| Seeing how dumb big fandoms can get, I wonder what would happen if an anime like WataMote somehow became extremely popular. I wonder how it would feel if I turned on Twitter and found hordes of Tomoko x Yuri shippers fighting Tomoko x Nemo shippers. Frankly, I don't like toxic fandoms, but I could enjoy the extra fanworks that come with popularity, but I don't think there's much benefit for me with WataMote becoming extremely popular, unless that means that we get another season. |

Steins Gate is already one of the most popular anime, at least in MAL. its like 2/3 of SnK S1 in terms of popularity and thats a hell lot. its impossible to get that unsanely popuar with over 21 million members unless theres some demographic massive explosion or time travel is discovered in the same way SG did and suddently everyone who avoids anime watches it and creates a MAL account. |

| Kaiji. I mean, like with anything popular I could see how disliking it will pop out during discussions of the show. Already has memes and enough smutty fanart out there (not my thing) but getting more popular could mean another season of the show and more discussion about the manga parts. I don't see it though because unlike a shonen it doesn't have power escalation or much content to theorize about. |

| I don't care about what fandom does but only advantage I see out of it is getting a possibility for the next season. well at the same time one of my favorites doesn't have second season despite its popularity. |

| I can't really imagine One Piece becoming 10x bigger than it is, it's already one of the most popular franchises in the world 🤭 Honestly it wouldn't make much difference to me, even when I look at my more obscure favourites. I feel comfortable in both big and small fandoms~ I'm used to ignoring unpleasant parts of my fandoms. |

| If Yama no Susume Second Season had 300,000 members on MAL? I'd feel a little uncomfortable about it tbh. As much as I'll often feel salty about it being overshadowed by Yuru Camp (and even at 10x its popularity it still wouldn't be as popular as Yuru Camp, lol), I kind of like it as being this special thing that not too many people know about. It's become part of my personality to be a person who likes it. If it was more in the zeitgeist it wouldn't feel as fun. It would still be the same anime and it would still feel as close to my heart, but knowing that so many other people also like it would make it feel like less important of an anime. Maybe that's just me being a hipster, though, idk. |

| Strawberry Marshmallow and Azumanga Daioh, i'd be really happy if they were 10x more popular, it'd be nice to see them included with Lucky Star and Nichijou in convo's about great slice of life series, Yugioh was insanely popular in it's day, i can't imagine it being 10x more popular. I guess Anime YouTubers would reference it and make more videos about it. |
