Well, compared to the previous episode, this one was an improvement. The animation is still pretty weak (this season has weaker animation than both previous season, which is kind of disappointing), the new OSTs are pretty nice and next episode will be the climax of the arc. Looking forward to the Hideout Raid arc.

8/10

And if you are wondering if they save Kacchan...

I'm conflicted on whether Kacchan is gonna turn himself into a villain, i hate this thought because it reminds me of Naruto/Sasuke's situation; When the U.A. tries to safe Kacchan, I feel like it might be too late. Overall, killer episode, that last scene made me laugh tremendously somehow

Another episode delivered with great intensity. Dark Shadow is a force that you definitely should not underestimate. This villain ambush have been forcing the students to fight strategically using their improved quirks. Especially with Deku and his tactics in the most dire of situations. Love seeing their fruition and the bonds that enables them to protect each other while cooperatively working together to survive.

On the other side, the villains are getting more screen time now. This episode is fleshing them out. Toga is such a cute danger and Twice's hilarious duality is entertaining to watch. You know, I'm really contented with the fact that we can actually see relationships within the League of Villains and that's something that adds a lot to these villains. It turns bland antagonists into something more interesting and fearful. Akatsuki in Naruto is also another example of great antagonists.

The animation is consistent again, didn't find anything disappoint with that. The only thing I noticed that looked out of whack were some of the character's faces. Looked like Kaminari's whey faces, hehe.

The animation was solid. The stuff with Dark Shadow was pretty good and the scene with Awase and Momo looked excellent.

What no it wasn't even 1% of Bones product in this episode in that Dark Shadow animation, the episode was ok but Toga moment are <3 only reason I liked this episode
If you think this episode had good animation considering the staffs involved then you need to watch their works and other Bones studio
Sorry it wasn't that great to be called as solid animation from Bones

The animation was good, its just that the art was inconsistent. I'd say its better than getting episodes with lots of still shots.
Episode was good. 4/5

Nice strategy, Deku-kun.
Dark Shadow defeated the Slicer Teeth.
2 vs 1 Cat fight.
There's a new type of Nomu! And it's super creepy.
Oh no! He kidnapped Blond Sasuke! and Tokoyami..
Psycho girl falling in love at the first sight.
Again, another nice strategy from Deku.
Looking forward for the next episode.

The direction was great, but the animation was only decent and the drawings were really wonky. Makes me think this episode was rushed. Not all episodes will have 10/10 animation so I'm not too bothered. Plus it looks to be better next week.

I was hoping they'd do Tokoyami a bit more justice though. The devastation of Dark Shadow can only be scene from a bird's eye view.

Good episode nonetheless.

exactly, i thought the same. i had my hopes up for tokoyami's rampage but wasn't as spectacular as shown in manga. anyways, great episode

Still don't see why Toga is so favored... she's so psychopathic. Like this is Peri levels of psycho if any of y'all play Fire Emblem.

I was shaking and screaming. With this week and especially NEXT WEEK I've been waiting on for 6 whole months for this. Mr Compress stealing Bakugou in front of Deku's eyes and him yelling (return -- 返せ -- ownership) IT'S NOT SUBTLE AND I'VE BEEN WAITING.

The entire operation with Shouji, Tokoyami, Todoroki, and Deku. The intensity will ramp up heavy.

Tsuyu and Ochako aka protective girlfriends. Oh lord they both were tough and so well put. The emotion in those scenes!!

Also the Toga and Twice content is great and that scene with Toga and the 'ne ne ne' got me having chills.

Great episode as always! Some parts actually gave me goosebumps.

By the way, I see they mentioned Lida a couple of times during this episode and I had not realised until now that I can't remember seeing him for a couple of episodes now and I can't for the life of me remember where he went or if they even told us where he went. Does anyone remember? Or has he just mysteriously been absent from recent episodes?

What an amazing episode. Dark Shadow looked very scary. Deku was smart in baiting it so Bakugou and Todoroki can calm it down. It defeated Moonfish so easily! Loved it when Deku said he wants to save both Bakugou and Tokoyami. Toga is quite creepy. Mr. Compress has Bakugou in that tiny ball :O Poor Momo is hurt by that Nomu, but she managed to attach a tracking device on it. Mr. Compress being slammed on the ground was great! Can't wait for next week. Plus Ultra!

That's pretty lucky I gotta say, when Midoriya plan on bringing dark shadow to some light and know nothing about them also having some fight with a villain. Also the mission of "kidnapping Bakugo" seems not complete yet thanks to that human bullet strike. Nice move.

"What kind of guys do you like? I like guys that are all beat up and bloody!" Toga says as she pictures Stain. Then she sees Midoriya, who is perpetually always beat up and bloody. New love blooms.

One reason I love this series so much is that not just the heroes are interesting and likeable characters, but the villains can to be as well! Toga, Twice, Mr.Compress, Spinner, Magne, Dabi, Muscular, Moonfish... these all could have been throw away villains with super generic attitudes and characteristics, but they aren't! This story is being told from two sides and some of these villains are so interesting that you kind of want to root for them too.

Good episode. We've got Deku trying to help Tokoyami and Bakugo for the most part. Sadly as they were on their way back both Bakugo and Tokoyami got taken away soundlessly by one of the villains.

Toga of course steals the episode as we finally get tot see her in action and best of all, she still hasn't shown her quirk. She's very interesting as a character and I'm excited to see more of her. It's a good thing Deku met up with Tsuyu and Ochako as they chase down the man who captured Bakugo and Tokoyami and eventually capture him right in front of the other villains who were just meeting up.

Am looking forward to the next episode.

Its official Tokoyami is an unfulfilled Shonen Protagonist. He's a young boy who wants to be the greatest here and has a demon like spirit inside him that makes him more powerful whenever he goes bezerk.

Apparently one of Tsu's quirks is ignoring basic rules of anatomy. Like speaking clearly with her tongue out and when she's hanging literally by her hair her reaction is "oh no I'm trapped!" Instead of "AAAHHHHHRRRGGG!!! CUT IT OFF!"

I make a lot of nitpicks and notice a lot of pointless details here but that's only because this episode was brilliant and enjoyable as always. Deku managed to take on challenges with both his arms broken. That's just plain badass. All the other characters got a chance to shine and use their quirks creatively and in coordination with one another. I love seeing stuff like that.

I can't wait to see what happens when are heroes fall into the villain's lap (or in this case spine) next episode.

It is obvious she can do something with blood like Stain, even though Stain is more instantaneous, though the effects are not so dire. While she does not seem to be able to employ her ability as quick, I am afraid they have it balanced by practically having Uraraka be a hostage later on. If not forced to fight heroes, that is.

What I took away from the episode:

- Tokoyami's Quirk is REALLY strong as well as badass.
- Deku wishing to save BOTH Tokoyami and Bakugo is what heroes are made of, methinks.
- Bakugo looking confused when Todoroki, Shoji, and the rest were making plans to safely return him to the camp was cute (but, he got kidnapped, anyway).
- Toga looks to be a fun but also creepy/stalkerish type of character. She sort of reminds me of Yuno Gasai from Future Diary (or any crazy-esque person, really).
- Ochako was simply badass for trying to take the aforementioned Toga down with the moves she learned from Gunhead during her internship with him.
- Twice is a really funny villain! Almost like Deadpool, in a way.
- The ending of the episode seemed a little strange with that sudden cutoff, but was sort of redeemed when Deku and Todoroki (and perhaps one other) came hurtling down to the ground on the back of Mr. Compress. It got the blood pumping, that's for sure!

Anyway, can't wait for the next episode!

I felt bad for Moonfish. I always pity insane villains like him because they are so messed up that it looks that they don't know what they are doing and are just following instinct. Also his teeth got broken. Ouch.

So the defeated villains atm are Muscular, Mustard, Moonfish, Magne (wow, lots of M's) and Spinner (though it seems like Kurogiri is about to rescue the later two), and Dabi mentioned that the Squad consisted of 10. The remaining five are Dabi, Himiko, Twice, Compress and Nomu. I wonder if they will be defeated this arc (haven't read the manga) I hope not, I liked every villain except Muscular and Nomu, so I hope they come back later. Hyped for the next episode!

This Anime Needs a Deadpool like character to spice it up. Its boring & same old garbage / power of friendship etc.

Japanese anime follow same safe formula for certain fan-base. Studios don't take risk like western studios. That is why mainstream audience don't care.

I wish something like marvel level comes from japan. Something that mainstream audience can enjoy globally.

1- Fairy Tail is power of friendship bullshit. In my hero you can see that there is actual planning from the villains and heroes going into the fights.

2- If anything, most Marvel movies follow a structure that's just as predictable as most shonen.

3- The Deadpool movie we all enjoyed so much wouldn't be a thing if it wasn't for the fans clamoring for it and Ryan Reynolds convincing the studio. Hollywood takes even lesk risks when making movies than the anime industry.

4- My Hero Academia is the biggest anime mainstream success since Attack on titan.

I can't tell if you are a troll or just very badly informed, but you've managed to be wrong on every single statement you've made, except maybe the Deadpool character thing, and we already have Twice with the villains.

Agreed, BNHA is among the best shounens I've ever read or watched, and this is coming from a guy that traditionally hates shounens. If you wanna rag on shounens for cliches there are plenty out there, but BNHA is not something you wanna challenge with poor use of cliches or with such a lack of effort as that guy did.

The golem battle was filler, but the good kind, so it was not really "better" than the manga. I agree that the quirk training was better in the anime.
But since the vilain attack started I really feel like they made some bad choices when adapting. The most obvious one is Deku, Todoroki an Shoji landing on Mister Compress, in the manga, the panel is awesomly powerful and detailled. There, it kinda felt flat. The same goes for Dark Shadow destroying Moonfish, again, the manga panel was fantastic (someone even posted it) and the anime choose a less impactful point of view which simply didn't match it.

I'm just a bit let down after the masterpiece that was the Deku VS Muscular fight. I was expecting the whole arc to be adapted this way. But I know it's my fault and that I was expecting too much. And since I'm still enjoying it it's not that bad.
