Also, as far as I know, breaking that "halo" of Eua should make WAAAAAAAAY MORE than just reduce her. And how does this connect with the post credit scene of higurashi? Where Witch Rika appears. These two seasons are suppossed to take place in the timeline of higurashi OC, the first time Rika breaks the loop, then she and Satoko go to Saint Lucia, all this shit happens and THEN, go back to higurashi OC and the post credit scene take place, with a Witch Rika helping the blonde gilr (at this point I don't remember her name), to evade this loop from happening, loop which theorically ended as we've seen, with her coming back to her senses by herself, so why go to her house from her childhood when literally nothing happened. Idk, this doesn't make sense. I supposse this is only to canon-link Higurashi with Umineko and explain the origin of the witch version of Satoko. Anyway, if we listen to the leaker, which apparently was entirely right, we're gonna have more Higurashi (not Umineko, that's important) in 2022. Sooooooooooooo.... Until that new Higurashi thing prove it to be some kind of masterpiece enough to make these 2 seasons a little bit important, the original ending is my canon, not this. Uminekofans probably will explain to you why it's bullshit, while Uminekofags will explain why it isn't. I mean, if whoever wanted to defend all bullshit they're could come up with very thin reasoning, like "if it wasn't said, then it means it never was like that" so there could be something like "Well, actually it's not Featherine" or "Yeah it's Featherine, but it's not bullshit because Hanyu is stronger, since we never been told in red that Hanyu is weaker" or smth along those lines lol |

I've been in a limbo on how to rate this and Gou as such but I've settled with a generous 6 and 4 respectively for the time being. Fact that You (Sotsugyu ver.) featured in the end instantly got a smile on my face, the song is just such a treat for the ears and a tired mind! I remember going through the YT playlists of all the diff versions of the songs numerous times during study sessions so they're in a special place of my heart and now, there's one more to the list. Well played, Ryukishi-sensei. Plus, the incredibly positive vibe from the shots, despite how ridiculously contrasting they're to the entire series, somehow just ended up leaving a good-ish note, at least for right now. Even the side characters got their happiness and Dark Satoko, conveniently, is somehow no more. And it took just a talking from the seniors plus a heartfelt conversation between the two to put all the gruesome killings and negativity aside though, I don't think I can come to appreciate 39-episodes worth of content just for this finale. Also, Satoko's nii-nii returning back like that was just ... a "are you serious?" moment. Likewise, the whole Hanyu v Eua deal and Eua suddenly changing to a chibi avatar. I've got so much to share but to make things short, I'm filled with mixed feelings and I definitely don't think these are the worthy additions to the franchise that I was hoping for, especially considering that they returned like 11 yrs later. Milking has become a serious problem, and this will serve as a prime example in my mind, for sure. Heard there's a chance for another project? Please, let it be a bit more meaningful and comprehensible next time! @Shengud I really don't want to be that person but I feel like the odds are more that the next projects will flop just as hard, if not worse. It's finally ended! F**k you, show. Nothing really to write home about, this is the safest of the safe endings they could bargain for after this absolute disaster. A little happy on the inside they didn't force a Umineko/Ciconia connection at the end. Nor did they aim for immediately teasing a possible sequel. Another good thing is that Rika and Satoko aren't totally besties now. Oh who tf cares, this isn't canon anyways. Who threatened Ryu to do this? Au-au?? |

The leaker warned about this shit ending, but holy shit, that was BAD. I didn't read the VN, but I guess players felt insulted after listening to a Dear You remix in the end. The message of "Just because you're friends doesn't mean you have to do everything together" is touching and I love it, but man, this series doesn't live up to that message. You don't go around killing your friends. 3/10, stop milking this franchise. |

It was kind of impossible to make a finale that everyone liked. I thought it was fine, not great, but not nearly as bad as I see a lot of people saying. Then again, I'm not a long time fan, so my expectations didn't have the time to be stacked up. The ending isn't everything, either. I thought the rest of the show was awesome, so I'll give it a 7-8. |

For anybody who doesn't know. The director of Sotsu gave an interview. He makes it clear that Sotsu was planned and outlined by Ryuukishi. So the overall problems that Sotsu has is 100 percent Ryuukishis fault. However the recap extension was partly the fault of Passione. So that's it. Ryuukishi does have some blame here. |

I won't lie, I enjoyed the very ending of this episode and the beggining of the one before it, but all that happened in between is another story... All the Mahou Shoujo Higurashi Magica moments, Rika and Satoko settling all their differences with punches and idle talk after figthing to death dozens of times, Hanyuu summoning the sword all of a sudden without any explanation, Eua being struck after barely reacting and then turning into a loli????? WTF was this shit man, Hanyuu was going all "we make miracles happen" and then rose her hand to call the deity sword. What as the miracle? Rika dropping the sword in the river? The sword being thrown in slow mo while Rika is punching Satoko at 110pch/m (punches per minute)? GoSotsu had a great premise, but its execution was made in one of the shitiest ways ever. 4/10 |

For everyone who is... or was saying that this is the end. And that there was no news about new anime, I just wanted to point out what Satoko & Rika said. The more proper translation would be as: One day we'll meet again. We'll meet again soon. Again in 'whatever' When They Cry. Interpret it as you will, but to me it sounds like they are atleast planning on making some form of WTC where these two characters will appear. And I doubt it will just simply be another "Higurashi". I also doubt that it will be about the same thing that we're getting on December. Unless the December event is simply an announcement for future. However sad it may seem, I have a hunch that it will be tied to Umineko. And this in actuality was a "revelation" of pointing out how Rika and Satoko actually are the Umineko Witches, not simply controlled pawns. LMAO xD There was 2 comments which made my day today, and this was the first. vegeta8639 said: Honestly... It was bad. Having Satoko be cured of being insane and evil just by getting beat up really makes all of Satoko's insanity feel like it was all for nothing. Satoko being a centuries old timelooping sadist murderer is brushed aside, and neither seem particularly torn up about the whole thing... It actually makes Satoko creepy to watch in the train scene. When I saw the train I thought Satoko was going to jump in front of it so she could forget her memories, but no, she still has them. And Rika and Satoko are immortal loopers now which is weird. I thought Hanyuu was only trying to save Rika from being murdered in Hinamizawa, not that she had bestowed immortality on her forever which that dialogue on the train seems to imply. 'Dear you' is a beautiful song, but it is hard to feel anything watching a montage of characters who have done nothing for the past 30 episodes. The song is wasted on a show like this. Teppei actually doing something was the one thing I was still holding out hope for in this episode, but in the end all the focus he had amounted to nothing. It was weird seeing Shion and Teppei speak. That means the final scene of Sotsu is shared between between 2 regular characters who have literally never spoken in the entire series' runtime. The ending was safe, status quo and unimaginative, a final fuck you to everyone who stuck it out through those 9 recap-recaps. I definitely think Gou was better although even though Gou was also bad; the St Lucia stuff and the Rika death montage were at least entertaining. In Sotsu, the previous episode was really a standout from the whole thing and the only enjoyable episode for me. This whole thing could have been an enjoyable looper vs looper silly action sidestory - and I think it is more enjoyable if you view it that way - but it overstayed it's welcome for such a flimsy premise. I think I would have liked it more if it was 12 episodes or a movie. Looking forward to Umineko... |

I mean, no director in their right mind would receive a script saying "they fought each other" in a physical realistic premise and adapt it as a shounen flying battle. Most, if not all, the things that broke Higurashi standards (in a bad way) must have been hinted in Ryuushiki's script. Of course, Passione has its flaws to blame too, but come on, they wouldn't have made Shion panic and cower herself when Mion was about to kill her if the script were telling otherwise. The pacing and excess of repetitions probably is Passione's fault, but not the story in itself. |

It's clearly Higurashi. + Ryuukishi said that it was Higurashi very clearly. + leaker confirmed more Higurashi in 2022 NOT Umineko.. Im still not sure what it actually is? Anime? Game? Movie? It being Umineko is not out of the question, but highly highly unlikely. Well, one of my friends who know Japanese, said it's about game, so probably another gacha\vn\pachinko(LOL), hence maybe even fighting |

Chargecoulomb said: For anybody who doesn't know. Well then, fuck Ryukishi. Passione fucked for a long time already but still fuck them too Though I'm not surprised, considering how much he lied in any interview(especially promotion one) |

Absolutely fucking nothing. This is a shame. A real shame. After everything, Passione has the balls to play dear you at the end of this travesty. You think a yuri ending would've been appropriate considering all the shit Satoko has done in this series? It would definitely not feel justified imo I guess the moral of the story is to mindbreak your love interest until she loves you back? I don't think so to be honest. It's more of a "we're the only ones in this world who truly understand each other, but we can no longer see fully eye to eye...so let's go our separate ways for now at least". It was definitely hinted that there could be some yuri down the road, but not enough to really confirm anything imo The speech is literally lifted from Bern and Lambda's speech in Umineko. Yea...and? This isn't Umineko. And it doesn't seem to be tying together Higurashi and Umineko either. |

My interpretation of the ending. Rika seperated from Looper-Rika-Bernkastel in Saikoroshi. However when the loops restarted they were forced back together again. Satoko through reliving all of Rikas loops created a looper self of her own. OR Got controlled by Lambdadelta (This is the more likely option) In the end, when they say goodbye. It's not Rika and Satoko saying goodbye. It's Lambda and Bernkastel. Lambda stops controlling / manipulating Satoko. Saying that she will give the body back to her. Supposedly Bernkastel will do the same. That's that. It's the status quo. Nothing changed. It's the same as Saikoroshi. Let me be clear though - Satoko is not Lambda. Satoko is just another person for Lambda to Manipulate Like Takano and Yasu, nothing more. |

Lambda was the one who gave Takano her certainty, her messing with her own origin is paradoxical and probably would be some kind of logic error. Lambda is probably the one manipulating Satoko in SotsuGou though. Having abandoned Takano (causing her to question her plans and stop them) Although it's hard to tell what's bait and what's important. Eua was obviously bait for Featherine (that ended up going nowhere) so yeah... Whether it's bait or not I cannot say |

The power of friendship bullshit shouldn't be a thing The original Higurashi was literally all about the "power of friendship" lmaooooo Yeah, remember when in OG Higurashi Takano got defeated just because "FRIENDSHIP"? Or maybe you remember when Rika and Takano got mahou-shoujo powers because of FRIENDSHIP and started flying and throwing shit? Original was about friendship, but it wasn't THAT absurd. Featherine(literally the most strongest creature in all WTC universe) got defeated by Hanyu that was already weak, not to mention the sword gettin in META world after fallin into the RIVER(not even Onigafuchi) is on of the biggest asspulls in Sotsu. Original wasn't that shounenesque so no, it's not that easy ti say "Oh, OG was about this to lololololo". |

Hulio said: For everyone who is... or was saying that this is the end. It's the same thing they say at the end of Umineko and there it was translated as "We will meet again when something else cries" which is obviously referencing Ryukishi's various VN titles in the series. Higurashi, Umineko and now Ciconia. If anything it's more likely a sign off for the end of Higurashi than suggesting they'll make more but who knows. We'll have to wait and see if Bern and Lambda type characters appear in some future project. |

Or any console arc, not only it would've been better storywise, it also would've been better to get more fans into franchise along with giving a bit of recaps of OG(and it won't feels that forced and blunt) without needs to say "It'll be remake and good for newcomers" |
