| i dont think any anime has really impacted my life since the stuff i've watched boils down to "not being like this" like how in death note setting unrealistic goals along with having a god complex or maybe just being a narcissist will catch up to you but i already knew that. this isn't even life changing but the only "life message" i've taken from watching anime is learning certain ideals and philosophies from stuff like monster and whatnot |

| I learnt something very useful from a single anime.....which is Naruto. The message which is spread in the entire series is that.... "Never give up"!.... and yeah I myself follow that rule..... |

| Yeah,I generally watch shows for fun but i always prefer Psychological shows which've got hidden meaning and lessons in them.Although the biggest factor for me is mental influence,which is pretty closely related to "deep" shows. |

| Depends on the anime. Most are just for entertainment but some can be very educational or philosophically motivational which can make you learn things or make you look at different perspectives of a matter. |

| Death note life lesson is something along the line of "u have to pay for ur sins" or "look in the mirror before point out flaws of other" or even better "world doesn't give preference to anyone whether good or bad" Anyways, i can feel a message or theme forming for every anime. Only thing is some are poorly told and some are greatly emphasised. I do watch anime for the story and message is one of the core part of storytelling. So it is important to me. Now whether I take them in my daily life is a entirely different thing. I might retain some of it subconsciously. But humans doesnt suddenly change by watching some entertainment media. |

| Obviously, it depends on the show. There are anime that are just entertainment similar to summer popcorn movies or your standard comedy flick and etc. While other anime do go for something deeper that may resonate with their audience. So when it comes to the latter, of course, I will look for the lesson or message the show is trying to convey. And if it resonates with me, I will most definitely see how it relates to my daily life and such. Because if I don't then what worth are the meanings and lessons we take from media if it doesn't personally affect us? stories in any form of media are a part of your life experiences and your memories. The stories we grow up with or that resonate with us, shape and affect who we are. And it doesn't even have to be the deepest or most profound lesson in the world, just as long as you can take something away from those stories. |

| Of course one shouldn't reject learning from anything out of principle, but anime is just entertainment. It's good enough for life lessons up until one graduates from high school or so, but there's hardly anything anime can teach you which can't be easily expanded (or rejected) even by just listening to a joe rogan podcast. And I'm definitely not recommending joe rogan for life lessons, let's be clear about it. TL;DR: you can learn random bits of culture, history, science, even language from anime. Life lessons are a slightly different matter. |

| I think it's more accurate to say I've had certain beliefs/notions reinforced by anime rather than actually learning new ideas by watching it. I am not so deluded as to believe that being kind all the time is a good idea because...well, humans are awful and they'll take advantage of you. But that's sort of the appeal of anime for me...a glimpse into the ideal world. |

| The true mark of a 10/10 anime is its ability to affect your life. I think this is the pinnacle that any form of media aspires to. Now there is nothing wrong with shows that are all about “turn your brain off fun”, but this can also depend on your perspective. Death Note is either an allegory for the corruptive nature of power and teaches us to be skeptical of those who promise us Utopia. Or it’s just a thriller with an interesting twist and an unfortunately laggy end. Both perspectives are an acceptable way to view the series and we shouldn’t feel limited either way. |
