| This didn't really feel like an ending at all. The hot spring scenes with Ayase were weird as hell, but I enjoyed the ones with Okarun and Jiji. The cliffhanger at the end is definitely one way to get me to watch the second season in July, well played Science Saru. Overall, some episodes were better than others. Episode 7 was where it peaked for me and it just went downhill from there. Still enjoyed watching though, 7/10. |

| Fantastic anime overall. One of the best of the whole year. This episode was wonderful too. The down-to-Earth moments of this show are the best. Their journey to the dude's mountain home was super serene and chill. Some tranquil, peaceful moments to vibe to. Having said that, I would have expected far better of a massive anime like this than to end in such a poor manner. I'm all for a bit of risque storytelling, but using that spa scene as one of the final moments in the entire first season — being the cliffhanger — is just bafflingly sour. I expected SO MUCH MORE. As for the hole in the wall, I agree with people in that it's anticlimactic. But I'm much less irritated with that scene. Especially since season 2 was immediately announced, and the staff will probably begin producing it right away. If I were the director, I would have found a way to pad out S1 E12 while EXCLUDING a majority of that spa scene. I would have used the hole in the wall as the encapsulating final scene/moment; THEN, I would have introduced the creepy old men in Season TWO Episode ONE as the opener. (Which actually would parallel the aliens in S1E1.) I can't explain why, but a perverse assault scene would somehow be in much better taste serving as a "first" episode than a "last" episode, ya know? Yeah, I have mostly positive things to say about this anime. But the fact that they thought this episode would be a good way to end the first season is dumbfounding, and uncharacteristic of the otherwise genius direction. |
| Amazing adaptation by Science Saru I can not praise them enough for bringing this story to life. I'm looking forward to July for the 2nd season but dear god that double cliffhanger was bad. If I was an anime only I would be heated right now. |

| I don't think the continued putting of Momo in these kind of situations is a deal breaker for me or even anything that would lower my score, but I seriously hope it calms down. Only the stuff in episode 1 was particularly funny to me. |
| The last two episodes seriously dragged this anime down. It was clear they were stalling for time due to not enough content to fill 2 episodes. I just don't understand. It'd be much better if they had just waited and make this thing 2 cours straight instead of leaving it for a cliffhanger for 7 months. Ending this season in such a milquetoast way has got to be one of the worst decisions in anime production in recent time. Whoever decided this on the production committee really fucked up. That being said the previous episodes were a good adaption. Even when the lows are really lows, the highs are more than enough to make up for it. I thought about giving this a 7 but considering the earlier episodes, 8/10 seems like a fair compromise. Such a shame because I'd have given this a perfect score if it weren't for the last 2-3 episodes. I hope the next season is better directed because they have some really good arcs incoming. |

| Momo trying not to get involved in paranormal situations while naked: 100% impossible. Oh boy, artists are gonna have a field day with that last scene of hers... Nice final episode with Okarun and Jiji slowly becoming pals, and the double cliffhanger to keep the audience invested for the already announced second season. Overall, gotta say I really enjoyed this first season of Dandadan. Wasn't really a fan of the middle-school level dick n' nuts humor and the author's fascination for having Momo in rapey situations but the top-tier production values as well as direction in certain episodes really made up for those initial aspects. Not to mention Okarun and Momo's chemistry, which I found truly endearing throughout these twelve episodes. Episode 7 - best episode, by the way. Even if its execution and stellar direction made said episode feel like it came out of a whole different anime. 8/10 - Hoping for Creepy Nuts to do the OP song for Season 2 as well. |
| Man can’t believe the season has already gone so quick. At least season 2 is only 2 seasons away. As a manga reader i knew it was going to end in a cliffhanger. There was really no good stopping point so had to stop somewhere and keep peoples interest. Was not expecting Okarun and Jiji to sing the Slam dunk OP and ED (it did not translate in the manga well) but loved the reference. Bromance incoming and this is why I changed how i see Jiji after his introduction. I mean pretty much everyone had a weird introduction. Loved the bros playing soccer and saying how muxh they loved Momo. Jiji was like “im the childhood friend” Okarun was like “Win…”  |

@vanillasaruto yes for sure! it eases the pain knowing that the 2nd season has been confirmed AND it's a relatively short period of time compared to others, BUT....I WANT IT NOW!!! That cliff hanger is just torture!

Theres really no point, the cursed house arc goes for like 20 chapters so theres no stopping point anywhere other than a cliffhanger.
Pretty much the manga ends its chapters in cliffhangers as well so its not surprising
| @kisip123 well OVA don't always continue where the season ended. Some of them are even like sidequest style or like just added context for certain things. And unless they make a movie ova that cover that whole arc, you're right, it would be pointless lol |

| Yeah I feel that the first cour should have ended earlier and the previous episode that introduced Jiji should have been the start to the new cour in Summer 2025. This episode in a vacuum was solid but as an episode to end a cour and wait months for a new episode, the timing is really bizarre and not quite right. Again, not much Science SARU can do about it since they adapted the episode fine, just the last two episodes felt a bit unneeded for this particular part and would've somehow been better off in the Summer portion. Besides my issues with that, this has been one of the better shounen anime I've seen in the past few years. It's over-the-top and eccentric, but filled with personality and the adaptation quality delivered strongly. Jiji's a mixed bag but I like the other characters and the chemistry developed, the antagonists and world itself is crazy and fun to watch and in general, there's a charm to this that came off well here that I didn't feel an ounce of in a lot of other 'popular' shows in the last few years. Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Jigokuraku, even other popular and notable anime like Solo Leveling that's a bit different left me so bored over the last few years so getting a show that's popular with a good adaptation and a style that I enjoyed was refreshing to say the least. Glad to see Science SARU, a different kind of studio take on a popular manga instead of the boring, normalized options and the unique nature of them came through well here. Very good first cour with a blueballed feeling with the finale for the 2nd part. |
| No frigging way Jiji sang the Slam Dunk opening!!!!!! I enjoyed this series way too much. The only small nitpick I would have is that sometimes the colors in the fight disrupted the visual representation of the series, but that only happened 2-3 times, so it doesn't matter at all. What a way to leave the series tho. Keeping all the characters in a big predicament like that.. Definitely didnt feel like an ending. Feels like the next episode should come out next week, but it will come out 6 months later :( |

| Not a fan of Momo being SA again but..pretty good show overall. Let's hope Momo can stop being put in those situations. 9/10 |
