It isnt always that pointy. Like Grace Neutral her ears are more subtle If I did it wouldnt be to the heavier degree. I am not too keen on surgery though particularly this isnt always done by an actual doctor which means they sometimes dont have access to anesthetic so more pain. The point is self expression like any body modification, some find it aesthetically pleasing. I also used to know a guy who had most of an ear removed because of cancer so I could definitely see someone opting for this shape of reconstruction if they had cancer on the just a small part of the top part of their ear or had their ear damaged from an accident where that part is missing and naturally people want to be symmetrical so both sides could be done. Shape of your ears influences your hearing and some people think pointed ears can improve hearing a little bit. |

Maybe I just didnt see a recent enough pic idk. Im not exactly an expert but I've seen pics of pretty extreme body mods before that would give you nightmares. |
