| The official website of the Shiroi Suna no Aquatope (Aquatope of White Sand) television anime revealed two new cast, theme song peformners, the first promotional video, and first key visual (pictured next to promotional video) on Tuesday. The original anime series by animation studio P.A. Works will begin airing on Tokyo MX, BS Fuji, MBS, and Ryuukyuu Broadcasting in July 2021. Female vocal group Arcana Project (Monster Musume no Oishasan) is performing the opening theme "Tayutae, Nana-iro." Anisong unit Mia REGINA (Kawaikereba Hentai demo Suki ni Natte Kuremasu ka?) is performing the ending theme "Tsukiumi no Yurikago." Voice actresses Miku Itou (5-toubun no Hanayome) and Rikako Aida (Senryuu Shoujo) are starring as Kukuru Misakino and Fuuka Miyazawa, respectively.  Toshiya Shinohara (Nagi no Asu kara) is directing the anime, with Yuuko Kakihara (Tsuki ga Kirei) handling the series composition. U35 (Lapis Re:LiGHTs) is in charge of the original character design, while Yuki Akiyama (Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara) is serving as both the character designer and chief animation director. This show was not going to be yuri bait at all, but because another expectation of yuri fanboys that an all-female show must be gay or look gay, as usually has little to do with the actual plot. Most likely it will actually be the new Sakura Quest. You just mirror the typical behavior of the fujoshi, who consistently pretend that their slash ships in the another shonen will have some chances every season. |

The promo says girl meet girl and we saw them holding hands in the first PV. That already look a lot more yuri bait than Sakura Quest. |

As if the same cannot be said for the yuri fanboys with their sincere belief that any friendly, hostile, or whatever interaction between female characters is an intentional yuri subtext. Honestly, the only thing about all this that can be confidently taken as gay-ish is their look at each other at the end. Otherwise, this is another all-female show, which gets the attitude "if this is about girls, then this is yuri". Doubt this will get full straight romance (although in one scene we see a potentiall (?) male character), but until we see the actual show, it's just wishful thinking. I remember that when Carol and Tuesday or Fairly Gone was in development, there were also a bunch of people around them who were 100% sure it would be yuri. |

| @RobertBobert tbh i never shipped two female characters in a non yuri anime except for Hibike i just hope this is a yuri because i didn't watch any top tier yuri since YagateKimi anyway, this is an original so we don't know much about it but from the pv , both female leads looks so cute ( it's most likely both of them will have a lot of cute moments together) / top tier art and animation / i liked the ost too so i'm definitely going to watch it if this is not a yuri then it's okay , i will not hate it for that i'll just go to a corner and cry a little for my sunk ship x) |

Therefore, I opened the topic of "expectations", where people just write what they are waiting for. |
