| The OP is lit af. I loved the ED too. Man, this anime seems incredible so far. To think I only started watching just cos I saw the key visual and name and thought they looked cool... Wasn't expecting it to be this comedic tho. But I welcome it. I suppose Kafka will be some sort of superhero after joining the Defense Corps. I wonder if he can keep his identity of being a kaiju a secret. I really wonder why he was turned into a kaiju in the first place. What was the goal of that fly-looking kaiju? I think Ishikawa is genuinely a good guy. He didn't do the cliche of not believing in his senpai when he turned into a kaiju. He actually supported him throughout. The first episode kinda gave the impression he was gonna be a pain in the ass. But it seems like he's going to be a bro. This episode went by too fast. Can't wait for the next episode. |
| The OP was unexpected, but i like the iconic scene of Kafka and Mina in 3D, they show a lot in the series. ED is cute. I already got both full songs. Episode is really fun and i can't wait for more. |
| This show's comedic timing is really on point. That's so important when you are an action comedy. The dub cast is also fucking killing it. |

So, it seems that Kafka is the only character we're gonna have with super powers. That makes his praise for the commander girl even more nonsensical. She's just wearing a powered suit like everyone else. Why don't they just attach those guns to a helicopter?  i don't like the comedy. The ending is a lot better than the opening. A rare dub for the ending gang. Also there's no way those 2 people (the woman and her kid) were the only people in the vicinity of that attack. I'm pretty sure Kafka killed a lot of people with his first punch and the author is trying to pretend nothing happened. This is why urban combat is always kept small scale. To avoid innocent casualties. I don't like that the author isn't addressing the insane amount of people that Kafka killed.  |

| Getting triggered when someone mentions his age, this joke got old real fast. Also not a fan of the over the top comedic reaction faces. The comedy in general falls mostly flat for me. I mean, I knew all of that from the manga, but now those aspects get highlighted way harder. Kinda wished this would go more into seinen territory to be honest. |

| The comedy on the last half of the episode was absolutely trashy. Worthy of a Marvel movie. What a way to ruin a supposed serious moment for the main character. |

| Both the OP and ED slap hard :D That "good kaiju vs bad kaiju" moment reminded me of Attack on Titan, it's such an overdone trope but unceasingly fantastic. When Kaiju Kafka knelt in front of Ichikawa and the civilians, and Ichikawa didn't react, helping the little girl feel less scared, was a powerful moment. Also, peeing out of the nipples was unexpected and hilarious XD That exam entrance makes it obv who the main characters are, as exam arcs tend to do. While I loved the blonde girl's design and powers, smashing someone else's car to move it out of "her" parking spot was just grating—spoiled parking lot bullies are the worst type of people >:( |
| The opening song is better than I expected, but I think the animation will have to grow on me. Wasn't expecting it to be 3d. So far the soundtrack has been incredible and absolutely elevating the show. That scene of the kaiju blood rain went hard af too |
| Another great episode. The OP blew my mind, the CGI visuals were incredible, and don't get me started on the music. The visuals in the ED complement the music well. I didn't expect a big dose of comedy from this anime, but what surprised me even more was the action and the soundtrack when Kafka killed the Kaiju. I'm eager to see how the protagonists perform in their entrance exam for the defense group, and I already can't wait for Kafka to reunite with Mina. |

Ok episode but not a fan of the comedy here. I'm not against the comedy but with some less comedy scenes I think the series would be much more enjoyable.
| @E-Satie The main issue with the comedy in here it's the large amount of it and it's not really well placed. It takes away too much of the expected tension or the despair of being found out by the defense force. I'm okay with cringe comedy in small dosis (Demon Slayer had them in the breather episodes). _______________ There are tsunderes and there are straight out assholes. Blondie here wasn't a tsundere... Meh. So so episode. It felt incredibly telegraphed in some of the key parts (like the aracnid Kaiju waiting ages to attack the little girl just so that super Kafka can come to the rescue) or the rivalry schtick. At least the action bits are still engaging, guess that will be the reason for me to stick around a bit longer. |

| another good episode of one of the very few shows i'm enjoying this season but i did prefer the first episode ngl. OP and ED have some of the best visuals i've seen in ages. kafka with another dub passing the test after destroying the other kaiju and hell yeah fairouz ai is here. |

| The main character's Kaiju form looks very similar to Barry the Chopper from Fullmetal Alchemist, especially during comedic moments. Also, I already hate this blonde Shinomiya, but that's just my first impression. |

| This really does have that classic battle shounen comedy, just wasn't expecting it to be that frequent. I would binge this if I had the patience to wait out the whole season, get that shounen fix all at once. |
| When was the last time I actually found anime comedic scenes funny? I was straight up cackling at some moments LOL It's certain that he'll eventually find out, but I'm betting this will be like AoT in the sense that he becomes a weapon for the forces. I know I already dislike Kikoru. What a brat. |
