Yeah, this adaptation is increasing my appreciation of DiU ten fold. This arc was so good, definitely my favorite part of Jojo up until now. Can't say I really thought that when reading it, but hell I barely remembered the arc tbh. And Koichi is very much a show stealer, yeah. I think long term I still think Josuke is the best of the protagonist characters in this part, though. But, we'll see if that holds up.

Gotta love Cell Jr's powers. Finally Koichi can hurt his opponents physically.

Glad Koichi isn't just some useless bratty character like in other anime

Lol @ the people who told me Koichi isn't like Polnareff and then he cuts his hair like his this episode.

Note: I'm not talking about personality either. I'm talking about him always ending up in disastrous situations, having just as much or even more screen time than the main character, etc.

Good episode, I liked the first part a lot better, but still good none the less. I knew Echoes 2 was coming, but I would've liked for it to show up a bit later. What a shame though, I preferred the hairstyle Koichi's had these last few episodes.

It's kinda frustrating they don't get the good beatdown they deserve because they're girls or must wait an other female character to beat the crap out of them...

PS: And because It's an adaptation of a 90's manga I guess....

Yukako's character really is meh, I just can't like her for some reason. BUT DAMN! P4 yet again proves that when it comes to abilities and creativity it is EASILY better than all of the parts that came before it. Koichi's Reverb is very cool and a unique-ish power, can't wait to see what more exciting things he does with it.

Noticed a slight dip in animation quality and some off model faces here and there, but the last part of this ridiculous arc was as fun as its first, and if the words of manga readers are anything to go by DP is mainly to thank for that.

Seriously though, kudos to the anime staff for providing us with excellent material week after week without fail and keep up the work.

Compared to Hazamada or Tamami, Yukako ended up being less antagonistic from the outset, I'd say. Both of the previous two went into the encounter planning on killing someone while Yukako just wanted to help Koichi and get him to like her.

By kidnaping him, forcing him to eat "things", making him pee in his pants, and wanting to kill him because he doens't like her so, once dead, she'll love him forever (and I don't count when she tried to burn the other schoolgirl.)

That's not "less antagonist" than the other ones for me...

Echoes ACT1 can write an onomatopoeia or a phrase on anything, from human flesh to the ground, and have that sound repeat itself over and over with increasing volume.
Echoes ACT2 has a different power involving sounds. When the onomatopoeia is written on an object now, touching it activates the effect of the sound. ACT2 can only use onomatopoeias.

Ugh, first time I hated an episode of JoJo.

Watching Koichi just whine and take that abuse for episode and a half was so cringe worthy. Why did it take him so long to try to fight back?

Also, that bitch got off way too easy at the end for the shit she pulled. She practically tortured him and humiliated him. I felt like what she did to him by making him piss in his pants makes him look way worse than how he made her look at the end.

Hobgoblin2099 said:

My favorite thing about the Yukako chapters is that Yukako ultimately more or less gets what she wants, aside from Koichi falling in love with her. She wants Koichi to improve because she sees his potential and he ends up with a new Stand power. She sees that Koichi isn't testing well and ends up helping him.

That's exactly what pissed me off so much, I felt like she's a Karma Houdini and Koichi is still terrified of her.

Just curious, why do some many people love Yukaku, in terms of behavior she was even crazier than many of the previous villains. I guess it's because she's a girl, plain and simple. That's what annoys me the most - a woman can do anything to a man and act in any way she likes and guys will still love her. Come on, she is not even that hot, just batshit insane.

Anyway, I'm probably overreacting but I would expect shit like that from silly harem shows, not from JoJo, one of the few truly manly shows left around, that's why I am so disappointed.

Peace to everyone :)

Jojo never had a very active anime subforum, plus we're already at Part 4, so less people watching

When Koichi did fight back, his best option of defense was sticking an "I hate you" sound effect to Yukako which she immediately undid. His Stand was too weak at the time, and he had no idea where he was. Trying to fight against Yukako when she can control his body at will and he is unsure of his surroundings would have gotten him captured or killed, which is why he tried reasoning with her first.

Yukako might have been more obsessive than some of the previous villains, yes, but are her actions worse? Prior to "Aaahhh, I'll kill you for not loving me", the worst thing she does is set a girl's hair on fire.

Angelo raped and killed people, Tamami was going to possibly force Koichi's mother to commit suicide and his sister to sleep with him, Hazamada cut out someone's eye for not liking the same anime as him, Keicho killed random people with the Bow and Arrow, etc.

Yukako's definitely not a saint, but it's not like precedent hasn't been set.

LOL, setting a girl's head on fire was pretty bad, she would have died if not for Okuyasu's interference.

Also, locking Koichi in a house somewhere God knows where and basically torturing him, having him eat weird stuff and pissing in his pants etc. before as you mentioned trying to kill him was definitely on the level of the stuff previous villains did...

That was my point, though? All of the villains up to this point have tried to murder people or done awful things. Even Okuyasu was going to let Koichi die in his introduction.

I was pointing out how Yukako didn't exactly do anything that marks her as worse than any of the previous Stand Users.

Yes, and my point was even if she wasn't worse than previous villains, the wasn't better either.

And my problem is for doing the same thing as other villains she gets much less retribution both by the show itself and especially by the fans, who even love her more for being crazy.

I'm really liking koichi as a character. it feels like the idea they had when writing him is make you think he is that archetype of the weaker character that is always needing the other stronger characters save him. just to instead make him quite capable of holding his own.

And now Koichi has become a miniature Guile while his stand is a miniature Cell.
