Given how Vanitas,Irina The Vampire Cosmonaut and Requiem Of The Rose King (while not yet out but still has its own well sized cult of leaders) are doing well, do you think this will help encourage industry senpai to give more gothic anime a chance?

Anything to disrupt the Isekai saturation (don't hate them but Jesus) I'm ok with.
Don't let others ruin things for you. Even if a toxic fan pisses in your cereal, you could just get another bowl of cereal.

Vanitas is steampunk not gothic...
"All truth is meaningless. In the end, 'meaning' comes from the mind of each individual human. Even when there is a single truth, it can mean different things to different individuals. The truth has no meaning in itself!" - Erika Furudo

I'm starting to read The Case Study of Vanitas, haven't watched Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut but I want to because of its unique premise and (mainly) the composer working on it, and haven't read Requiem of the Rose King but it sure seems to have an interesting premise with interesting art.

I don't really read/watch gothic stuff much, but I feel like I should give it more of a chance and so should the anime industry.

Hope a gothic anime renaissance commences in the future.

Oh yes!! totes do give gothic anime/manga a shot!! ^^

I've seen Irina The Vampire Cosmonaut and i'm halfway through the show and the premise is really unique and yes, the musical score from Yatsuda Matsunori is really great and the character development for Irina is a strongpoint for the series to me.

Well, i've mentioned this before but if we're to really start seeing one its to let industry senpai know, with your personal finances on what you want to see instead of bitch and complain about the problem on a an anime forum filled with bitter neetakus crying for their pps to be touched.

Because thats how you really start to see change around in the industry.

Vanitas - mostly Steam Punk and Belle Époque aesthetic in it.
Irina The Vampire Cosmonaut - mostly 60's Soviet Union and Space Race aesthetic in it.

It's a trend that's never going to take off because of Japan taste, sadly.

It took me a solid minute to figure out OP meant renaissance. Also I agree with @signsofsuicide anything to get rid of isekai saturation. Doesn’t have to be gothic, but if it is so be it

Hm, what do you mean by ‘gothic’? Gothic as in tone or gothic as in art style? I haven’t watched any of the titles you mentioned to know in what aspect they’re gothic, though I think that you mean gothic as an art style, but better to ask just in case.

Both in artstyle and in tone is what i was refering too.

I don't know how the TV anime ends. I dropped it because X is a pretty boring story without the manga's divine art. The movie did the best it could with 100 minutes, which is to say it didn't do vey well. The manga features distinct, memorable characters. I highly recommend it if you enjoy the movie's premise, and if the lack of an ending isn't a dealbreaker.

Do you approve of this picture/aesthetic?

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne isn't exactly gothic nor is it Arina Tanemura's best work imo but it does have nice art like this.

CLAMP finishes their work more often than not. Though this chart is somewhat misleading, you can see many more green boxes than red ones.

X is largely what I expected of it. So I guess you should read it if it looks like something you'd like.

Dunno, but I did find an old omnibus of Clover the other day, so that's the next CLAMP work I will be reading next.
Besides, I've been told that a Chrono Cross character was apparently named after a character in this manga, so I've been meaning to read it.

I had no idea either until recently, but yeah it's those two. Not gonna click on the link cuz I want to read it first.

I tried to read JoJo p1 long ago but for some reason I dropped it. It wasn't even terrible or anything (cuz I know p1 is the least liked part), I just didn't have the time to read more or something. Maybe I'll borrow some library volumes of it again in the future.

I experienced that too. Often it goes hand in hand as well.
The original D.Gray-man series had this style and atmosphere. In Hallow it got lost a bit, because the colors were too bright for that series imo.

Really hope this style comes back and will be seen more often again, because I love both, gothic and especially steampunk(-esque) styles and atmosphere.

I just have to warn you about the manga that the art style in the first couple of volumes isn't that great, but it's fine, and it became stunning over the years. She really made some serious progress.

If you like Vanitas, I'd recommend you to read the manga and also Pandora Hearts too.

Ah, alright. I don’t have any comments to make because as I said, I haven’t watched any of the titles you mentioned and I don’t really keep up with current anime for the most part. So I asked because I was curious whether some fans were anticipating more anime of the gothic genre, and if it happens, I think it would be wonderful, the genre is very, very interesting.

Vanitas while not exactly goth per say is still alt with its steampunk setting and Irina The Vampire Cosmonaut i think you may like alot. And also not gothic at all but Twin Spica is really cool too.
