about "that place".
And oh hey, we will finally know what connects Takakuras with Oginomes. Man, I can't wait for the next episode. Damn, I always can't (long time no see, this feeling), well at least for the few last weeks. Penguindrum, y u so awesome?
Also, Shoma, y u so cute? And the gloomy face at the train, fff hot. And the end card of course. Crap makes me go fangirl.
There's something about Ringo beating Shouma that really irritates me. I guess I'm not one for physical abuse that's used for comic relief.
I fuck yeah'd so hard at the frog scene. There truly is justice in the world.

1. Think about the suffrable memory lane Kanba walked down through. Who else could possibly have that many specifics in that memory lane? And if you still don't know, rewatch episode 10.
2. I wanted to believe that at first too, but it wasn't. Tabuki really did fall in love, but only temporarily.
3. I'm pretty sure the next episode will reveal it. You can view the Mawaru Timeline topic in this board and it will point out the fallacies in the series timeline.

1. Ah, I see. Yeah, I remember. I see the connection now. :D
2. Due to the potion? I don't want to believe that was the cause of Tabuki falling in love with Ringo.
DrHouse said: So Ringo, Shouma, and Kanba were born on the same day. Probably also at the same hospital since they go to the same aquarium too. We also keep coming back to that same hospital (Himari dying, Masako erasing that one girl's memories, Shouma's car accident). I guess that means that they were in the same Maternity ward. Not sure whether or not that's significant, but ma(ternity) war(d) sounds a bit like mawaru.
Good call on the ma(ternity) war(d) thing, it fits perfectly to the themes of the series too. I guess that's one of the title's meanings (then again, English being only a second language to me, I didn't spontaneously think about that) and would explain quite a bit of the script, project M, their past with the frequent hiospital flashbacks etc...
Apart from that, excellent episode with loads of developements and awesome direction as usual.
In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.
i feel like questions seem to be building up in this episodes =\ natsume-kanba scenes always confuses me, i couldnt seem to be able to collect all the clues and build possibilities of their past =S
and it seems like Natsume only have the FIRST part of the diary, which means, she's the one who took it from the hospital? and she seemed to know that she would only have the half part... and her hint of 'the important part...' which is likely to be the other part of the diary indicates that the first kuro-bike is not 'friends' with Natsume.
and what the hell is that Momoka incident, did i miss lines describing the incident in previous episodes somewhere?
and from the OP i found it funny how No.2 got his 'gas attack' in the subway while Ringo was desperate of Momoka's death due to gas attack in the subway as well.
in the end i didnt give this episode full mark, although the first part is awesome too =\ something seems to be lacking here. perhaps too many hints yet too many questions xD
glad that the chara drawing is not like that of episode 10.
- As far as the sarin gas attack goes - think about the penguin farting in the subway - "gas" attack there, of sorts... This was foreshadowing Shouma's eventual confession
- As far as the brothers and the sarin attack goes - I'm betting that their parents were part of the cult that planned it. So the boys were planned to be born into the "brave new world" that the cultists were planning for Japan.
The attack didn't achieve its goals, and the leaders were rounded up and convicted. The boy's parents likely were in hiding until recently when they disappeared, leaving the three kids behind.
And the twins know of their parent's history and feel that because they are to blame because their parents planned the attack for their benefit - thus the boys are the root cause.
The money may well be coming from the remainder of the cultists to support the kids.
Anyway, that's my speculation until we see the next episode - assuming that we get an explanation next episode.

Feasible theory. Also recall that particular "dream" sequence with "Hell" that Himari experienced. Especially the scene with the babies. It seems something else is going on...
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

You lost me at the parents being part of the cult group. If they really did any of this, then I don't think the children would be having normal lives at this point (what's define normal is being twisted now, but going to school and all that properly).
From what I think, members part of a terrorist attack would definitely not go out of there way to get themselves 3 children and act normally like nothing happened. To cover up for their "what if" they did, all of them would have a different identity. Pretty much from this, I don't see why there would be any point of going to say, "So Takakura isn't really their real last name?"
As for birth to a whole new world...the mother being at a hospital giving birth and the father going to do terrorism attacks? I don't see this.
I really do hope it's referring to the Sarin Gas Attack. It's about time this subject was tackled by an anime, since it was such a huge event over there.
Shouma abuse was great but painful (mainly the forehead flick) because i know how much it hurts haha!,but yes more questions then answers why was yuri so cool about it?,what does 95 mean was it short form for year 1995?, i get so lost with this show sometimes i feel like i'm watching a different show when i come to these forums.
Tabuki-Kero was freakier than any stalker in this anime .__.;
Shoma x Ringo is official and i support it 100% maybe it's just me but Shouma's character design is pretty cool for a part-time comic relief character XD
but man that physical abuse must've hurt big time LOL we got another seizon senryaku without anyone falling down
watch as the mastermind behind everything turns out to be Yuri rofl or Tabuki but that would be too much for my brain and his acting would be amazing
cliffhanger ending yet again =_=
The brothers are such gluttons for punishment and the girls seem totally willing to oblige.
I guess it could have been bit more creepier if they didn't mention the love potion lasting only a day. Still think that Masako and Yuri are in cahoots though which would explain her approach towards Ringo.
Another great plot development, and we're only on episode 11. The show is really turning into something greater than the sum of its parts. "Find the magic item" show my left foot.
And to fuel the fire for discussion, does anyone else here think that Mario and Momoka are connected in some way? Or that one of the characters technically shouldn't exist and are thus altering fate in some way?
Flawless bluebro is flawless. (Or, rather, with the whole maybe-he-isn't-all-that-flawless-theory going around right now, not so flawless.) (Ahum.) Anyway, this episode is my favorite so far. Return of the frog porn, Ringo creepiness, and yet, Ringo's character development. If anyone is dropping this show because of this episode I am disappointed in humanity.
Also, Shouma's "What am I to you?" made my heart skip. I literally can't wait for the next episode.
Frog tabuki is creepy as hell. Yuri appears very calm when she walked in on Tabuki and Ringo, for a side character she sure has a lot of screen time, I suspect she might play a bigger role in future episodes.

*Glances down at signature*
Are you kidding me? That's one of the best things about the show!
Yuri seems a little too calm and composed about the entire thing, she's definitely hiding something. Frog Tabuki was creepy as heck and Ringo finally got what she deserved in that way. Finally she realises how wrong it all it... And it only took falling for Shouma to do it.
We need more Himari and Kanba though. Those two characters are the best of the show, although I think pink haired demon dude is gonna be cool too.
Kipcha said: We need more Himari and Kanba though.
Agreed. Hopefully we'll get more of them soon. The whole sequence with her pulling something out of his chest in the first episode has yet to be explained. She hasn't done that since, and I'm dying to know what it was all about.
Natsume was saying something about a "curse from 16 years ago" as Kanba was leaving, so I'm guessing that's related to the incident that Ringo mentioned, and whatever it is that Kanba and Shouma's births caused.
As for why Shouma thinks his and Kanba's birth caused Momoka's death, I wonder if it's something supernatural though. Considering Himari's "dream" and her visit to "Hell", I wonder if that pink-haired Devil guy might have something to do with it.
I totally thought Tabuki's "love for Ringo" (the whole papercut scene) was Ringo's imagination, so I was pretty surprised when it wasn't.
And I support the theory that Yuri was the black rider who took the second half of the diary, which is why she's so calm, 'cause she knows about Ringo's plans.
During Survival Strategy, There was like the number 95 everywhere. Could it be refering to the Sarin Gas Attack in Tokyo subway on 1995? And penguin 2's farting might be a funny foreshadow there.
I like bubble teaaa~ Bubble tea for meee~
I'll have it for breakfast, I'll have it for tea, a little each day is a good recipee~
Hmm, Yuri looks more like a suspicious character now. (Although i always thought there was something off about her.)
Since i wrote quite a long text about my overall ideas about Yuri, i'll use the happy spoiler tag:
Idk if i should talk about this in this episode's thread for discussion but i wonder if the "Project M" that Masako talked about before isn't "Project Marriage" led by Yuri. 'Cause it's definitely not Ringo's "Project M". The whole engagement thing looked very rushed to me as well, too quick, i think there's something wrong about that. That adds up to how suspicious Yuri actually is.
I think it's possible that the person Masako was talking to on the phone(and asking to find the other half of the diary) was Yuri as well.
But since there are theories that Yuri is the biker that took half of the diary, it gets pretty confusing here. Unless she's just pretending to be Masako's ally and has the other half of the diary but is not telling that to Masako or something.
About the Tabuki Frog scene(which i thought that was another delusion of Ringo, i still can't believe it actually happened), i think Yuri was either aware of the potion/duration of the potion(this may mean she really have the half of Ringo's diary too, but, well, even before this happened, i already felt like Yuri was always one step ahead of Ringo, such a good timing.. ) or she was bluffing because she knew Ringo actually likes Shouma.
But seriously, she looked so calm, it's too weird.
Oh, and aggressive Ringo is really annoying, poor Shouma.
He made that stuffed cabbage for her and she goes and do that, uuurgh. *having a urge to punch Ringo*
Sorry, for the tremendously long post in the spoiler below. These are my current ramblings and beliefs about the episode and the entire story.
Phew, after watching the show subbed, reading some comments around the web, and giving it all some thought here's what I came up with.
Did you guys notice how Masako sees Kamba - her prince charming to say the least! Just look at the pic she's drawing. His clothes and that huge collar - that's the outfit for the King of the 16th century, the late renaissance. Did you, by the way, notice what a palace does Natsume live in? A huge one, and very-very western, european like - pictures, grand piano, sculptures, hangings - everything screams Aristocratism.
Hence I'm questioning myself - how much power and money do Natsume actually have? It seems like the one who actually picked the Diary up in ep.10 was one of her maids?
And who is she always talking to on the phone? Morever, just the way she speaks during those calls confuses me like hell. On one hand, "could you promptly find the other half for me" sounds like a definite order, polite, but still an order. On the other hand, the fact, that the person she's talking to seems to be aware of everything that's going on, incl. Project M (ep.07, Masako on the phone in the subway, stalking Kamba), and somewhat tracks the progress, puts him/her on equal with Masako, if not higher than her. Just WHO is it? Or different people?
My guess is Sanetoshi. But let's just leave it at that - I don't have much behind my back to stand for this point at this moment.
I, however, have an even huger question here. HOW DID MASAKO LEARN ABOUT THE RED SHOES ON THE ESCALATOR in episode 4? Moreover, how did she manage to teleport from her home to the escalator of the subway station within supposedly a few minutes? But seriously? I don't get it.
It's evening - dark outside.
Asami is around the Akasaka subway station, talking to Masako over the cellphone (ACP theater is likely a reference to ACT theater).
Masako is at her home, talking to Asami: "Everything's prepared"
Asami then enters the escalator of the subway and got pushed by somebody with the same clothes as Masako - same jacket, same trousers.
So how did Masako appeared behind Asami's back so quickly? Does she live close to Akasaka station? Or has a lot of time passed since the phone coversation between Masako and Asami? Or was it somebody other than Masako but in Masako's clothes? Doesn't make much sense... who? WHO? WHO ELSE READ MOMOKA'S DIARY AND REMEBERS ITS CONTENTS? From what we saw, I'd say, that we're made to believe that it was Masako. But then again, how did Masako learn about the red heels on the escalator?
From episode 5 we learned that Asami saw something important before she was pushed. It apparently was something about Kamba and that place! Because as we now know from episode 11, Masako did a favour (at least as she claims herself) to Kamba by cleaning Asami's memory.
So my clue about the events that happened that evening:
- Masako makes a phone call to Asami, who is at the Akasaka station.
- Masako goes to the Akasaka station
- Meanwhile Asami meets something/someone related to that place
- Asami enters the subway
- By that time, Masako has arrived at the same station, so she stands behind Asami and pushes her.
However, I still don't get Masako's reasoning for organizing all this.
I assume she's looking for the diary for Mario, just like Takakura twins do for
Himari. - OK.
I assume that she might have been pointed to Ringo by Mario. - OK.
I assume she's been stalking Kamba long before she started searching gor the Diary - so that's how she learned the Ringo whereabouts. I believe her train of thoughts was - I stalk Kamba, he and Shouma stalk Ringo, they get the Diary, I steal the diary from Kamba. Sounds logical. - OK.
BUT WHY INVOLVE KAMBA'S EXES?????? Why organize that weird group out of those three?? Why did Masako need to push Asami over the escalator - to get her into the hospital? WHY? What about the other two??? And what did all those three ex-girlfriends know about Kamba that could potentially turn him into an emperor penguin falling into the sea - why did she need to erase Kamba from their memories????
My only assumption so far is that she needed a way to start the hunt, give Kamba's memories a context, that he's dealing with somebody who's aware about that place, with somebody who can get the tools out of there to control the memories.
This still doesn't explain why she needed Asami in the hospital though. Could it really be the case that there's something special about that hospital??? Could it be that that place is somehow connected to that hospital? And could it be that this is precisely how Kamba was able to find Shouma in the hospital's basement? I mean nobody told Kamba that Shouma was there. Only when he realised who stood behind the blackmailing, was he able to reach the hospital's basement and discover Shouma. Ariadne's (read Masako's) red thread (fate) led him there.
That means that either the hospital itself plays an important role in the story or there's no other reason for Masako to push Asami down the stairs. To assume the idea that somebody told Masako about he diary's contents and force her push Asami for the sake of Ringo's DESTINY stamp in the diary - this sounds a bit over to me.
But let me write a bit more about that place. I'm convinced that we're talking about the Underworld here - about the world Himari visited in her dream. That world that is marked with KIGA group label all over the places. It is obvious that this is some kind of a supernatural place as it contains at least the tools for erasing memories (not to mention the "Whole in the Sky" library was full of those marks).
It's obvious that at least Kamba (he received the money to cover for the apartments from the guys in black with a KIGA label on the envelope), those men in black themselves, Kamba's father (he had a KIGA label on his jacket), and Masako (her red-ball weapon) are aware of that place.
We also know that Kamba and Shouma are somehow related to the 1995 gas incident (apart from their getting born on that day, in episode 11 we learn about the curse from 16 years ago and Shouma taking the blame for Momoka's death in that incident). Masako is related (since she was the one to mention about the curse and It's also easy to notice in ep.10 that the GAS containers in the basement had NATSUME written on them)
I would therefore link that place with the 1995 Gas Incident. Apparently Takakura and Natsume families have both something to do with 1995 Gas attack and KIGA group.
I believe Oginome family was also involved into it. As I mention in the Mawaru Timeline thread, there's a possible explanation to Ringo's father being "incorrect" with dates - Ringo's parents knew beforehand that Momoka will die in that incident, so they conceived Ringo as Momoka's replacement. A very cruel and perhaps not a very likely but still a possible theory. And in any case, just the sole fact that Ringo was born and Momoka died on that same date, weaves the Oginome family into the matter.
The only group left uncleared are those men in black who Kamba received the money from. Perhaps the black rider who stole another half of the dictionary is also a member of those? Nah, we'll see... the mystery will be gone, sooner or later. No doubts it all links to Sanetoshi and the "Whole in the Sky" library. Perhaps the entire 1995 incident was his idea.
About Yuri.
I do agree that she always appears in the right place and in the right time to stop/prevent Himari from messing with Tabuki. This is indeed suspicious. I however don't think that she behaved unnaturally calm in this episode. She's an adult and simply don't take Ringo as a serious opponent. Rather than panic or getting hysteric, she's simply dealing with the situation. She did indeed look naturally surprised to find Ringo at home with Tabuki's trying to rape her. But she's adult and smart to get to the right conclusions about what's going on. She sees Tabuki being "drunk" and Ringo, asking Yuri to break up with Tabuki rather than pleading for help/calling police as if she was harrassed really badly. So Yuri simply speaks her mind, that she was absolutely certain that Ringo likes Shouma. And Ringo doesn't even deny it. Because in her heart this is obviously her true feelings.
I'm also not convinced that Yuri has the 2nd half of the diary. How did she manage to change into the biking clothes so quickly? She just arrived home! Unless this is another timing issue similar to Masako teleporting from her house to Asakami subway station to push Asami down the escalator. But we'll see. I think it's a fact that Yuri does play a huge role in the story. Haha, I won't even be surprised if Yuri is Sanetoshi, LOL
And one last thing about the Masako and Kamba. The thing that he promised her back in their ?childhood? Could it be that Masako and Kamba were the children Himari saw on her way back from the library, around the Child Broiler? And could it be... that since the Hospital, the that place, and the Underworld seem all to be related, could it be that Kamba has once made a promise to Masako in that hospital's basement or something? Meh... I'm afraid I'm seeing and overthinking things. So let's see how the story evolves further tonight!
Han-yuu said: Great episode as all others.
I approve Black Penguin x Blue Penguin Pairing. Best pairing in the anime universe.
I like the post, bro.
More surprises in this episode, I want more episodes, answers are getting into place, and new questions appears, just like it should be, and I'm pretty sure Sho have fall in love now, he's acting strange, very strange.
