is there an anime you would rather not get caught watching, by your close friends or colleagues. and you would be very embarrassed to admit that you actually like it. or maybe a manga.. be it too childish, retarded, girlie, loli, homo, echi, violent, gore, or maybe its fucked up on many levels. or its just wrong, and displays nazi's as heroes.. whatever the reason is, please explain why.

I guess spice and wolf, cause trying to explain it to people who have never seen it is like really awkward, "Yea it's about a wolf girl and a merchant who love each other and travel around talking about economics".... then my friend replies " Yea sounds super exciting..."
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

Some of the shounen genres maybe. Some of my girl friends would also ask why I like action and boyish stuff. It makes me a bit shy, but I really don't mind. Since we have our own tastes, unfortunately they only like shoujos/romance stuff.

if i would be too embarassed to openly admit it, i probably wouldn't be posting in this thread, so that means i'm not too embarassed about anything ^^

however, people look at my kinda funny when i tell them that i like love hina, fruits basket or kanon (2006) ^^ usually i watch more shounen genres, but i also like all this romantic stuff

Ya, some romance/drama such as Full Moon wo sagashite, clannad, with cute demographics. Actually, it's not that I'm embarrassed, but more like I dun want to be annoyed by some of my close frens who will mock me saying"You are a guy, and you watch such girly and cute things."

No specific anime, but in general, I will be hesitant to openly admit I like anime at all to someone who isn't an anime fan. That said, I'll watch anything with giant fighting robots in it, provided I have the time, regardless of how bad the series is, so people kind of expect me to watch crap shows. As a matter of fact I have a hard time getting people to watch shows that I know they'll like because of this preconception XD

I'm not embarrassed since only like two friends watch anime, and they don't really go past the Naruto and Death Note stuff. I don't really care what they think because Cardcaptors, Nanoha, and the likes are good stuff :D

There's nothing I watch that embarrasses me, despite my advanced years (51 on Tuesday). Yuri? You betcha! Shoujo? Sure thing! Slice of Life? Soitenly! Fanservice? Fine with me! I could care less what people think about what I watch when it comes to anime.

Wouldn't it be ironic to admit it here since it would be "openly" admitting it here? That would mean that the person isn't actually embarrassed to openly admitted it. Hmm.

If it was that boring, then you should skip the first 4 episodes. Those are the worst. At episode 5, they switch directors, and the other guy's a lot better.

Pity despite being a lot better, it's still completely shite. The problem wasn't with the director but with the utterly dire source material. This is practically proven by the OVA being by a third director and still sucking.

On topic, nothing.

There's nothing for me to be embarrassed about. Apparently, something about the way I look hints that I like cute things, so whenever I tell people that I like Cardcaptor Sakura (or another "childish" anime), they're not surprised. When I tell them that I like animes with mature or deeper themes, they'd think I'm cool because it's contrary to what they expect. I don't watch ecchi, hentai, or yaoi so there's nothing to say about that.

I think he means irl. I'm not quite ashamed of liking Sensitive Pornograph. Gay pr0nz, yes, but I definitely won't go around spreading the word. The heck would I do if my dad finds out I enjoy watching two guys in hard sex.

Watch Bondage Game then get back to me, anyone who can openly admit they like that probably has deep psychological problems.

I have seen Bondage Game. It was meh but I still wouldn't be embarrassed if anyone knew I've watched it. So many S&M hentais out there, this one is just another one. It's not even worth listing.

i watch all forms of anime, I don't give 2 tosses about what others think, I kind of gave up that thinking years ago...

as long as you enjoy it why should you care what others think of what you watch, unless they are into it, it has jack squat to do with them..
