| Not as deep as usual but the action was great. I've never thought a mix of action and SoL could work well. |

| Some nice action scenes. Since the lower class has to basically work for the upper class, I wonder how long it would take before the lower class is sick of it and just leaves. Kino is going up against another "traveler" it would seem. (Guy with the dog) - Mightbe someone related to the king though. |

| Where did Kino get the guns and learn to do all that? That's what I hope we will find out at some point. (this is why I would have assumed she had the surgery back a few episodes) The whole wagon-couple thing would have meant more if it had been in a previous episode |

| It's like every episode is a different show. I mean that in a good way. We only know Kino used to be a slave at some point, but we don't know what she did as a slave. I also wonder where she learned to fight like this. I really like her no-nonsense, pragmatic style of fighting. |

| I'm still struggling to figure out what the penalty system is. If you lose or surrender, you get deported, which I assume means you leave the country. If you win all of your battles until the end, you are rewarded with a first-class position by the king and you can add one rule to the country. If you refuse to participate, you become a slave. Where does the lower-class population come from? Were they always there before the beginning of the "new era" of tyrannical ruling? It was on my mind a lot, and I looked up to see if there was any discrepancy between the light novel and the anime, but to my knowledge--there isn't anything too major. Good episode regardless, and I love Kino's deadpan nature. Hopefully, the next episode will clear up any of my questions. |

| Kino has some elite skills, especially for a short teenage girl. Can you gain such proficiency at combat just by travelling? Wonder if she got training somewhere. It's pretty obvious the guy with the dog will be the final opponent here. |
